QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 18, 2013 -> 09:54 PM) Timmy's going HAM. Green's done pretty much nothing offensively tonight. The finals MVP is probably gonna be Duncan's if they finish this.
-
I want to feel sorry for LeBron, as the day2day pressure on him to be great dwarfs anything Michael, Magic, Bird, Hakeem - anybody - has ever had to go through. But when you play like this, you deserve what you get.
-
This s*** is over if Manu gets hot again.

QUOTE (Knuckles @ Jun 18, 2013 -> 09:17 PM) Dude, the whole time I thought you're rooting for the Heat? That's because I don't hate LeBron for the decision when I wouldn't have given a damn about it had he come to Chicago.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 18, 2013 -> 09:12 PM) Duncan kills the all time leading scorer in longevity? You play 20 years, especially during the 70's and 80's, where pace was circus cartoon crazy and defensive intensity was low, you're gonna set some records.
-
What a finish by the Spurs. One more half.

QUOTE (Boogua @ Jun 18, 2013 -> 09:02 PM) Duncan is my second favorite player ever (you can probably guess who my first is), but it's really hard to argue him over Kareem. This is another debate though. It's not that hard at all. Comparable peaks and Duncan kills him longevity wise. And the Laker's were Magic's team through all those runs.

QUOTE (Boogua @ Jun 18, 2013 -> 08:56 PM) The new NBA "Where are the dominant bigs!" Oh, that's right. The greatest one to play the game is still playing.
-
Duncan is destroying Bosh.
-
I'll say it again. This pace incredible. I'm gettin' dizzy watchin' this s***.
-
lol@Mike Miller. Take yo ass to da bench after that.
-
Great pace so far. Duncan looks f***in' fresh. You can tell he's got rings on da brain.

You're Hahn, who are you looking to trade first?

Sale (imo) goes nowhere unless Mike Trout, Bryce Harper, Manny Machado or Buster Posey are coming back. I know the injury risk. But f*** it. You just gotta cross your fingers and hope for the best. Elite, cost-controlled, or in Sale's case, team-friendly contracts such as the one he just signed are by far the most valuable commodity in the new-modern age of baseball. -
QUOTE (Boogua @ Jun 16, 2013 -> 10:08 PM) Both the Mavs and Spurs had some size and good defensive big men (Chandler and Duncan) and the 11 Bulls and these Pacers teams were extremely limited with ball handlers and/or shooters. If the Bulls had a SG that wasn't Keith Bogans in 2011, they would have had a shot. If the Pacers would have had a PG that wasn't George Hill and a SG that wasn't Lance Stephenson they would have had a better chance too. It's not that black and white. E: I do agree with your basic premise though. The Heat are over aggressive and are out of position against teams with really good ball movement and multiple shooters. Of course some combination of the two would be the best formula. There just aren't many teams out there like that. Anyway, this (to me anyway) is not about hahaha, the heat lose, LeBron is no Jordan, etc, etc. No matter what happens, the Heat have still owned the eastern conference the last three years. I know it can't happen overnight. But the Bulls need to move more towards the new-style NBA.
-
I am now convinced that size/beef/physicality is not how you beat Miami now or in the future. The Bulls had more size in '11. The Pacers had more size the last two years. You have to be able to spread Miami out with multiple guys that can put the ball on the floor and create for shooters (Peja, Terry, Griffin, Barea, Green, Neal, Leonard). Duncan is one win away from becoming the best big man of all-time.

Game Thread: White Sox vs. those pesky Astros

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Jun 16, 2013 -> 04:00 PM) You're about .070 points off there, Mike. Yeah, he's thinking April/May. PK went '94 Frank those two months. But he had cooled off considerably by the break. -
Do you want Ventura back as manager next year?

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 16, 2013 -> 11:33 AM) No.......... I am done with the country club that is the White Sox right now. The country club? Da hell? -
I hate when I have to be the voice of reason aka the smartest person on the board. To the mods, did steve share with you naked pics of his so called hot wife? How is this clown able to get away with calling Balta (who I just about never agree with but respect as a poster) a f***ing idiot and not get suspended? He did it to me but I let it go because he's just so lame to me (my sources said Rose is playing tonight!). He's like the k-mart version of Brandofan yet I get more s*** for saying Kobe is a better binge scorer (he is) than Michael Jordan was. Felix and qwerty, the two smartest people to ever live, told me what a f***ing dumbass he was. But I see it now. If this moron is able to call people names, mock them, etc, then I will be forced to unleash my fury (I've held back for a while now) on all of PHT. Thank you for you time.

Tulo to the DL (6 weeks) with a broken rib. Somethin' happens to him every year.

QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 14, 2013 -> 08:04 AM) I don't recall Dirks series being that great so much as Jason Terry and Jason Kidd going off for three. But maybe that was just game 6 that is blocking my memory. QUOTE (Boogua @ Jun 14, 2013 -> 08:13 AM) He had two really good games, 1 pretty good game, and two bad games. It wasn't a great series by him. That series was definitely Miami's for the taking, but Lebron just went into ultra-passive mode and lost them a series. He did 26 and 10 for the series. His shooting percentage in the finals was off. But he consistently made plays when it counted. He had a history of doing the exact opposite before that.

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jun 14, 2013 -> 12:06 AM) Big dif is that in 2011, LBJ was still a p****. Present day LeBron now at least attacks the basket when his j isn't falling. Well, I would say the bigger difference is that you had Dirk playing some of the best basketball of his life (Spurs don't have a player like that). Neither one of these teams was going to win all three middle games. It just rarely happens. If the Spurs can get game 5, they have a real good shot. I still question whether Wade/Bosh can bring it like this (game 4) in consecutive games. If they do, yeah, it's over. Edit: s***, I take it back about teams rarely winning games 3-4-5. Pistons and Heat (twice) have done it since '04. Totally forgot about the Pistons and '06 Heat.
-
QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jun 13, 2013 -> 11:50 PM) I've seen this effing movie before... Spurs win game 5, go up 3-2 Miami wins game 6, ties it 3-3 Heat blows out Spurs in 7th game (yawn) Well, the Mavs did go up 3-2 and finished 'em in game 6. Game 5 is the Spurs' season. No way in f***ing hell they lose game 5 and take two in Miami.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jun 13, 2013 -> 10:40 PM) Why the f*** does Spoelstra still have LeBron, Wade, Bosh and Allen in? Only bad things can happen right now. Spurs aren't wired that way.
-
QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 13, 2013 -> 10:30 PM) Another turnover It's not like they've been sloppy, unforced turnovers. The Heat D has been incredible.

Gabriella Union must've given some good head last night.
