Crede and Garland to Texas?
I don't like this trade at all. We don't need to totally overhaul the team. Wilkerson sucks. Dude hit 32 hr's in 04 but only 11 last year. Blalock would be an upgrade offensively over Crede, but a downgrade defensively. A major prospect? Jesus! Why do we have to rape our farm system?

In Kenny, I trust.

Sox Acquire Javier Vazquez
QUOTE(valponick @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 01:28 AM) Javier Vazquez - S - Diamondbacks The White Sox are close to acquiring Javier Vazquez from the Diamondbacks for Chris Young, Orlando Hernandez and a second pitcher, according to CBS SportsLine. Getting Young alone for Vazquez would make this an excellent deal for the Diamondbacks. In El Duque, they'd get a pitcher who wouldn't be much less effective than Vazquez was last season, although he's far from a good bet to throw 200 innings. Hopefully, White Sox GM Ken Williams is at least getting the Diamondbacks to cover a portion of Vazquez's salary. Dec. 14 - 12:40 am et I don't like it. If this belongs somewhere else please move it. Those idiots obviously have no clue how bad El Duque was in the regular season.

QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Dec 13, 2005 -> 11:58 PM) the early reports said a minor league reliever is possibly included I'm cool with that.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Dec 13, 2005 -> 11:57 PM) I'm serious when I speculate Rotoworld has NEVER complimented any trade of Williams' within the last two years. Just as they seemingly praise Beane's acqusitions and trades every opportunity given. I just don't like the position this trade puts us in. It's obvious Garland is going to be delt, and since he's likely seeking a large contract in 2007, he'll net the White Sox less in return. For once this offseason, I'd like some other team to overpay for our player. If Williams can't field a legitimate offer for Garland, leave McCarthy in the bullpen. Because I'm not giving up Garland unless a top-tier reliever, immediate impact outfielder/infielder, or prospect is included. I agree with all of this.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Dec 13, 2005 -> 11:56 PM) We are giving up El Duque, Chris Young, and a second pitcher (probably a reliever). A lot will depend on who this second pitcher is and if we are receiving any cash from the Diamondbacks to tell if this is a good deal or not. El Duque is just a salary dump. I hate to lose Chris Young though. Another pitcher? WTF?

Don Cooper is the x-factor to me. If he can get Vasquez back to his 2003 form, we win this deal easily. I wouldn't doubt it after what he did with Contreras last year.

QUOTE(fathom @ Dec 13, 2005 -> 11:50 PM) Rotoworld's already bashing the trade from the Sox point of view. If this trade is legit, I'm thrilled to get rid of Duque, who easily had the worst contract on the team. Can't be worse than how they bashed the Pods/Viz for C-Lee deal last year.

QUOTE(fathom @ Dec 13, 2005 -> 11:47 PM) As many know, I'm one of those people who always expect something bad to happen. Am I the only one who thinks that it's still likely this is just the same info from sportsline, and it still could include Garland? Nope. Mlb.com is pretty legit. I don't think it would be on their front page if it was just them getting it from somewhere else.

garland for vazquez
Young? Hell no!

Bears CUT Bobby Wade!!!
Wade was given every oppurtunity to get his act together and he failed. This move had to be made. I'm not worried about the depth at wr. We've got Moose, Gage, Berrian and Currie. Now we just need a qb that can get them the ball.

Bulls vs. Shaq and Riley
The loss hurts, but the effort was pretty good tonight. Tyson really needs to take a break. He looks nothing like the Tyson from last year. If he's hurt, he needs to sit until he gets better. How good was Shaq tonight? I got a feeling he's about to s*** on everybody now that he's had so much rest.

Heat coach Van Gundy resigns
QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Dec 12, 2005 -> 09:13 PM) Oh yeah, because who the hell would want to spend more time with their family? That crazy bastard! It was heavily speculated before the season that Riley would at some point become the coach. A month ago, Van Gundy was going on and on about how he loved his job and didn't want to go anywhere. Now he wants out to spend more time with his family? Not buyin it. And I guarantee you he'll be back coaching some team in the near future.

Agent: Artest wants to remain a Pacer
QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Dec 11, 2005 -> 07:58 AM) How can anyone look at what Isiah Thomas has done with the Knicks and want to go to that team? This just further proves that Artest is insane Nene is a lot more than just potential. He's a legitimate center who's been stuck behind guys like Marcus Camby and Kenyon Martin. The guy has got a lot of skills. I'd love to have him. You could move Chandler back to the 4 where he's much better. Then you could move Sweetney to the bench where he can really put up some numbers against other team's reserves.

Agent: Artest wants to remain a Pacer
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Dec 12, 2005 -> 06:34 PM) Ron Artest has definitely turned his back on this franchise and its fans. For some reason, we all supported him during that embarassment last year, and he's potentially trying to throw away another season for Indiana. There's no way the Pacers are going to get as much as they could, if this request happened during the offseason. And my send off to Artest: f*** you. I don't blame you one bit.

Cardinals sign Ricardo Rincon
QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Dec 12, 2005 -> 01:14 AM) I would not mind Mullholand He is not bad for the occasional lefty out from the pen...we can always upgrade at trade deadline....maybe get Eddie Guardardo from the Ms then Last season taught us that it's never a guarantee that you're gonna be able to make a move at the deadline. I'm sure Kenny is aware of this and will try and make all the moves needed before next season starts.

QUOTE(fathom @ Dec 11, 2005 -> 11:50 PM) Felix Heredia? No thanks, I wouldn't even want him pitching for our AAA team. Eischen is a solid lefty, but I heard the Nats want to bring him back. Just an idea. I've always liked his arm. After what Coop was able to do with Contreras last year, I wouldn't doubt he could get Heredia back on track. However, I see that Heredia only pitched in 3 games last year. He must've had a serious injury. Forget about it if he isn't healthy. I'm really interested to see what Kenny has up his sleeve. Because I don't see jack out there right now.
