Cubs after Tejada, could move Prior
LMAO@this part of the article. Bedard a "ready" replacement for Prior? Their rotation would still be at full strength? Zambrano Bedard Maddux Wood ? Oh, yeah, that rotation is beyond scary.

LMAO! I love it! That would be the final straw for Flub fans. Go for it, Mr. Hendry.

Levine: Garland To Be Traded
QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Dec 22, 2005 -> 01:23 AM) Would all the Garland bashers who say such ignorant bulls*** like Garland had a "so-so" second half take the time to back their s*** up? Oh wait, if they looked at Garland's second half splits, they'd see that while there was a minor drop off in production stats, he averaged barely over a hit an inning and had a 3.65 ERA. He also had a bad month in August and then bounced back to a solid September and a great start in October. Hey guess what guys, Freddy Garcia had an ERA of 4.28 in the second half. Mark Buehrle had an ERA of 3.84 in the second half. Only Jose Contreras had a better second half ERA startingwise than Garland. And all of you are ready to chuck him out the boat? Why aren't you people saying the same stupid s*** about having a bad career prior to this season about Contreras? Jesus f***ing Christ, open up your goddamn eyes. So true. Garland should've won 20 games last year. I'm not happy at all about possibly trading him.

Kyle Orton out for the season.....
QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Dec 22, 2005 -> 12:52 AM) Dude, they won in spite of Orton not because of him. But Orton "Manages" the game well.

Bears sending six players to Pro Bowl
Congrats to all 6 Bears reps on making it! Like many, I feel Alex Brown and Adewale Ogunleye got hosed. I was surprised to see Tommie Harris make it. It would be easy for him to get overlooked on a loaded D like the Bears. Couldn't agree more with this.

Bobcats @ bulls.
I can't even watch this team right now. I actually had more fun watching the Bulls in 99 when they had zero talent. This team is too good to be this bad.

Kobe Obliterating the Mavs
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Dec 21, 2005 -> 12:20 AM) when you score 62 points you dont need to pass the ball... especially when you only do it in 3 quarters True. I'm not hating on Kobe. It' just weird to see a guy score that many without 1 assist.

Kobe Obliterating the Mavs
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Dec 20, 2005 -> 11:45 PM) Is it on tv? Naw, i've got the league pass. There talking about it on espn news.

Kobe Obliterating the Mavs
Anybody watchin this game? Kobe's got 62 points through 3 quarters. The Mavs should be ashamed of themselves. I notice Kobe has zero assists as well. lol. Odom is the next highest scorer with 7 points.

Packers making Kyle Boller look like Dan Marino in his prime. They're not ready for Rex.

OMG
I'll never forget my reaction after Tad hit that 3 run shot. I'm still surprised that none of my neighbors called the cops on me.

AJ Pierzynski Signs 3-yr Contract Extension
QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Dec 19, 2005 -> 01:18 PM) Good deal, considering what Ramon Hernandez got (4-years, $27.5 million). AJ better stop swinging for the fences though. I'd rather have the Pierzynski who hit less homers but put up a .290 AVG and .330 OBP. I'd rather have the playoff AJ.

The "I was wrong about Grossman" thread
QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Dec 19, 2005 -> 09:56 AM) Let us know when you getting around to pointing out the difference between Rex and Kyle. You obviously didn't see the second half of last night's game.

Falcons @ Bears
Just got home from watching the game at a sportsbar. The place was so electric most of the night. I felt like I was at Soldier Field. First off, I want to say that I wasn't rooting against Orton tonight. I was hoping that he would be able to play well enough to give us a chance. But that simply wasn't the case tonight. A change had to be made. Grossman gave the team a huge lift. You could sense that the rest of the offense got a boost just by him being out there. And what can you say about the defense? Good lord! That's the defense that can carry ya to the SB.

Bulls beat the celtics
QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Dec 18, 2005 -> 01:00 AM) I've been thinking..... if LeBron and the Cavs dont make the playoffs again this year... i know there have been rumors saying he might bolt.. most likely to a big market team (stern would love what it would do for the league) would there be any better situation for LeBron other than chicago? The bulls are on the doorstep of being a contender assuming they can add some talent.... and Heir Jordan playing in the house MJ built? the endorsements would be unbelievable im not saying i think this is a likely scenario... but possibly something to think about... Anything short of an injury to Lebron, the Cavs are in the playoffs.

Bulls @ Pistons
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 17, 2005 -> 03:33 AM) Its cause they have zero defensive presence in the low post. That's definitely a big part of it. For all the crap everybody gave Eddy, the one thing he did do was take up space with that big body of his. Not having Antonio Davis obviously hurts as well.

Reliving the Memories?
The DVD, highlights from the net, games that I taped, saved sports sections during the playoffs, ect, ect. The 2005 White Sox will be entrenched into my memory until the day i'm 6 feet under.
-
Bulls @ Pistons
The Bulls are just an inconsistent bunch right now. The defense has fallen off dramatically from a year ago.

Sox Top Minors
I'm not the minor league guru that some of the other Soxtalk studs are. But here's what I would assume our top guy's are right now. In no real order: Ryan Sweeney, Jerry Owens, Robert Valido, Casey Rogowski, Josh Fields, Sean Tracey, Lance Broadway, Charles Haeger, Ray Liotta and Jeff Bajenaru. Guy's I would look out for are Tyler Lumsden, Kris Honel "I can't give up on him for some reason", Francisco Hernandez and Aaron Cunningham. That's about the best I can offer. Our farm is considerably weaker now than it was 6 weeks ago. I'd be surprised if we were ranked in the top 20 by the time the minor league season starts next year. Let's hope Jim Thome and Javier Vasquez are well worth it.

Crede and Garland to Texas?
QUOTE(YASNY @ Dec 16, 2005 -> 07:14 AM) From the Fort Worth Star Telegram: So they have been talking. Excellent! "They want too much in return." I love it! I wanna see us get a sick package for Garland. Kenny should settle for nothing less.

Agent: Artest wants to remain a Pacer
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Dec 13, 2005 -> 02:18 AM) But why would you trade for him now when he's out for the season with a bad knee and he'll be a FA at the end of this season anyways? I'm assuming you didn't know that bout Nene. I know that. I said if he was healthy.

My rant
QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Dec 16, 2005 -> 03:32 AM) I'm just worried that Garland may not have the kind of trade value we think he should have. The A's got a great return for Mark Mulder last year in Danny Haren, Kiko Calero, and Daric Barton but Mulder had a 2006 team option in his contract. The Cardinals knew that they would have Mulder for at least two seasons. Any team that trades for Garland knows that they may only have him for one season. That hurts his trade value quite a bit in my opinion. Then we should just keep him. If he walks in 06, so be it. Will take the two draft picks and move on. I don't want to see us get fleeced in any deal involving Garland.

What's KW's next big move?
QUOTE(qwerty @ Dec 16, 2005 -> 01:22 AM) They want to move julio because he has looked worse each year for each of the least three years now. He is like all the hard throwing arms the tigers have had in their pen in the past. Projects that just end up getting worse when they should be getting better. Julio would be our worst reliever far and away next year and will likely be our most expensive. Say no to julio. Exactly. People think Marte and Viz are bad? Julio is f***in awful.

Possible Garland and Uribe
QUOTE(kevo880 @ Dec 16, 2005 -> 01:20 AM) I think he can too, however can he put it together for an entire season? I get a kick out of those who act like Jose was sleepwalking the first half. Jose had a damn good first half, IMO. He was excellent in April, May and the first part of June. He hit a little slump at the end of June and into July that saw his era jump up some. But he was very good most of the year.
