  1. Pretty good article for the most part. He forgets to mention that Kenny turned Aaron Miles into Juan Uribe. I also think he was way off on his Podsednik comment.
  2. I'd keep Williams. He's had a good rookie year and should only get better. Mcgahee kinda dissapointed this year.
  3. Wow, I didn't think they would be this bad. I don't even know what to say.
  4. QUOTE(SnB @ Dec 28, 2005 -> 08:57 PM) I definitely didn't expect to be undefeated at this point. The biggest reason for the illini being this good is because of jamar smith's ridiculous play for a freshmen. His shooting has saved us in several of these early games. Another win against another made up school tonight. The defense has been even better than last year, IMO. And, yes, Jamar Smith has been a stud.
  5. Anybody surprised at how good the Illini are? I didn't think they would completely fall off, and I know the real challenge will come when conference play starts, but they've gone above and beyond what I expected from them to this point.
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ Dec 28, 2005 -> 02:00 PM) BTW, just my two cents, but this makes me hate the Vazquez trade now. It sure doesn't make a whole lot of sense now. I guess will have to wait and see what Kenny's got up his sleeve next.
  7. I'm extremely happy to have Jon back.
  8. Happy B-day@Qwerty
  9. QUOTE(qwerty @ Dec 27, 2005 -> 01:21 AM) The same ben wallace who will sign a max deal and be 36-37 by the time the deal is over? His man to man defense is not nearly as strong as it was three-four years ago at this point but he help is still as fierce as ever. I know we are all disappointed in chandler but we really need a high percentage scoring man with better defense than sweetney's ( is awfu). Ben wallace is the wrong way to go for this bulls franchise in my opinion and i doubt we would end up getting him anyway. I want Nene. Assuming he's healthy, of course.
  10. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Dec 25, 2005 -> 10:14 PM) When did Kyle Boller actually turn into a serviceable NFL Quarterback? When the games didn't mean anything anymore.
  11. I know I've asked this before, but is the pick we get from the Knicks top 3 protected?
  12. The Bulls get waxed for the second time in less than a week by the Cavs. Thank god we've got that Knicks pick.
  13. Yall remember when that clown from Yahoo Sports said he would eat his laptop if the Bears won the division? It's time to pay up. I already emailed this sissy. Everyone should do the same. http://add.yahoo.com/fast/help/us/sports/cgi_robinson
  14. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Dec 25, 2005 -> 10:57 PM) Orton is horses***. On a side-note, Muhsin Muhammed sucks ass. Rex Grossman hit him wide open quite a few times, and he dropped at LEAST three balls, including a touchdown. Also, the lone interception Grossman threw came after he hit Moose wide open that would have given them a first down, except Moose dropped it. I like the guy, but he's getting paid way too much to not hall in those passes. This happened to Orton, too. Grossman looked fantastic today. His arm is sexy as all hell. I totally agree with you on Moose. The dropped passes are getting very annoying. He better cut that s*** out in the playoffs. We're not going anywhere without Moose.
  15. QUOTE(jenksd @ Dec 25, 2005 -> 08:59 PM) The stats for Grossman, like Orton, don't tell the story. Orton's stats do indeed tell the story. It tells us that he's horses***.
  16. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Dec 25, 2005 -> 01:30 PM) First of all I hope Grossman can do well. I am not sold on him (he had a 47.1 QB rating) and I don't think he is a great QB but hopefully I am wrong. With that being said you guys need to give it up for Kyle Orton. He had one of the best seasons for a rookie QB. Probably one of the best rookie QB's of all time. I think he has a future with the Bears and he is probably the Bears future QB. He needs to improve on some stuff like adjusting to not taking snaps from a shotgun. He played in a spread offense at Purdue and that is always a big adjustment for QB's like that who are now in the NFL (see Alex Smith). With all that being said give the guy his due instead of trashing him all the time. One more thing that Marv Leavy said that I found interesting. "Kyle Orton's 'management' of the season thus far has saved the Bears's management and their season." I'm speechless.
  17. Great, great game today. They scared the s*** outta me at the end there. The defense was so/so today. I don't think people realize how important Mike Brown is. Having the bye week is huge. All our injured soliders can rest up now. Congrats to the NFC North Champions!
  18. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Dec 25, 2005 -> 05:49 AM) Ya, great, he starts to play well again once I'm out of the playoff picture for fantasy. :headshake That's just bad luck. I'm the joke of one of my leagues for trading Larry Johnson back in October.
  19. This would've been a good idea 10 years ago or so. But the NBA is kinda garbage now.
  20. I don't think there's anyway in hell he starts off in double a. There's nothing for him to prove there. I think he'll probably start off in triple a. If he has a monster spring training, he could start the season in cf for the D-backs, especially since they couldn't land Lofton. As far as his numbers? I'll say around .250ish with possible double digit hr's and a decent rbi total. That, of course, depending on how many games he actually plays for Arizona. I know this is very selfish of me. But I kinda hope he flops. lol. It will take all the sting out of losing him.
  21. QUOTE(greg775 @ Dec 24, 2005 -> 07:55 PM) I love what Bobby did near the end but I don't trust he'll be the reliable closer all year, do you? I think Jenks is the real deal. If he were a fluke, I think you would've seen it in the playoffs. Outside of game 2 against the Astros, and it wasn't even all his fault mind you, he was money in the post-season. The only thing that can hold back Jenks is Jenks.

QUOTE(fathom @ Dec 24, 2005 -> 10:19 AM) Well said. Also, there are rumors of the Dodgers trading some of the same prospects we've talked about for David Wells. The Dodgers aren't giving up any of their top prospects for David Wells.
  23. Merry Christmas to everyone at Soxtalk. This has been the most amazing year of my life as far as sports go. I feel lucky I was able to share this magical year with all of you.
  24. That was the worst trade proposal of the modern era.
  25. QUOTE(knightni @ Dec 22, 2005 -> 04:13 AM) Royals are finally spending $$. Too bad it's on players that were good in 1996 instead of 2006. Sanders is still plenty good. He's just old as f***.
