Where do we most need an upgrade?
I would say bullpen. But if Vizcaino and Shingo pitch like they're capable, we're fine. If not, go out and get another reliever.

TRADE THREAD II ~ July 2 - July 8
QUOTE(danman31 @ Jul 4, 2005 -> 02:30 PM) You know he's fallen off when people are saying that. I don't think it's that. But you'd rather give up Sweeney over Anderson or Young.

think about it
QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ Jul 4, 2005 -> 06:55 PM) I like your reasoning, but you will find on here that many people severly overestimate what it would take to get a different player. I remember talk about Hudson. People going crazy, saying it woul dtake Bmac, Garland and 1 or 2 more players. Look what Oakland actually got for him. Not much. Even the recent thread about Chavez had us giving up the moon. It is probably a deep rooted complex because of the Todd Ritchie deal. Although after a few years, neither side seems to have had much success in that deal. However, on a different note, I don't want him, unless the price is nothing more than 2 mid-level prospects. The A's simply couldn't afford Hudson. It was in their best interest to get something for him or lose him and get nothing. Different situation.

think about it
QUOTE(hi8is @ Jul 4, 2005 -> 06:49 PM) ok, lets take a look at schmidt this way: he does have a bad ERA he is comming out of an injurt his velocity is down he did just have a very bad start he is owed 10.5 million with a 3.5 million buy out now, how many teams are going to trade for him... im sure a few want to how many teams will give up what the giants are asking for? none i think we might be able to get schmidt without having to give up contreras... i think that is a very big possibility... we might even be able to get him without giving up contreras or bmac his trade value is pretty low right now and we might be able to cash in on that if the giants keep losing.... their GM isnt the brightest penny in the bank Will have to give up a pitcher. No doubt about that. More than likely B-mac. I'm just hopin El Duque is at or close to 100%. If so, we don't need another starter.

NBA Trade Value List
QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jul 4, 2005 -> 11:13 AM) My ideal 12 man squad, the team that I'd send to smash all competition in the olympics: PG: Kidd/Tinsley SG: Pierce/McGrady SF: Artest/Prince/Bowen PF: Duncan/Garnett/Jermaine C: Shaq/Wallace Snubs: Amare Stoudamire, Dwyane Wade That team would struggle to win it all.

TRADE THREAD II ~ July 2 - July 8
The Giants have a lot of nerve to ask for that much for a guy with an era over 5. Pass.

7/3 games
Young's average has gone from about .240 to .265 in the last week and half. That's what I call SMOKIN HOT!

NBA Trade Value List
QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 01:16 AM) Man, it's gonna be beautiful when Chandler is contending for the Defensive Player Of The Year award on the strength of insane shot-altering ability, and gunning for a rebounding title. I could see it now, it's coming y'all. Whether it's next year, the year after, whatever. f*** all of that playoff talk...it's pretty damn obvious that the refs weren't even letting the dude play. Tyson is a very clean defender. I was heated after the vast majority of those calls were made, but I understod. He's still a baby in NBA terms, and he just doesn't have that league-wide respect, let alone playoff respect. You seen to have an obsession with defense. lol I bet your ideal team would be Dalembert, Chandler, Bowen, Artest, Hassell?

Notes: Second-half rotation set up
Sounds good to me. Hopefully, Hernandez has had enough rest. It's money time now.

We've gotta take care of business at home against these guys. I don't want the Twins gaining anymore ground on us before the break.

AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 01:10 AM) Crede has been having a pretty decent season actually for all the hate he gets, hate included from me, well not real hate just wanting of a replacement. his HR numbers and RBI total are good for a #8 hitter. I think if anything, we're all a little guilty of expecting too much from Joe. He had such a fabolous minor league career. Then that amazing two month stretch to end the season in 02. In my opinion, as long as Joe can give us .250, solid power numbers, and gold glove caliber defense, we should all be happy.

AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!
Big win tonight. With the Twins winning, I didn't want our lead to slip to 8 1/2. And it's always a good thing when we win in Oakland. Garland wasn't great, but he gave us a chance to win. Who would've thought he would surpass his career high of 12 wins on July 2nd?
