El Duque
I didn't catch any of the game until about the 6th inning. Did he look good? He get hit hard? How was his control? Did he have to throw a lot of pitches? Any feedback would be apperciated.

Luis Vizcaino
Thought I would give Luis some props tonight. He's looked a WHOLE lot better the last 6 weeks. It was huge to have him come in and shut the door in the 7th and 8th innings tonight. His era is down to 4.17.

Kwame to the Lakers
Check out this article on Kwame. Stern, but true. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...5071501705.html I also love how Laker fans try to spin Kwame off as being in the same situation Jermaine O'neal was in Portland. NEWSFLASH! O'neal had an all-star pf in Rasheed Wallace, a young Brian Grant, and a solid center in Arvidas Sabonis ahead of him. Who has Kwame had to go through? Popeye Jones? Jahidi White? Etan Thomas? Michael Ruffin? The dude is a total bust.

AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!
As long as we're not playing Oakland, we're pretty awesome. 11 game lead, baby!

Vlade and his pathetic flopping won't be missed by me.

Kwame to the Lakers
Phil is gonna have to earn every bit of that 10 million dollar a year salary to get this team back in contention. He's never been asked to coach this many young, unproven talents as what LA has now.

Garland looked nervous and shaky tonight
First all-star game, I'd be nervous as well.

And thats an AL winner!!
Well, we've got homefield if we make it to the series. Who won the MVP?
-
What would you do if the Sox won the World Series?
I can't even fathom getting to the World Series, let alone winning it.

He may not believe in dinosaurs...
QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 09:52 AM) I'm sure I'm going to get jumped on for this, but what if we traded Konerko? We'd have Gload...and we could put Dye at first...Everett in Right...and get something good for Paulie. I'm sick of this guy doing s***ty at the plate. He sat on 19 HRs for weeks...and he pops up or strikes out way too much....plus I doubt we're going to sign him next year. Konerko isn't going anywhere this year. Why trade for him when you can just go after him in free agency next year anyway?

Hell of a 1st half....
QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 08:43 AM) No one ever expected the White Sox to have the best record in all of baseball. What a great first half, if we play .600 baseball the rest of the way, we'll get in the playoffs for the first time in five years. If we played .500 ball the rest of the way, we're in. I'm not saying I want us to play .500 ball. We've got 76 games remaining. If we were to go .500 in those games, we would end up with 95 wins. That total would undoubtedly get us atleast a wildcard spot. But, of course, I'd rather us win the division.

Hell of a 1st half....
How good has this team been so far? They've had the lead in an astonishing 77 of 86 games played. They've been in first place since the first day of the season. They're a league best 22-9 in one run games. They're a league best 27-14 on the road. They were the first team to 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 wins on the season. It's been an amazing first half from these guys. Here's to a similiar run in the second half that would lead to our first playoff apperance since 2000.

In case you missed it...
QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 05:53 PM) The Angels, who have the second best record in the AL, just got swept at home in a four game series by the 39-48 Seattle Mariners. We aren't the only team that goes into funks. Enjoy the All-Star Break. Enjoy the Best Record in Baseball and a 9 game lead in the division. Only the Cardinals have a bigger divisional lead. Go White Sox. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/standings?ty...rder=false&st=2 You're the man Jd. I feel a lot better now.

Congrats Sox/Sox Fans
QUOTE(Benchwarmerjim @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 10:37 AM) James the Twins fan checking in here. (dont throw anything at me yet!) Well, its the All Star break and your team is running away with the division. I must give your team some props for an outstanding first half. I kept hoping for some sort of slowdown so my team can catch up, but it never happened. But I also must say, you Sox Fans here... you guys and gals are pretty cool.I had this thought about Sox Fans as just being a beligerant blowhards. Boy I was wrong. A lot of you are very passionate about your team, and a lot of you are very knowledgable about your team, baseball in general, and the whole world. And you cant knock a bunch of folks for that. Im not quite throwing in the towel, but 10 games is a lot of games to make up. But you never know And if your team does make it to the playoffs and my team doesnt, well youll have one person here cheering for ya James ok now you can throw things at me Thanks man. That's true class. Post here as often as you can.

Did Ozzie Leak It? He did!!!!
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 10:29 AM) 10-3, 2.58 ERA, 136 IP, 85 K, 5.63 K/9, 1.11 WHIP, .253 BAA The numbers say it all. The career backs it up! He's 10-1 with a 2.01 era against anybody not named Oakland.

Story on Bartman
I blame all this on Moises Alou. If he hadn't acted like a god damn fool, no big deal is made. The funny thing is, Moises acts like it would've been an easy routine catch had Bartman not gotten in the way. That was gonna be one hell of a difficult play either way. Anyway, you're still my hero Mr. Bartman.

TRADE THREAD III ~July 9 - July 15
QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 10:19 AM) The main difference between Dunn and Borchard is that Dunn actually hits the ball. My bad, you know Green means sarcasm, right?

GAME THREAD 7-10-2005 SOX vs A's
QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 10:12 AM) I don't want to put any pressure on the White Sox but needless to say this is the biggest game of the 1st half. Lose today & you take a 3 gm losing streak against a team that now looks like it will both contend for the WC & the ALW into the break. You will not see this team again until the post season. This team has done nothing but dominate you for 4 yrs straight & if they win today 2005 will rank as one of their most dominating performances against you. And this in a year where they said goodbye to their aces Hudson & Mudler. I recall all the SOXTALK fans counting the A's out but I never lost faith in Beane. The guy is flat out the best GM in MLB. He works with a lower payroll than the Twins & just take a look at his W & L record while GM of the A's. It's phenomenal. So when he traded Mulder & Hudson you had to assume he was getting good talent in return. The A's fans are now seeing evidence of that. What the team has shown me in the season series in that unless you can outpitch them (like Toronto recently did) you can't beat them. They have a even better balance in the lineup than the White Sox. Did you happen to notice just how many LHB's they have? They look like they have equal strength from both sides. That's a nightmare for opposing bullpens. Even more impressive is that it looks like 1-9 everybody can run on this A's teams. Even with Hudson & Mulder in years past the A's always slumped & dropped way past .500 before finding themselves & going on a tear. Looking at their 2nd half they have 22 games vs ALC teams, 8 vs LAA, 8 vs TEX, & 7 vs BAL. They clearly own their own destiny. They match up well vs ALC teams. Just like we do. So we better start thinking about playing them in the first round of the playoffs. That's why this game is as must win as any game can be in the 1st half. We must end the season series on a high note against the A's. We must shrink that overwhelming confidence we have against them. Otherwise we are looking for a 100 win season that will end quickly in the first round. Damnit, Juggs. I like it better when you just post some stats...lol..Now i'm really nervous about this game.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 11:45 PM) Cleveland is still trying to resign Iglauskis so If they get that done they wont have much more money left over. And they have to have some money to be able to resign Lebron to a Shaq like deal. They still have the MLE. I hear they're going after Antonio Daniels with it.

TRADE THREAD III ~July 9 - July 15
QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 10:05 AM) We arent gettting Dunn. That dudes untouchable. We don't need him. We've got our own Dunn like player. Ever hear of a guy named Borchard?
