AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!!!!!&#
QUOTE(rudylaw @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 09:46 PM) Cotts Cotts is the TITS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The tits? lol Anyway, tremdous pitching tonight. Jose is so good this year. Looks like Cotts is finally puttin it together. Hermanson was basically Hermanson. I would've liked to see a little more offense from our side, but i'll take the win. 20 games over .500

QUOTE(bulokis @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 02:21 PM) All of the recent articles pointing to the white sox picking Carrillo if he is there. Im surprised Carrillo was there but Sox did not pick him up. Same here. Oh well.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 02:07 PM) Great Falls would probably be the place, but if he signs quick the Sox could always use him in Kanny. Thanks.- Lance Broadway
Alright. I'll try and be positive. I admit, I don't know much of anything about this guy. Didn't even think he was anywhere on the Sox radar before today. But his stat-line is impressive. And I see those last 3 starts he had were against very good college competition.- Official Draft Talk Thread
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 02:03 PM) 2B or SS. Baseball America thinks he'll move to SS. And Round 5 has started. I meant in the Sox system.- Official Draft Talk Thread
Anybody knows where Getz would start?- Lance Broadway
I'm extremely dissapointed with this pick. Especially when Carillo, Bogusevic, and Hansen still on the board. So they draft a guy based on him having been lights out for a whole 3 starts?- Official NBA Playoffs Thread
QUOTE(Spiff @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 11:29 PM) We can thank Pat Riley's Knicks for that It's not just Riley. It was Mike Fratello. Jeff Van Gundy, Larry Brown, ect.- Shingo 04 please come back
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 10:49 PM) I'd just put more faith into a Crain or Rincon / Nathan combo going into the last 2 innings, than a Politte / Hermanson combo. Cliff and Dustin have pitched absolutely great so far, but they're bound to come down at some stage, as evidence by Dustin's last few outings. Well, going by that same logic, I don't see Crain mantaining a 0.76 era all year, or Rincon sporting an era under 2 I believe? Nathan is obviously solid.- Shingo 04 please come back
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 10:42 PM) I'd still take the Twins bullpen over ours even if that did happen. It's close. It will also be nice to see Luis pitch like he can. I think that definitely puts us over the top.- Jose Contreras the All - Star?
I'm VERY happy with the season Jose has had to this point. Gotta give some props to Don Cooper. He's done a great job with Jose. I didn't even realize he was limiting hitters to a .200 batting average.- White Sox vs. Rockies 6/6 game thread
QUOTE(BuehrleTheAce @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 09:40 PM) Shingo, Shingo, Shingo! Amidst ALL the doubters, I told ya I still had faith Easy to have faith with a 6 run lead.- AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!!!!!&#
This is what you have to do against the crap teams. Not just win, but DOMINATE. I think this is the best Freddy has looked since he's been with us. 22 straight batters retired. That's sick. Now Jose has gotta keep it goin tomorrow night. I want a SWEEP. None of this 2 out of 3 garbage. Not against this team.- Shingo 04 please come back
If/when Shingo gets back to his 2004 level, will have the absolute sickest pen in the american league.- Anyone want a familiar face for Bullpen Help?
I'm with the general consensus. HELL NO!- Scott Skiles
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 09:49 PM) I'll f***ing puke if I have to see the triangle ran without a total superstar who can make buzzer beaters all game long. Triangle offense is horrid, only reason it worked for the Bulls/Lakers is because they both had total superstars at the guard position who could bail the team out when the shot clock would die and the triangle wouldn't get the offense a good shot (happens way too much in the triangle). But we've got Ben Gordon.- Official NBA Playoffs Thread
QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 11:10 AM) I also wanted to point out how much the game has changed since the 70s and 80s. Here are your Defensive Efficiency rankings in 1989-1990. 1. Detroit 100 rating, 98.3 PPG Allowed 2. Houston 100.8 rating, 105.3 PPG Allowed 3. Portland 101, 107.9 PPG Allowed 4. San Antonio 101.2, 102.8 PPG Allowed 5. Utah 102.4, 102 PPG Allowed So, while Portland was one of the best defensive teams in the league, you'd never know it by looking at their PPG Allowed. Strange times. Even Detroit allowed close to 100 PPG, and they were arguably the greatest defensive squad in the history of the NBA. The game has slowed down considerably from those days. I remember reading an article on how there's close to 15 less possesions on offense for each team a game than there were during those times. And you have to look at expansion. Teams were so much deeper in those days. And like somebody mentioned, shooting and overall fundamentals were better at that time.- Official NBA Playoffs Thread
QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 09:23 PM) As a Bulls fan, how could you ever go for the pisstons? I don't think he's a Bulls fan. This is a dream match-up for anybody who loves defense. I suggest for anyone who likes fast paced, free flowing offensive basketball to NOT and I repeat NOT watch this series.- White Sox want Jeff Clement
QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 05:22 PM) I don't see anything wrong with Carillo. "Carrillo throws his fastball anywhere from 90-95 mph (touching 96-97), depending on the need, and he has shown scouts the ability to maintain his velocity deep into games. His fastball has excellent sink and life down in the zone from a three-quarters arm slot, and he went more than 80 innings between home runs allowed this spring. His curveball and changeup both can be plus pitches, though he pitches off his fastball so much that he tends to lose the feel for them at times. He’s athletic and quick-armed and should always have good command. " The guy has nice stuff and good control, is a proven winner, and is athletic and quick-armed. Even if he's only 6'2 165 like some think, he can put on 10 pounds of muscle in our system and be just fine.- LeoDaigle/ThomasCollaro
They need to move Daigle up to Bham. I mean, lets see what we've got with this guy. Because he's totally destroying the C-league.- Official Draft Talk Thread
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 04:49 PM) Not a very high ceiling, that's his problem. Seems like he has good stuff, but nothing real spectacular. Certainly a safe pick... Well, I have heard that his stuff supposedly won't get much better, but that it doesn't need to.- Official Draft Talk Thread
QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 11:52 AM) Does Carillo really throw 92-93 and can reach 97? I read that on Baseball America and I just can't believe it with his 165 pound frame. But if it's true, I would definately take him: Sox fan, good command, college pitcher, polished. He could be ready to take over for Contreras in a year or two. Then the rotation would look like: Buerhle, Garland, Garcia, McCarthy and Carillo. Looks good to me. I've heard from multiple sources that he definitely can. I don't see how we can go wrong with this guy.- Official Draft Talk Thread
