Thanks for the recap, Ottawa.

Official NBA Playoffs Thread
Let the showdown begin! This is the series we've been waiting for. The absolute two best teams in the eastern conference. On paper, this is the best ecf's match-up since the Magic and Bulls in 1996. I'm pickin the Heat in 6 or 7.

Give it up for Reggie Miller
What a performance by Reggie tonight. I knew he wasn't gonna go out like no punk. 27 points on 11/15 from the field. Unfortunately, the Pistons are the better team. Congrats to Reggie on a fantastic career, and good luck on whatever he does from this point on.

Willis gives JG some dap
Garland has taught me never to give up on young players too soon. Could you imagine if we had traded Jon and he was doing what he's doing now for somebody else? Think about that Eddy Curry Haters.

2000 Draft in Review
Anybody having trouble with futuresox.com? I can't pull it up.

New matchups for the weekend
I feel a lot better about this series now that it looks like Konerko and Dye are swinging the bats like they're capable.

Favorite Sox Ever? MarkB?
I'm not sure I would be a Sox fan today if not for Frank.
-
Iguchi: Team-oriented player
I haven't been keeping up with other rookies. Who are Tadahito's top competition for roy?

28-12
I'm extremely satisfied with what we've accomplished these first 40 games.

ARow rocks in 3-spot
QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 18, 2005 -> 01:09 AM) Do you remember that game, "Altered Beast," for the Sega Genesis? Yeah, I beat that game the first time I played it..lol

Brian Anderson
QUOTE(YASNY @ May 18, 2005 -> 01:07 AM) We need to keep Anderson in AAA till he cuts down on those K's. If we bring him up too soon, we'll have Joe Borchard, the sequel. Borchard, the sequel? Yikes!

ARow rocks in 3-spot
I knew it was just a matter of time before 04 Rowand returned. Now we just need Konerko and Dye to rise from the grave and will be set.

Bulls to pursue
QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ May 16, 2005 -> 05:43 PM) Michael Ruffin really impressed me in the playoffs. Has that guy been poppin' roids, or what? Donny, good role player and excellent teammate that he is, ain't worth the money IMO. Just say no to Kukoc. What I'd like to see: PG Rotation: Duhon/Hinrich/Gordon..gasp SG Rotation: Hinrich/Bell/Gordon SF Rotation: Nocioni/Deng/Ruffin PF Rotation: Chandler/Ruffin/Harrington C Rotation: Dalembert/Davis I just want a defensive squad, a freakshow if you will. That would be a sick team defensively. On offense? It would be horrible.

Bulls to pursue
Here's the entire article===http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/35996/20050516/bulls_to_pursue_kukoc_ruffin_and_marshall/ What do you guys think? I want no part of Kukoc. I would love to get Marshall back. He's one of the more underrated players in the league. I wouldn't mind Ruffin for the right price.

Game Thread 5-15-2005 Sox vs Orioles
I don't have a good feeling about this one, especially after watching Garcia get roughed up pretty bad. Contreras better BRING IT today.

5/14 Games
QUOTE(BHAMBARONS @ May 14, 2005 -> 10:21 PM) Barons 9 Jacksonville 4 Malone pitched well today 7 hits was misleading the only bad pitch Corwin made was his last a hanging curve to Joel Guzman but in all reality what is a bad pitch to him. Joel is an outstanding hitter. But That was the only Malone mistake today and I will go on record to say it was his best apperance since the surgery had threw some great Curve's for swinging Strike Outs of Russell Martin, Delwyn Young, Jon Webber and twice to Todd Donavon who reminds me of Cory Patterson a lead off hitter with plenty of speed that will not use it he in the series is 0-10 with 5 K's. Ryan Sweeney was 3-5 today with 2RBI's what impressed me was he hit a line drive to center for 1st single then with a runner on 3rd 2 outs he lined a hit opposite way on a great change-up from Stulz. Casey Rogowski hit a moster 3-run Homer over the scoreboard in right center estimated at 475ft. Jerry Owens had a rocket double in the 6th run 3rd. Dennis Ulcia had an awsome return throwing 3 scorless innings with a great cutter to strike out Titus Meadows. The White Sox's Brass was in town for toinght's game. Tomorrow Heath Phillps takes on Derek Thompson. Thanks for the recap.

Zambrano yanked again
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 14, 2005 -> 10:04 PM) You're right about that. He's had those cramps a few times. Forearm stiffness the start after Dusty leaves the 23 year old stud in for 135 pitches. I hope he's managing the Cubs for the next 25 years. He won't because they will run out of pitchers with his abuse. I called that one. I had a feeling something was gonna happen after throwing all those pitches.

Move over Lebron. Dwane Wade is the new golden boy, atleast for now. Man, what an unbelievable run he's on right now. If Shaq is healthy, I don't see ANYBODY beating them.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 14, 2005 -> 01:45 AM) Up 2-1, and Larry Brown b****ing about the refs..... :rolly I gotta give the Pacers some serious props. All the s*** they've been through this season and, here they are, with a legitimate shot at knocking off the world champs and moving on to the ecf's.

AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 13, 2005 -> 09:54 PM) Does anyone think we could have one of the best 1-2 punches in all of baseball with Podsednik and Iguchi? Podsednik: .380 OBP Iguchi: .364 OBP It's like we have our own version of Juan Pierre and Luis Castillo. If that continues, we have a serious shot at the world series.

5/13 Games
QUOTE(BHAMBARONS @ May 13, 2005 -> 09:43 PM) Jacksonville 4 Barons 0 Barons could do little Billingsly and the troubling thing was Chad wasn't at the top of his game by means with only his fastball working for him tonight he hit 100 3 times tonight. Chris Stewart had 2 hits tonight and turned on 2 Billingsly fastball's Meanwhile Lubisich was on his game as well giving up 7 hits in 7 innings he made only one bad pitch and that was a hanging curve to Tydus Meadows that was deposited over the LF wall. B.J. LaMura pitched like he trusted his stuff tonight in the 8th inning he threw a 0-1 curve to Joel Guzman that dropped in for a called strike then blew him away with a 96 Fastball chin high. Then in the 9th to face Brian Sprout he got 2 swings and misses on fastballs then dropped in a great curve for Strike 3 called. Both Owens and Young's hit streaks are over. Corwin Malone on the mound tomorrow. I hope you guys enjoy the write ups I try and put in as much info as I can give. You're doing an excellent job. I really enjoy reading your recaps.

May 12 games
QUOTE(thomsonmi @ May 12, 2005 -> 11:53 PM) Sweeney's been on fire lately. He and Anderson will soon be making the Cell fans very happy. Those two are exactly the reason I was cool with the Jeremy Reed trade last year.

Buehrle story on ESPN...
QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 13, 2005 -> 12:16 AM) Also, during the Orioles vs. Sox game recap, they hyped up Garland as the All-Star Game's possible A.L. starter. Well, at this point, it's not even close. The only pitcher in baseball that's been better is in the national league.
