  1. This loss is certainly nothing to get crazy over. But I am worried about the offense. It's just two inconsistent. I thought the 10 run explosion Saturday would kinda get us going. We have to take advantage of a guy with an era over seven.
  2. Nice job, Cliff. Now it's time for the offense to come out of it's coma.
  3. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 9, 2005 -> 07:32 PM) 0-2 the pitch should of been up to get him to chase it. On 0-2 there is no reason a guy should be able to get wood on it. Oh well. He got some of it. It was a nice pitch by Cotts either way.
  4. Cmon, Cliff. We need to keep this at 2.
  5. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 9, 2005 -> 07:27 PM) Our pitchers tonight "collectively" having pitched a smart game. 0-2 and we toss something close enough to get wood on it. You get ahead and then instead of using a waste pitch, give them something to put into play. You can't get on Cotts for that. He made a good pitch. You can't do anything about those high choppers.
  6. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ May 9, 2005 -> 07:28 PM) WHAT HAPPENED???????????????????? It's 4 -2 Drays. A sissy high bouncer from Huff scored a run.
  7. Nobody better get on Neal tonight. He made some damn good pitches. Just some bad luck.
  8. Not a bad start for Garcia. His offense has done nothing for him tonight. Eventually, the offense is gonna have to step up, or else.
  9. If the defense can stay relatively healthy, I think this can be a 10 win team. I dismiss last years injury to Grossman as a fluke. All we need is the offense to give us 21 ppg. That's it. I think with Grossman for the full year, combined with the other additions made to the offense, it can be done.
  10. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ May 9, 2005 -> 03:11 AM) I remeber that great Colon game ont he 4th of July where Koch gave up the bomb to Crawford. Uh. LEt's erase those types of memories by taking care of business. As bad as Nomo-san is, we haven't had a lot of guys see him too much so hopefully we do take a good approach Please god no Botch memories. Anyway, Garcia has struggled against these guys the last few years. He better be on his game. Hopefully our offense can have it's way with Hideo, who's having a HORRIBLE year.
  11. It sure looks foolish now. I never ever wanted to make that deal. Not for somebody who's 40, even Randy Johnson.
  12. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 9, 2005 -> 12:06 AM) Hernandez and El Duque??? I think you mean Contreras. And yes, compared to the days of Carl Pavano @10 million per season, Kevin Brown @15 million per season, and Jaret Wright @ about 7million per season, the Yanks would be longing for those 2. lol. My mistake
  13. Nice article. How pissed off are Yankee fans when they see what Hernandez and El Duque are doing now?
  14. This thread has totally gotten out of control. :headshake
  15. Spurs with an impressive victory against the Sonics. Sucks that Ray and Vlad got hurt. The Spurs are just insanely deep. What tremendous moves by their management by not only trading for Nazr Mohammad, but adding a potent scorer such as Glen Robinson, who had 16 big points off the bench tonight.
  16. QUOTE(backman @ May 8, 2005 -> 08:26 PM) who ever wins pistons, pacers is headed to the finals! I think the Heat will seriously have something to say about that.
  17. QUOTE(aboz56 @ May 8, 2005 -> 06:52 PM) Finally Pall is gone. Nothing personal against the guy, he just wasn't that good in the booth. I didn't think he was that bad. Just makes you miss and apperciate Hawk that much more.
  18. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 8, 2005 -> 08:10 PM) Yes, serious back problems because he was a fat, drunken slob. This is the same guy who criticized Frank for not playing hurt. And what happened to Wells that season? Yep, he got hurt and didn't play for the rest of the season. Where is David Wells right now? Yep, on the DL for the Red Sox. :headshake True. But other than that year and now, he's been fairly durable.
  19. I can't believe a 117 post thread came out of this. I was thinking about it, and adding Walker might not be so horrible. Like some have said, he won't face more than one batter the few times he does go out there. I realize that what the Sox have going right now is special, and nobody wants to see it get messed up, but i'll choose to trust Ozzie and his staff on this one.
  20. Already posted.
  21. Nice to see Mark gettin some love from other players, even if it's Wells.
  22. QUOTE(YASNY @ May 8, 2005 -> 05:16 PM) I can usually sit back and figure out why the team makes certain moves, but calling up Walker has me stumped. Is it because Tampa Bay and Baltimore are loaded with lefties? That's the only thing I can come up with as a possible reason. We are six days into a string of sixteen consecutive games without a day off. That may play into it. Agreed.
  23. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ May 8, 2005 -> 03:56 PM) I think that Dee's as good as gone now. This is gonna be a brutal year. What happened?
