  1. Huge ego? You would have an ego too if you were that good. Bad owner? He was there less than 3 years. He may not have helped them, but he sure as hell didn't hurt them. Liar? Oh please, WE ALL f***IN LIE!!!
  2. Did anybody know that Vlad Guerrero is a .235 career hitter with 1 grand slam during his career with the bases loaded? I was SHOCKED when I saw those numbers.
  3. Pitching is just like hitting. You're gonna go through a few slumps during a 162 gm schedule. Lets just hope it's not a long one.
  4. Marte in the 8th followed by Shingo in the 9th sounds good. I just worry about the rest of the pen. Cotts has clearly been a different pitcher since that start against the Twins. Politte has been bad more times than not. Jackson has been solid. Adkins has been struggling a little. Koch is well Koch. We need to go out and get another arm in that pen.
  5. The pitching hasn't been too good the last week. But we're still 3rd in the al with a 4.34 era. The starting pitching has been so good most of the year. I can't get too down that they're struggling a little now. I just hope it doesn't last long.
  6. You're right. If we do stay in contention all the BANDWAGONERS will show up and claim they've supported the Sox all year.
  7. Real tough call for, Ozzie. I think if Maggs was healthy you might just have to sit one of them. But, we're already at a loss with Maggs being out. We can't really afford to be without either Frank Or Paul.
  8. I wanna see this every night. School is out. The weather is great. The team is competitive. There's no excuses not to get our ass's to the park.
  9. That was a beautiful 9th inning by, Shingo. He made 3 very good hitters look flat out silly. I'm pretty sure he's the closer now. Even if Ozzie doesn't come out and say it.
  10. Those are great numbers. But, in the playoffs. We would need a quality left handed bat in the middle of our line-up. Doesn't mean it has to be, Beltran. But somebody.
  11. Damn, Reed down to .268. Nice to see Diaz pitch well even though he lost.
  12. I'm not sure. I heard something about them trading Contreas with them picking up most or all of his contract. I don't know. I'm just always leery of the Yanks around the deadline.
  13. Cubs win 10-5. I watched most of the game. Bartolo got rocked. I'm not talkin about cheap hits. The Cubs were hitting rockets all over the field. I guess it's easy to say it's a good thing NOW that we didn't sign him. But, I would still want him pitching for me late in the year or in the post-season.
  14. lol..What the hell?
  15. Do Harris and Lee still have their hitting streaks going?
  16. Notice How Cotts hasn't been the same since they dicked him around leading up to that Minnesota start? I can't stand the way we handle young pitchers.
  17. Like I said in another thread. This is gonna be one of the most EXCITING trade deadlines in recent memory.
  18. I'm really lookin forward to when they bring Borchard up. It's really put up or shut up time for him now.
  19. I say all of the above. But. I voted for "attending gms" one. If you're a true Sox fan. Get your ass to the park. That's the way I look at it.
  20. You're right. But it won't be funny if they go out and get the pitcher we want. They're getting desperate now.
  21. VERY nice. Pay your respects to the greatest team sports athlete of our generation
  22. I can't wait to see how these guys do right off the bat.
  23. NEW YORK (AP) -- Mike Mussina knew there was no arguing with pitching coach Mel Stottlemyre this time. Mussina left his start in the third inning because of tightness in his right groin, then the San Diego Padres capitalized on his absence to beat the New York Yankees 10-2 Friday night in their first game at Yankee Stadium since losing Game 2 of the 1998 World Series. With Brown already hurting to go along with the struggles of Contreas and Liber, the Yanks r hurting in the starting pitching department. They'll probably make an even bigger push at Garcia now.
  24. It all started with the Botch implosions.
  25. I agree. I don't wanna give up thr farm system for, Beltran. Especially with there being no gurantee we can sign him after this year. We need another starter and bullpen arm.
