Roberto Alomar was another lead off guy who was good at getting the pitcher to make a lot of pitches to get him out. Roberto would just keep fouling em off and keep fighting. Not only does this upset a pitcher but it gives the other guys on your team a chance to see what the pitchers got on that day.

ya .281 39 homers and 109 rbis is a pretty bold prediction.

ya wright getting clobbered last year and not lasting very long in a couple of games. I think if shoey keeps his era down he'll be alright

i like the sound of this Kris Honel guy. I've heard of him before but i never really knew what he could do. if he lives up to his potential he sounds like he could be a solid pitcher in the majors one day.

i think its good that ozzie is confident because if he stays confident then it might rub off onto the players. If ozzie gets his team to believe they are good enough to win the central division (which they are) then everything will be all right.

Fitzgerald's speed is often questioned whereas Mike Williams has speed. I think that Mike Williams would be picked higher then Larry and i also think williams is a more physical recicever then fitzgerald. I think Mike would be the first recicever picked in the draft.

I think Koch will be fine this year.

Dont know if i would say that the cubs have a worse offense then the padres and I completley forgot about Corey Patterson. If i remember right he was having an awesome year before he got hurt last year. I checked the numbers and i was right...in 83 games, he batted .298 with 17 doubles, 7 triples, 13 homers, a career-high 55 RBI and 16 stolen bases

no the yankees probably arent done dealing because they have a huge hole at second base to fill. They need another bat to fill the void of losing boone. I wouldnt be surprised to see another move judging by the mood steinbrenner seems to be in.

thats a good point. They have only played on team in the top 25 and they beat them other then that they have faced the usual atlantic 10 type opponents, so dont count on them to go to far in the tourney. I kind of look at them as a cinderella type team heading into the tourney because they possibly could beat a high seeded team but it wont be easy. I think this program is on the rise though. The year they are having should bring in some good recruits.

i would give this team a few years if Bill Wirtz the man who once said that winning a championship costs to much money, didnt own this team.

Cubs fans seem to just be cubs fans when it counts. Then when the cubs make the playoffss everyone seems to just come out of no where and start to say that there a cubs fan, just ridiculous. Sure the cubs get more attention every year but all i have to say is that we took 4 out of 6 from them last year when they were central champs. Its rough being a sox fan but i love it and im sure glad i wasnt born into cubdom.

I bashes the sox in a way but i think that this guy is hoping for the cubs to do the same thing or that its possible to have a solid team on paper but fail to meet expectations. This article is showing that it has happened and it could very well happen again. I really hope the cubs choke again because I cant stand to hear anymore about how good they are going to be. :fthecubs

ya st joes is in the atlantic 10 where there isnt many hard teams. i think St joes might get to the sweet 16, but i defenitly agree that west is good too. St Joes probably has the best backcourt in the nation.
