GAME THREAD: Sox (63-61) @ Sawx (70-53), 6:10pm CT
Win or lose, I hope the ugly inning doesn't set the tone for the road trip.

I was so angry my ears were ringing for a while. I've calmed down a bit, but that one play...pick up the ball...

But he could also whore himself out to 50 really fat chicks for $1000 each. Could be a lucrative road trip.

Anyone else here scared of these next 20 up and coming games?
QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 11:15 AM) Oh come on you know that's not true. Rios will be playing all over in the OF next year. Ozzie is horrible at making lineups. True. If Wise is still a Sox next year, Rios may not play at all.

Alexei v. Valentin at ss
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 11:25 AM) Alexei needs to grow an enormous mustache before I can make this comparison.

Alexei v. Valentin at ss
I agree that we haven't seen Alexei long enough there, but you can't help but be a little critical of his play. Valentin wasn't a superstar there either. If you compare what we saw of Jose and what we've seen of Alexei so far, I'd give the reluctant nod to Jose.

QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 11:09 AM) There's no way to not be terrified Unless yr just looking towards 2010 with Beckham/Peavy for a full year. And Rios...at least we won't be constantly wondering about who's going to play CF.

Hell, yeah I'm scared of the next 20 games. But, I'm sure Tiger fans feel the same way. Both teams have been trying to give the other team the division and so one wants it. I think, however, that the next 10 games may tell the tale. If the Sox man up against Boston, NY, and MN, and the Tigers continue to play the way they have been, the division should belong to the Sox.

The Finer Things In Life
Sam Adams sells a four-pack of glasses that are designed to get the most flavor out of a beer. The shape allows the brew to breath not be warmed by your hand. There are also etchings on the bottom to create a constant stream of bubbles. I was skeptical until my dad bought me the glasses. They actually work.

Road trip prediction poll.
The Sox have played tough teams fairly well...in spurts. This road trip will probably be no exception. I would like to think they could go 7-3 or better, but I chose 6-4. If the road trip ends with the Sox 2 games or less out of first, it'll be good.

Who Is Your Favorite Stooge
I think some of the funniest moments were with Curly, but I found Shemp to be one of my favorites. Interesting fact was that he was one of the originals, along with Moe and Larry. He left to do some solo stuff but eventually came back when Curly's health started failing. Curly's life was pretty sad, reading about it. He was very self-conscious about his appearance, his shaved head and baby-face looks being perfect for the Stooges. He began drinking heavily, was married and divorced several times, and started suffering a series of strokes.

Who Is Your Favorite Stooge
So, I was bored recently and did a lot of reading on-line about the Three Stooges. Actually learned a lot I didn't know. So, who's your favorite stooge? Who is your least favorite? Have any trivia nuggest about the Stooges?

The Finer Things In Life
QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 20, 2009 -> 06:43 AM) Sam's Oktober and Winter lagers are always solid. Sad to see they are still trotting out the putrid cherry wheat though. Has it improved any? Out of all the special releases and seasonals they do/did, that one and their cranberry lambic were the most unpalatable I think. Also regarding Sam, are there any fans of the Old Fezziwig Christmas ale? It's been years since I've had it since they only seem to include it in the holiday 12-packs and it usually includes cr@p like the cranberry lambic. I used to be able to find an occasional bomber, but haven't in a long time. I have a feeling it would be good not great if I had it now, now that there are so many excellent winter beers available. I don't mind the Cherry Wheat. It's not one of my favorites, but it's okay for one at a time. I do agree that the Cranberry Lambic is not good. As far as the Old Fezziwig, I'm a huge fan. Love the spices. I know it was in the winter pack last year, but I don't think I've ever seen it by itself. I wish Sam Adams would package a 12-pack of the Winter Lager, Holiday Porter, Cream Stout, and Old Fezziwig. Leave out the lambic and Boston Lager (you can get that by itself easily).

I have to agree that fall is probably the best season for beer. I love the Octoberfests and darker beers. Sam Adams already has a Harvest Mix out with Octoberfest, Brown Ale, Cherry Wheat, and Dunkelweizen.
