Sounds like about what we expected, at least for time lost. It's going to be an ugly 4-6 weeks from the catcher's spot...offensively and defensively.

Precautionary? Maybe? Hopefully?

It's a shitload of money, but damn would that solve some immediate and long-term issues for this team. If the Sox ate the entire cost, you'd think they wouldn't have to give up much. Could you imagine the Phillies fans reaction, though?

It would definitely be bad if he's out for the season. There isn't any FA catcher who could realistically help, and adding a good catcher to potential trade targets just complicates things. They Sox would most likely have to roll with Collins/Zavala for the rest of the year, and that's a scary thought.

Trevor Story would be nice, but he'd be a rental unless the Sox would try to extend him. Colorado may want too much for him for the Sox to be a real possibility.

Pretty sure we knew about the hand issue. He did look better yesterday, though. I don't think he'll need an IL stint based on what we saw yesterday.

Swing the fucking bat.

They always find a way…

WTF

‘Bout fucking time Yoan.

I’m only feeling good about Lynn and Rodon starts right now.

Signs of life…probably too late.

It just sucks that this team is struggling not because of Burger, Sheets, Hamilton, or even Goodwin and Leury being thrust into every day play. They’re struggling because of Anderson, Moncada, Abreu, Giolito, Cease, and Keuchel playing some bad baseball overall.

More than likely.

Dear god that must have been horrendous.

Terribly painful, and relatively short-lived. Seeing him walk into the clubhouse makes me hopeful.

Could have been one of those very painful calf cramps. I’ve rolled around on the ground after those. Hopefully it’s something like that.

At a minimum, that looks like an IL stint.

Not good at all.

These guys literally look like they don’t give a shit.

Horrendous at bat.

Dylan “Jekyll and Hyde” Cease.

Sox look completely flat tonight.

I see inconsistent Cease is back.

Or try not sucking.
