QUOTE(bmags @ Dec 9, 2006 -> 08:01 PM) I have oink, i use lossless, but I realize the vast vast vast majority of people are not audiophiles and don't know the difference, all things considered, I'm happy people are getting 192 kbps, because it is far superior to 128 You're right about quality between 192 and 128. But doesn't iTunes rip to any quality you want? (Obviously you can't download at 320, though). I usually download in vbr.

QUOTE(bmags @ Dec 9, 2006 -> 05:12 PM) he definitely meant the ipod store. And a lot of people use that store, considering the numbers, and that m4a has 192 kbps quality in a 128 kbps package. Bmags, do you need an invite to Oink so you can go far, far beyond 192 m4a?

QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Dec 9, 2006 -> 01:18 PM) so if someone on Soxtalk died that you respected you wouldn't spend time on the board talking with friends about the life of that person and do anything to honor your online friend that in all other regards you wouldn't be able to do in person, i.e. at a funeral? I mean it is a little weird, but I'm just saying... RPGers are odd people to begin with, maybe it's their way to cope. That being said, I would have killed people too Well, if it were in an online game where the entire point is to go around and f*** s*** up with magical powers and swords and axe's and hammers, that's how I'd honor the person's death. I'd play the game. I wouldn't hold an online funeral. What were they doing anyway? We're they going to put the player's body in the water? Was somebody logged in as his character and just standing there with it? I'd have killed all those funeral goers too.

I recently changed from AIM to Trillian. I'm satisfied thus far and would recommend it to anyone that frequents the online chat world. You can use all of AIM, ICQ, MSN, Yahoo, and IRC in that one client. However, the real reason I'm creating this likely worthless thread is, if anyone uses this program, can they tell me how to change the IM window settings so the window isn't ALWAYS floating on top of my other applications?

QUOTE(MEANS @ Nov 16, 2006 -> 12:11 PM) i'm pretty sure zune will not work with iTunes. Well, you're wrong. You just can't put DRM protected music from the ipod store onto the Zune. (Who downloads that crap anyway?) Though, if you're a Mac owner, a Zune won't work with your computer.

3 innocent people were killed in this incident. May they all rest in in peace.

The Official Soxtalk Poster Elections - Discussion Thread
BobDylan replied to NorthSideSox72's topic in The Filibuster
QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Dec 8, 2006 -> 05:11 PM) Talk about self-fulfilling prophecy. Everyone wanted this election to turn to s*** and guess what.... Pathetic. You finished in last 'cause I voted for you. Sorry. -
QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Dec 8, 2006 -> 04:22 PM) Are you sure?

They now believe the third shot was the actual shooter. They're saying the third ambulance to leave was the shooter. Reported that a fourth has been shot now.
-
2 confirmed shot, one in the head (in critical condition) one in the foot (in good condition) and there is word that there is a third shot but that hasn't been confirmed. Nobody knows the shooters motive, if there were multiple shooters, or if they're dead. It has been said they are still in the building, however. All trains inbound and outbound have been stopped.

Last time this thread was around I believe I was reading Bukowski's Ham on Rye. This time around, coincidence or not, I'm reading Post Office by Bukowski. QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Dec 5, 2006 -> 01:43 PM) I had a high school teacher compare my essays to Notes from the Underground. He was being way too flattering. Or maybe he just tried to trick me into reading the book. If you haven't read it yet, I'd recommend it. The narrator in the book is ANGRY. I always tell any angry person I come across that if they want to be angry, they best be like that guy.

Maybe I missed a thread, but what happened to the SoxTalk front page? Is it still there and I'm just blind to find the link? Otherwise, why'd it get taken down? Sorry that two got posted, not sure what happened.

I love stop motion, but that song was awful.
-
Yea, that makes no sense. It also makes no sense why I keep getting e-mails from German's about their anal sex cream.

QUOTE(iamshack @ Dec 7, 2006 -> 01:00 PM) That's untrue. We had a deal in place for Carlos Delgado in 94, and Delgado would waive his NTC, and thus, the deal was nixed. '94? What?

BobDylan replied to BobDylan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(kramer99 @ Dec 7, 2006 -> 03:15 AM) anybody think KW may turn around and trade Floyd and someone else for some like Crawford/baldelli?? Or do u think this it? Wow, welcome to the conversation. Your answer lies with in the 41 previous pages this thread contains. -
On the Bulls halftime report they said Garcia to Phillies for Gavin Floyd. Confirmation anyone?

Anyone want to tell me just how difficult it would be to send a human to Mars? I'd prefer a detailed answer but dumbed down. Thanks, yo.

What ever happened to pogs? And comic book cards? And Art Garfunkel? And Clearly Canadian? And Freddy Garcia's fastball? And the U.S.A. Olympic basketball team? And The Postal Service? And Alf? And 3rd Rock from the Sun? And Squidbillies?

QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Dec 6, 2006 -> 08:56 PM) I know Barry White and Bryan Adams... but not Bryan White. Ryan Adams?
-
QUOTE(bmags @ Dec 6, 2006 -> 06:30 PM) whatever happened to zippin Zippin' Pippen?

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Dec 5, 2006 -> 06:56 PM) Only 6800 votes? And he came in third?! lol. /voted. 2 times. Maybe it was a landslide. Maybe the first place vote getter got 1.234 billion votes.

I'm comparing William Carlos Williams short story "The Use of Force" to the film "American History X." I don't feel like thinking. Anyone want to help me bull s*** the crap out of this?

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 4, 2006 -> 10:12 PM) Orgasmic. The game is absoluty fricken huge. It takes minutes just to travel across Hyrule field. Its certainly long too, I heard about 70 hours. I'm 20 hours in and have only beaten 2 temples. It's a bit like OoT, but that's not a bad thing. I'd say OoT is only slightly better, but it's close. One of the things that REALLY bothered me about Windwaker was that it took forever to travel the map. First, the boat was slower than a turtle, and second, you had to adjust the sail to the wind. Hopefully it's different in Twilight Princess. They really should impliment things that prevent the player from setting out to a temple and having time and no worries to walk away from the TV, controller and game and make a cup of coffee. In A Link to the Past, they had guards and various enemies all over the place. Generally you could just run right past them, but they made other uses (i.e. hearts, rupees, bombs, arrows). (And if the Windwaker end boss battle with Gannon were longer, it'd have been one of the best boss battles in video game history.)

QUOTE(Texsox @ Dec 5, 2006 -> 05:27 PM) I would like to participate in the strategy making of a two party election. If it is as a candidate, that's fine, if we think that Rex versus someone else would be more interesting or entertaining, which is what this is, then I will step aside. I think there should be three parties because if there is an election next year, I will launch my own party. (Of course I have to get a certain percentage of votes to be on the ballot.)
