  1. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 17, 2015 -> 03:33 PM) It was fake, they even know it was made in Turkey. The passport was fake, but he was finger printed at a refugee entry point. So the terrorist, with a fake passport, was playing the part of a refugee. The validity of the passport is moot, a terrorist used it to get into Europe.
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ Nov 14, 2015 -> 10:25 PM) Does anybody else think the Missouri protest group could be a little less aggressive? Their list of "demands" is sort of obnoxious. Why use the word "demands?" Why be so pushy? I'd venture to say most of the students are Missouri at NOT racist. But if these troublemaker students keep it up (like at Dartmouth) I can imagine at some point people are going to rebel against them. Go up to the wrong person in a library and get in his face and tell him to declare his white privilege and you might get a knuckle sandwich from Bruno the lineman. Greg, the formal reason we don't negotiate with terrorists is that once they find out violence works, they will just keep doing it to get what they want. It wil never end. Colleges have been giving in to the f***ing crybabies on campuses for years now so they feel emboldened to 'demand' whatever their feelz tell them to. SOmeone needs to tell them to STFU and get back to class. And if they don't go to class, you fail them and/or expel them. That Mizzou Prez should have rescinded every scholarship of any player that refused to play. At some point the adults have to be in charge. I don't feel sorry for the university staff, they brought all this upon themselves. Now the liberals in charge know what it is like to be at the end of a SJW witchhunt. Have fun with that.
  3. QUOTE (chw42 @ Nov 14, 2015 -> 03:12 PM) I feel really bad for the vast majority of Muslims in America. The moment a terrorist group does something overseas, the right wingers come out and want all of you deported. No, they want the country to stop bringing in MORE.
  4. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Nov 14, 2015 -> 10:36 AM) Cmon. This has nothing to do with religion. It has everything to do with power, land, freedom, oppression, protection, greed- any of those things. People who blame religion for anything are very misinformed about religion. What's the most common canned opinion about religion that you hear? "Look at all the wars and lives lost because of religions." Most popular statement you ever hear, and it's totally retarded. People sure think they're smart saying it though. Men & women often choose to do horrible horrible things. With Islam there is no separation between religion and politics, they are so intertwined as to be the same. So you are both right.
  5. QUOTE (shipps @ Nov 13, 2015 -> 04:53 PM) So all of these separate events happened around the same time right? Have they yet to say for sure its terrorism? It obviously is but they havent officially said it I presume. ITV News @itvnews #Paris attacks is retaliation for targeted strike on IS militant 'Jihadi John', anti-terror source tells ITV News itv.com/news/story/201… Taken from the link on Yahoo main page.
  6. QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Nov 13, 2015 -> 04:41 PM) Freudian slip? More like arthritic fingers, but that was kinda funny. Usually I just get dyslexic on 'ing' spelling it 'ign. He actually works for his father who runs some sort of cheese distributorship out there. He was never very clear about it, so come to think of it, maybe he is a fiend...
  7. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 13, 2015 -> 04:32 PM) Not going to retreat to your 'safe space' like Balta? I also have a fiend that live in Paris, but so far he has not replied to my emails asking how he is.
  8. Hillary just came on TV and said this was all due to a Julia Ormond movie released in 1995
  9. Mt team bowled 1055 scratch in game 1 last night, and we lost by almost 100 pins. Lowest score on the other team was 220. Ouch. I had 205, 166 and 201. We were tied for second, only got 2 points so who knows now.
  10. Ever just lose your line in the middle of a game? First 7 frames last night were all in the pocket, got 4 strikes and 3 9 counts (all 10 pins!). Then the wheels fell off. 8th frame my bad hands took over and I dropped the ball early resulting in a nasty split. Then it seemed I could do no right. 2 more opens to end the game. Then 160's for the next 2 games that were struggles in themselves. We still got 3 points, and are tied for second at the moment.
  11. http://fox40.com/2015/10/27/florin-high-sc...dents-arrested/ OMG! They were just a couple of 15 year old kids!
  12. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 28, 2015 -> 12:21 PM) NSS already commented on it, no reason why the bolded wouldn't work either. Attacking her as he did or with a stun gun is absolutely not the right way to handle it. And when she starts kicking and punching you while you do that....
  13. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 28, 2015 -> 12:15 PM) No, there is definitely a victim here. The student not turning over her phone and not leaving the classroom when asked do not even come close to justifying the violent assault. If the officer in question was not a violence-prone authoritarian asshole who could not even handle a teenage girl defying his commands without physically assaulting her, none of this would have happened. He's the adult here, he's the professional with a badge while she's a bratty kid. He should absolutely have been fired for assaulting a teenager. OK, just how should he have handled it? Sat there and waited her out? Stun gun? Go away and just forget it?
  14. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Oct 28, 2015 -> 11:36 AM) Hes also hilariously hypocritical, but he probably knows that much. *Video doesnt show exactly what happened to cause altercation* *Cop is racist, school is racist despite no proof of exactly what happened* *Student did nothing wrong, doesnt have to follow school orders or police orders and if you disagree youre racist* As others have said the cop definitely overreacted and I couldnt care less if he was fired or not but maybe, JUST MAYBE if that student acted responsibly none of this would have happened. There are no victims here, just two idiots. personal responsibility? That's racist.
  15. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 28, 2015 -> 10:13 AM) Plus, you know, the massive corruption swirling around him. Like the stuff around Hillary? Oh wait, she is a Dem so that gets whitewashed.
  16. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 26, 2015 -> 03:54 PM) I am having just as difficult of a time finding stories of hero vigilantes stopping mass murders. weird how that works and I assume you would be cool if that was your own kid that a vigilante killed. No big deal, just collateral damage? Well if they STOP it early, then it isn't a mass murder, is it? And then you can say there was 'no evidence' that they saved more lives, because they didn't take more lives. Hmmm. And FYI, I am not using my cc to save anyone other than myself in most cases. i have no obligation to rush into a hostage situation, my obligation is to protect me and mine. If there was a clear opportunity to prevent something, then i would surely weigh the risks/rewards, but the thought that everyone with a gun will just pull it ou and start firing blindly towards a bad guy are just plain stupid and insulting. The police don't have an obligation to protect you, neither to concealed carriers.
  17. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Oct 26, 2015 -> 04:25 PM) Interesting I find it funny they always complain that the studies aren't 'complete' because the Feds won't pony up more money. The antis have billionaires on their side who coudl fund this with pocket change. But they don't because then the methods will get more scrutiny and people will wonder why suicides are counted, and when they talk about school shootings, why do they include things that happen 2 blocks away, or people who were on the street outside the school at night just because they randomly happened to be there. Number will change.
  18. QUOTE (Tex @ Oct 26, 2015 -> 09:58 AM) Did they offer a reason why? Perhaps the gun legislation was working? You mean all the states that passed concealed carry and the repeal of the assault weapons ban?
  19. http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/gun-deat...article/2574770 Data from the FBI and Pew Research Center show that all gun violence has declined since the Clinton era, though suicides blamed on guns has ticked up. In a new report, Pew said that between 1993 and 2000, the firearm murder rate dropped by almost half, from seven homicides to 3.8 homicides per 100,000 people. It also said that all gun deaths -- murder, suicide, police and accidental -- have dropped 30 percent since 1993.
  20. Mosr concealed carry states you have to be 21, so at best you would have 25% of the potential student body armed. And unless it was Constitutional Carry, they would have had to take a class and pass a test and background check (you know, one of those things that gun haters seem to think will stop all gun crimes). Balta, the fact that you think everyone armed with a gun is out to kill you says that you need some help. Someone carrying a gun (on body, like in a holster) is not considered a threat and if you were to shoot first, you would be the aggressor. It doesn't matter if your wussy feelings were hurt by the sight of the gun and you felt threatened by its mere presence. If that person were to draw the gun, you would have every legal recourse to draw yours and shoot back. And that isn't even using the dreaded Castle Doctrine, just plain ole self defense. And note, Greg said 'hopefully' he only shot him in the leg, not promising some super ability to only main. Tex, in general I don't have a problem with it. If the school isn't going to protect you or have the responsibility to protect you, they you should have every right to protect yourself by whatever legal means needed. I am not a fan on Constitutional Carry, so hopefully you need some sort of class down there. It would also help if our current crop of college students weren't such mental lightweights that are offended by everything.
  21. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Oct 22, 2015 -> 02:12 PM) That's the thing about bowling though. If you have a 180 average and bowl a 240, that's pretty damn good and you should win. But it's the same if someone with a 90 average bowls a 150. Sure the better bowlers can throw a 150 with their eyes closed but for a lesser bowler, that's a huge accomplishment. There's probably a reason they only have a 90 average. It all evens out in the end anyway. It's damn near impossible for anyone to consistently bowl 60 and 70 pins over their average, because if they do, their average will just keep going up. My team has a pretty good mix. Our averages are 126, 127, 149 & 187. We are in first place by 3 points and bowl against the 2nd place team next week. Nice. Keep it going! For the moment mine is in second place and for some reason I have the high average. Our anchor bowler is usually a little above 190 but he is down this year at 165! He just can't get a 10 pin to save himself this year. We have 3 160's 3 170's and me at 181 for now. (we have a rotation)
  22. QUOTE (KG#1 @ Oct 19, 2015 -> 08:26 AM) I think I was the one that started that bowling thread a few years ago... I still bowl in a league every year, but my game has derailed. I ended up around a 190 a few years ago, then around a 185 the next, a 180 the next and now I'm around a 170-175 most nights. I still have a good time every week, but my game has definitely gotten worse. Mine has gotten both better and worse. I have a much better shot now so I hit the pocket more and with more authority, but my failing body (bad knees, bad feet, arthritis in hands) has me doing weird things. i swear no to approaches are the same, and at least 4 or 5 times a night I will drop the ball well before where I need to throw it. I have gone up to the low 180's now, but could be more if I was in better shape.
  23. Nice games Code. And about the capping of handicap, I have seen it done before and I think it makes sense. My Tuesday league because one huge mix of teams after 3 leagues all lost teams and merged. So we have all guy teams, all women teams and some mixed. Just this last Tuesday we bowled one of the all women teams. The highest average on the team was a 135. Well, their 90 average bowler got lucky and bowled the first 3 frames as strikes. She had her average by the 4th frame, and the rest was gravy. It is just easier for a lower average bowler to bowl more pins over than a higher average bowler. To match that lady's score for the game (she had a 150-something) I would have had to bowl a 240. I didn't bowl a 240. I bowled a 200, but not 240.
  24. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 14, 2015 -> 11:20 AM) I'd go with the agreement that's been received positively by arms control experts around the world. It's not a guaranteed thing, but pointless belligerence and breaking off negotiations is more likely to lead to them continuing to pursue a nuclear weapon (i.e. exactly what NK did) rather than becoming more a part of the international community and stopping nuclear weapons development. You are dreaming if you think that playing nice with them will stop their weapons development. Dreaming.
  25. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 14, 2015 -> 03:20 PM) I assume you realize that was their money, right? I only ask because I've seen a lot of people who seem to think the US is paying them tax dollars or something. Yes, I know that. We should just keep it as payment for putting up with their s*** and for breaking the agreement already. Where are these provisions for if (when!) they break the agreement? This admin supposedly negotiated in good faith, and the negotiating partners pretty much just gave Obama a big F U and decided to do whatever they want. Why? because they know we won't do anything. ANYTHING. Why negotiate at all if you are just going to let them do whatever they want? Why the pretense of an agreement? Keep the money. f*** them.
