  1. David Ortiz for MVP. I don't give a s*** if he's JUST a DH. That guy is a monster at the plate and has more clutch hits and HRs from the 7th inning on. It'll come down to him and A-Rod. But my choice is Big Papi.
  2. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 02:03 PM) Not trying to kick a dog while he is down but I am counting tonight as a loss thus giving us a 2 game lead. I did not realize Cleveland played tonight I thought they were off. As am I. Cleveland's next off day is Monday. Then they play TB.
  3. The old Drew Carey theme song: "Cleveland Rocks" "Yesterday" by the Beatles: "Under Pressure" by Queen & David Bowie
  4. We seen this guy 4 times already this year? How many times in the last few years? We still can't figure him out? The only hope tonight is the *cough* hot KC Royals keep it up, McCarthy pitches a no-hitter or we take enough pitches to knock Johan out of the game.
  5. This is what we have to do to Cleveland tonight: Garland: Another strong outing is a must. Our bullpen has been overworked lately. This would be a big win tonight. Johan is lurking tomorrow.
  6. My heart was beating faster than it should be. I was thinking to myself, how about a walk-off from anyone, then these f***ing Indians won't come back again. Finally that 1-0 pitch came to Crede. All was right with the world. I sprang from my Lazy Boy, woke up the dog (but made sure not to wake up my wife ) and replayed it on the DVR about 5/6 times. Then took the dog out to take a piss. All the while chuckling to myself that the Rally Crede worked. Had a beer in celebration and logged onto Soxtalk to share the delight with my fellow Sox fans. The best game I have seen in a while. Finally, went to bed a happy Sox fan. Which I haven't done in awhile.
  7. Don't know if this fits in this thread, but I thought it was pretty funny.
  8. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 12:19 PM) Must. . . resist . . tasteless joke . . .
  9. QUOTE(S720 @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 08:12 AM) After the terrific and heart-suspending game last night, I did not have a nice sleep at all. I only slept for 4 hours but woke up to a much better morning than Tuesday. And the coffee really tastes delicious this morning. Now I am ready to rumble... You didn't sleep good? I slept great. My wife was asleep by the time the game ended, but knew the outcome by my mood this morning.
  10. I'm in. Do you need gas money?
  11. RALLY CREDE......YES!!!!!!!!!
  12. It's amazing how an avatar on an Internet message board can be the difference in a baseball game!! Nice to FINALLY have the magic number in single digits. Oh, yeah. f*** off Cleveland!!!
  13. What's with all the Crede Manlove, anyway?
  14. Same 'ol. Same 'ol. Pods, LF ... Iguchi, 2B ... Everett, DH ... PK, 1B ... AJ, C ... Dye, RF ... Rowand, CF ... Uribe, SS ... Crede, 3B ... Buehrle, LHP
  15. Buehrle, this is like the 4th time in a row everyone here has told you to step up. Texas, Anaheim, KC. Now tonight. Ace my ass. If the Royals can tag you for runs, I can't wait to see what the Indians mashers do to you. :headshake Can you wear Contreras' jersey tonight, instead? JUST.f***ING.WIN. This team is killing me!
  16. I'm in. Although, I may need to re-stock my supplies of Tums and Pepto-Bismol while I'm at it.
  17. QUOTE(SouthSidePride05 @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 12:10 PM) Did you hear Hawk comment on how unusually quiet the crowd was? I was thinking it was very loud with a lot of electricity, and then Hawk says something like that?? Sox fans have been bashed year in and year out, and now our very own Hawk is b****ing about a quiet crowd, when it was obviously not?? That pissed me off. Then 3 times he got way ahead of himself, and called it wrong: Twice he says "Waaay back.. Stretch..Stretch..".. and the ball is caught 20 feet in front of the warning track. and then before Podsednik caught the ball which was almost a homerun, Hawk says "that's gone". I usually like Hawk and DJ, but last night was so freakin frustrating listening to Hawk. And to top it off, before the game was even finished, while the ball was in the air, Hawk says "Mark Buehrle vs Westbrook"... I hear ya. At last night game, I was in sec. 538 it was as if a bunch of Cubs fans were sitting next to me. Everytime a Sox hitter hit one to the warning track or even foul! People would stand up and cheer as if it were gone. Watch the outfielders!! BTW, whoever is going tonight, please bring a Travis Hafner Voodoo doll with you. Thanks.
  18. He has a right to be pissed. Also, I see Mariotti throws in how he failed to obtain a bat. Must we get into that again?
  19. Went to the game tonight. Let me tell you. It was a like a ghost town until the rally. Then, all hell broke loose. Aboz hit the nail right on the head. Apparently, Neal Cotts can't pitch more than one inning. As soon as Marte was brought in, I just had a feeling. His first two pitches were off the plate. Usually, when he's brining it, he's throwing strikes. This game felt like someone hit me over the head with a brick. Buehrle better grow a pair tomorrow.
  20. Only thing different I see is AJ 5th and Rowand down to 7th.
  21. Pods, LF Iguchi, 2B Everett, DH PK, 1B AJ, C Dye, RF Rowand, CF Uribe, SS Crede, 3B Garcia, RHP.
