Plane Crash Former Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker has been left critically injured after a Learjet crashed while departing from a South Carolina airport. 4 people were killed (two crew members and two passengers), while two people - including Barker and DJ AM, a famed Hollywood DJ - were injured. Hospital spokeswoman Beth Frits says Barker and DJ AM, whose real name is Adam Goldstein, were at a burn center in Augusta, Ga. Barker had performed Friday night at an event alongside Perry Farrell, the former Jane's Addiction singer, as well as Gavin DeGraw and DJ AM. It was not immediately clear whether any of those performers, aside DJ AM were traveling with Barker. Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said the plane carrying six people was departing shortly before midnight Friday from Columbia when air traffic controllers reporting seeing sparks. She said the plane went off the runway and crashed on a nearby road. Bergen said the Lear 60 was headed to Van Nuys, California. She was unable to confirm the names of who was on board the plane.

I've never seen the show Dexter (though i've heard good things ) but OMG this is some scary real-life stuff from the set.... The National Enquirer reports in this week’s issue that actor Jimmy Smits, who plays district attorney Miguel Prado, stabbed an actor in the chest several times during a scene in which he accidentally picked up a real knife that was inexplicably put right next to a fake prop knife on set. Smits stabbed actor Jeff Chase in the chest with a knife he assumed was a prop. He easily could have killed him, but as luck had it Chase was wearing a chest plate, which saved his life: Dexter star Michael C. Hall screamed in horror “Stop! Stop! Stop!” as fellow actor Jimmy Smits stabbed another actor repeatedly in the chest with a real knife on the set of their hit show. The shocking September 5 incident occurred after a real knife was mistakenly placed next to a theatrical prop knife. “During a horrific execution scene with actor Jeff Chase, Smits was so into the part he kept stabbing Chase ferociously with what he thought was a fake knife,” a shaken eyewitness told the Enquirer… Smits was so caught up in the emotionally charged scene, it took him about 16 seconds to stop. “By a miracle, Chase escaped without a cut because he had a protective chest plate on underneath his clothes,” said the source.

I fsaw the Burn Notice season finale last night. I thought it was very good though it didn't answer a couple questions I thought it would. Oh well...i guess I'll stick around for season 3.... By the way...i know there are a few fans of BN on here....i saw on the USA website that they are promoting new episodes of the show coming this winter....not next summer! I guess they will move it up for a 'mid-season replacement' show or something. Either way we won't have to wait till next summer to see more of it.

i guess the Sun-Times threaten to sue if Jay went to Trib..... Jay Jay Mariotti Cannot Write For The Chicago Tribune It’s been just about three weeks since Jay Mariotti “resigned” from his columnist gig at the CHICAGO SUN-TIMES, and they’ve been an odd three weeks for Chicago sports fans. Without Mariotti telling them why all Chicago teams suck, fans are actually enjoying their team’s division races in baseball, and there is even some optimism about the Chicago Bears after the way they beat the Indianapolis Colts in week one of the NFL season. When Mariotti did leave the CHICAGO SUN-TIMES he did so because he said it was his belief that newspapers were a dying business (though there are conflicting stories going around that Jay threw a hissy fit over Rick Telander getting to write a Barack Obama column and threatened to leave for the millionth time, and this time the SUN-TIMES just called his bluff). I believe his exact words were: “I’m a competitor and I get the sense this marketplace doesn’t compete. Everyone is hanging on for dear life at both papers. I think probably the days of high-stakes competition in Chicago are over. To see what has happened in this business. … I don’t want to go down with it.” So that must be why Jay was in negotiations with the CHICAGO TRIBUNE until lawyers from the SUN-TIMES threatened to sue. From the TRIB: Mariotti and Tribune “talked about television, about the Internet, about the newspaper,” he said. Mariotti said that discussions about working for Tribune Co.’s Chicago Tribune newspaper became a stumbling block. “The Sun-Times’ lawyer threatened me with a lawsuit in 64-point type. Things sort of stalled,” he added. “At one point last week, there were lawyers on both sides looking into this,” Mariotti said. “It’s daunting to put together a deal. This [lawyer’s letter] got thrown out in the middle of everything. We both decided that we can’t do what we wanted to do.” Considering the way the SUN-TIMES acted after Mariotti’s resignation - having all their columnists slam Jay publicly (Roger Ebert even got in on the act), and even running a front page banner featuring Deadspin commenter Pete Gaines telling people to come back to the paper because Jay was finally gone - it’s not exactly shocking that they would do everything in their power to keep him from joining their main competition. There’s also the distinct possibility that it wasn’t so much the threat of a lawsuit from the SUN-TIMES that kept the TRIBUNE from hiring Jay as much as it was the rest of the TRIBUNE’s staff now wanting to work with Mariotti. Whatever the case, just because Chicago is now safe from him, Jay does say he’s still having conversations with other national media outlets. Just cross your fingers that one of them isn’t your hometown.

I guess Obama doesn't need LL's help..... LOS ANGELES — Lindsay Lohan's efforts to stump for Barack Obama were reportedly thrown back in her face by the Democratic candidate's campaign ... and her father is none too happy about it. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, LiLo wanted to promote Obama but was turned away by his camp due to her wild ways. Now daddy Michael Lohan is biting back. "For Barack Obama to condemn my daughter for past indiscretions when he admitted to the exact same himself is indicative of what kind of president he would be," Michael Lohan told Pop Tarts via e-mail on Wednesday night. "His visions of a positive future for this country should be representative of a positive future for people as well. It is looking beyond the difficult times and letting go of the past," Michael said. "Obviously, Obama can do this for himself and not others, when in fact a good president should have hope for all." Michael and his famous daughter have had a rocky relationship in recent weeks, but he had nothing but nice words for his little one in his e-mail. "Lindsay is gifted — she has a wonderful heart and she can and will affect millions of people in a very positive way. She is here to stay," he said. "Obama might have eight years, and then he will be giving lectures. Who knows, maybe Lindsay will give him a part in one of her movies."

QUOTE (shipps @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 02:27 PM) I dont know what it is about sports radio.I used to love Mully and Hanley when they were in the 10 to 12 spot and was elated when North was taken off the air and replaced with them. But now I cant stand them, they laugh hysterically at everything throughout the show. The Big Dugg segment blows.Mully just annoys the hell out of me now. I dont know if its just because at that time in the morning Iam going to be annoyed by anything or if these guys change when they get the big time slot.Their show just doesnt seem the same as before. Everything you said they did in the morning slot was the exact reason why I couldn't listen to them from 10-12. I haven't been a fan
