Wow...the cringe in this thread is off the charts. How are the possible deals with Machado or Harper leaking to random no names every 20 minutes? Apparently these professional deal makers have more leaks than a colander. I pop in this thread a couple times a day and just scroll through repetitive theories...and random twitter posts with no connection to anything. I met him once at a gas station couple blocks from my house, during the offseason, around the first year he was with the Phillies. Awesome guy. Peoria Chiefs is the team, and it's alternated 3 or 4 times since early 90s between the Cubs(Mark Grace was one I believe) and Cards(Albert Pujols) as their Single A team.

Pretty sure, born and raised in central Illinois...his family I went to school with leaned towards the Cubs.

I can see using some chips for pitching, however if that's the 5 outfielders the Sox are using in 2021, that means they weren't needed for trades and our pitchers are good enough without needing to trade for one. I like that future hehe.

Avi will outperform Jay by a lot If he's healthy all year. If he plays his average 110/120 games, he will still outperform Jay. Defensively is another question though, the Rays have Keirmeyer and Pham in the outfield, two great defenders to cover for him...hell, Avi will probably spend a lot of time at DH. keeping him off the field to possibly get injured.

My brother is a diehard Cardinal fan, he laughed at anyone calling them a mystery team for Machado. There is no need for him at what he's asking...says the Cards wouldn't go beyond 6 years, and that he doesn't fit their plan. Harper would make more sense, but since they have Goldschmidt they're probably looking at filling other holes they need like the bullpen. If they didn't make the Goldy deal he said Machado would make more sense. He'd be extremely surprised if they're in on him, no where for him to play.
