  1. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 08:04 PM) All the rumors I've heard (from Red Sox fans and in Boston) say that Kapler took the time in Japan to clean out his system. Every single Boston fan I know, which excludes redandwhite apparently, believed Kapler was on steroids. Being a "gym rat" is absolutely no defense against steroids. You have to work out to get the results, and the more you work out, the better the results. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> excludes?
  2. QUOTE(Pauly8509CWS @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 07:48 PM) Dont you think that the OF'er would be Gabe Kapler, who mysteriously signed to play in Japan, and now is back? I know you said big names but Kapler is the obvious choice for me... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Gabe Kapler is a bodybuilder. He's always had that type of physique. It's a good bet that he has experienced with AAS in the past, but I would bet a hefty amount that he is doing no such usage now.
  3. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 07:37 PM) Yea.. I know. Another start to some more bulls***. :headshake <{POST_SNAPBACK}> In all seriousness, I wouldn't be surprised if either tested positive.
  4. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 07:35 PM) Good grief. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There was no green on that post,
  5. My brothers freinds sisters daughters freinds brothers father works for Major League Baseball and told me that your freinds report was false.
  6. QUOTE(TheDybber @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 06:41 PM) HOLY CRAP!!! No team has ever lost 4 games in a row...and still made the playoffs!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Obviously your joking, and obviously first place ball clubs do lose 4 games in a row from time to time but this team right now seems helpless. Hopefully Buehrle will be the stopper tonight.
  7. PH, I hope you had an awesome birthday. Report back on fh with the good news, ha.
  8. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 02:54 PM) Oh, and I know whats coming next: Only at Soxtalk, or This is why I come to Soxtalk, or, I expect this from Soxtalk. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You guessed it. Only at Soxtalk... At any other board you would have been warned by now, and threads like this would never have gotten to this point. Once again, only at soxtalk.
  9. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 02:45 PM) And for the record, you are disloyal in my book. Being that you are a "die hard" Red sox fan. Picking a team to cheer for that directly competes with yours is pretty stupid IMO. Moving towns does not force you to conform to the city's fanbase. With today's TV rights, and national broadcasting, we have the freedom to watch our team even from another area. Being that you are still very young, maybe it was a youth thing. Its a good things you are a White Sox fan I guess, but for me, one of the best characteristics of the WS fanbase is our devout loyalty to our team, not the conveinence of it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I am the most loyal person in baseball and out of baseball. Saying anything different shows your ridiculousness. I am not conforming to any city's fan base other than Red Sox Nation, however I choose to watch the White Sox over the Cubs living in the Chicago area for many reasons. One being price of admission, one being Frank Thomas, one being that I'm an American League fan. The list goes on and on. I had MLB.TV last season but would rather save my hundred dollars on other things choosing to watch on Gameday instead. I am going to be a senior in high school, age has nothing to do with anything. Do you want my life story too? I could try and write that up for you if you need that to vouge for my loyalty and personal attributes that have nothing to do with White Sox or baseball whatsoever. The next poll should be on a scale of 1 to 10, how pathetic you are. :headshake
  10. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 02:41 PM) Troll huh? He can do whatever he wants, it makes for great comedy and great sig material. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Can you further explain? what comedy do you see in my posts? what "sig material" things have I said, ever.
  11. QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 04:17 AM) Why dont you just let the guy just do what he wants? You f***ing tools. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Don't worry about it. It's expected on this board. Now, so the best sig is...
  12. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 11:22 PM) so who were you rooting for over the weekend? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm a Red Sox fan, I root and follow the White Sox so I was obviously rooting for the Red Sox. Being a baseball fan who moved from the Boston area to the Chicago area and given the choice between watching the Cubs or White Sox on a daily basis, I chose the White Sox over the Cubs. P.S: Steve, your original post followed suit with what I would expect on Soxtalk, however the apology was not expected, and therefore appreciated.
  13. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 10:39 PM) If some goof named Matt Murton stolen from the Red Sox can contribute immediately for the Cubs, shouldn't be too much to expect for Anderson. I expect quality results from the best hitting prospect in our organization. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Matt Murton was a very good prospect. When the trade was initially made, most were calling for Theo's head for adding Matt Murton over David Murphy.
  14. A disloyalty? Are you freakin' kidding me? I come to Soxtalk for the peanut gallery, and today I definitly got my moneys worth. You two are f***ing pathetic.
  15. Can anyone get this link to work for me?
  16. I'm not going to add anything worthwhile to this thread, I'm not even going to add a smiley that reads "Go Sox." I make this post only to pad my post total. Sincerely, half of Soxtalk
  17. QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 07:17 AM) Does 'very solid' work for you? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I prefer extremely solid, jeez.
  18. Feel free to make one, all will be used at one point in time.
  19. QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 06:58 AM) It all depends on your interpretation of the word. I think solid says quite a bit about a pitcher. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> In my opinion, someone like Jose Contreras or Orlando Hernandez are solid starting pitchers; Mark Buehrle is in another league compared to those two though. Whatever floats your boat I guess.
  20. QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 06:48 AM) Totally. Any tool with half a brain should realize that MB's a quality pitcher. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The word solid was a little misleading, good man.
  21. QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 06:22 AM) Buehrle is not an ace in the classic sense of the word. He is, however, a very solid proven major league pitcher that any non-insane ML GM would love to have on his team. Mark Buehrle is an asset and I'm damn glad he's on the White Sox. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Very solid? I don't think there are five starting pitchers in the game who I'd rather have and only Johan Santana, both 26, would I rather start a team with. Would you disagree?
  22. AP: Ortiz hit a 2-2 pitch into the left-field seats when he went for the same inside pitch Buehrle had thrown to him several times. ``I finally went, OK, I've got to give up on my pitch and try to look for his pitch,'' Ortiz said. ``That was the only reason why I hit it.'' *** Buehrle might be able to shake off signs but its AJ calling for that same spot that Ortiz had seen "several times."
  23. This series was a quiz, this weekends series is the real test. Like Gene Honda Civic said.
