QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 06:47 AM) LOL. Some of them still lurk and read everything you are saying.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well I never was a fan of talking behind peoples back, so to be honest I'd prefer them to see that.

Reading up and down this forum on the topic of steroids, all I can see is ignorant, baseless remarks that make zero sense. "They'll kill you!" "You might be good for five years, but your dead after that" "Lyle Alzado!" Yes I believe it is cheating if you knowingly take steroids as an athlete, but this is not what I am here to discuss. The bad rap that steroids get make me sick, and until today, I hadn't been able to find something that expresses how I feel. Before I post the link, I just want to say I am in no way bashing anybody here. http://www.lstoo.com/upload/HBO_Steroids.wmv

There is no song I'd rather sing along to with a large group of people that "Sweet Caroline." Have an awesome time.

Stanozolol is Winstrol and is nearly useless for most without stacking with Dianabol or Danatrol. However: More: So it could very well be that he took the drugs before the season/testing started or he could be telling the truth that he unknowingly took them in liquid form with water, which even though unlikely could very well be the case. There are many options but a personal trainer could have placed some Winny in his water during a workout, or anywhere for that matter. Or he could have said "here drink this, this stuff is great" and Raffy unknowingly took it.

Voted. Yea. Ace and Doug were brutal.

QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 11:28 PM) You were asked to give an opinion on his glove in 2005, not 1999. Right now, he is without question a below average fielder when you add everything up. Maybe he is solid when it is hit right to him, but his zone rating is pathetic. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I see little to no drop off in his defense this season watching him on a daily basis. I was shocked to find out his zr and rf were so horrid. In all honesty, its hard to fathom. -

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 07:16 PM) Mueller is an above average third baseman with good range and a good arm. He's not a gold glover but is annually in the top five in every defensive statistic that matters. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> keyword in bold. -

QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 04:02 AM) Really? I know that he used to have a damn good glove with the Giants and the Cubs, but I heard that he has mostly sucked it up defensively over the past couple of years, to the point where people are kind of baffled because defense was always a given with Bill. I'm not really in the habit of checking out Red Sox games, but that's the word, big bird. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, really. -
QUOTE(beck72 @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 09:01 PM) Shhhhhh, the Red Sox might hear you Let them hit the panic button because the Yanks are on their heels. The white sox would probably fare better vs. Burnett than Arroyo anyway. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There is no panic button in Theo Epstein's office.

Theo Epstein two days ago was doing a pregame interview as he always does for the New England Sports Network as a prelude to the thursday Red Sox/Yankee game, that I attended. Theo was talking about the addition of Curt Schilling and the demotion of Kevin Youkilis and it was a very interesting little piece. He said something along the lines of: "Youkilis was only demoted because he was one of few players left with options, and that he would play a major role in the last two months of the 2005 season." I didn't think much of it when he was saying it, but he made a wierd face, and a little jerk that he has never done before in an interview leading me to think he said something that he wasn't supposed to have said. Whether that means Bill Mueller could be traded as was written in the globe a few months ago or not, it was interesting to say the least. -
I almost forgot, Jason. The whole point of acquiring a top flight starting pitcher would be to move Arroyo into the bullpen as your long relief/righty specialist nearly perfect for the 6th, 7th, and even 8th innings.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 06:02 PM) Whether its the BoSox (they should be looking at a reliver or two, imo) That, and because Theo and Bronson put on a show last night, and are good freinds and play music together, makes it unlikely. or how about having Mueller and Youkilis ready at third which makes it even more unlikely that Lowell will be apart of the deal. I almost guarantee that nothing comes of this rumor unless of course the Abe Alvarez, Kelly Shoppach (second tier) prospects can fetch Burnett, but according to my freind who works for the Marlins "unless there blown away" looms large in my mind and by my estimation a fifth starter, and a backup catcher won't blow them away.

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 02:52 PM) Hey if they want to give us Robinson Cano, they can have El Duque. Otherwise, f*** off NY. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What attracts you about a terrible defensive player, with horrid range, that lacks the power to play first or third? If Cano develops as Soriano did, I'll eat my words, but its more than likely especially considering Cano has no foot speed, that he will not be half the player that Soriano is. Now of course if Cano is part of a larger package, I am all for trading El Duque for him and then shipping him off.

I have a freind on another board who scored a job within the Marlins organization this past offseason. Here was his input:

Theo has already came out and said that his top five prospects are untouchable, and last night we had Bronson Arroyo performing a concert at Fenway, so I am really baffled at who the Red Sox would give up. My guess is somehow taking on Lowell, and then giving up a Brandon Moss or something of that sort, but we do know one things for sure, the writer for the daily news should be shot. what a horrible report...

Jay Payton is in another league compared to Timo Perez. The sole reason for being designated for assignment was to get him off out of the clubhouse after his outburst at Terry Francona after being placed sixth in the line-up after being pinched hit, than first, leading him to believe that Francona didn't have trust in him at the top of the order. In turn, Payton was placed where he was to seperate consecutive lefties. He never was happy with his role, and being that its a contract year he's dieing for playing time. Shows you what money will do to a guy.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 03:54 PM) That whole team was on steroids last year. It's no surprise to see any of their numbers suffer this year. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard in my entire life.
