  1. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 10:26 PM) I'm pretty sure you're wrong... I think his wife stuck with him during his illness, he recovered won a few tours and then he went out and cheated on her with Sheryl Crow. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Correct.
  2. QUOTE(ottawa_sox @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 12:13 AM) One White Sox hitter and 2 derogatory comments. All he did was hit the ball hard. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He hit a routine groundball, looking completely foolish hacking at the first pitch. The FIRST PITCH! This guy deserves more than just 2 derogatory comments.
  3. Didn't know whether to post it here or the other thread: Someone once asked the question of whether they would rather find 20 dollars or have there cities WNBA team win the Championship. The same answer applies to cycling in my opinion. Everyone already had known he was a cheating, lieing, snaky person when he left his loving wife for the beautiful Sheryl Crow upon becoming a celebrity. I respect the battle with cancer that he greatly won, just as my mom did, and I think he can ride a bike like no other but I find no reason to respect him, steroids or not, otherwise.

  5. QUOTE(Yossarian @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 04:27 AM) He may be a good pal and a good motivator, but a game day manager he is not. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> correct..
  6. QUOTE(rangercal @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 04:23 AM) You're f***ing crazy. Go back to the sawx board. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I love it. Haha...
  7. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 03:50 AM) Uhhh...no. But thanks for the red sox fan perspective. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Because this has so much to do with that. Terry Francona might be second.

    Laguna Beach..

    Steff, as a fan of the show, I thank you. Ha.
  9. QUOTE(Tannerfan @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 03:46 AM) I really don't see how you can blame Williams. Ozzie is debateable. Horrible as a stratagist, but pretty good at getting guys to play together as a team. I think you have to look at the players. I can't think of another team where the entire lineup is hitting well below their career averages. You want to blame the hitting coach, fine, but this is a veteran team really, and they should be able to study video of themselves and figure out what they're doing wrong. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If you couldn't tell this team needed some offensive help even before the season started, somethings up. I don't blame Kenny for much, and my hope in him as a general manager is still high, but not addressing the area of need with the talent this team has, is worse than any non-move made by a general manager this season.
  10. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 03:41 AM) I never liked Ozzie's in-game managing ability...and this recent stretch has only proven to me that he has no clue what he's doing on the bench. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If you look back, I am in 100% agreement with you there. Ozzie Guillen might be the worst manager in baseball.
  11. While I still believe the White Sox will win the division, I have lost alot of hope in this teams offense, in Ozzie Guillen as a manager, and in Kenny Williams as a general manager.
  12. QUOTE(ceffa2000 @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 02:29 AM) Not even worth the blog hits. What a tool. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yea, I wouldn't dare click on that crap.
  13. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 11:21 PM) I still think the WHITE Sox should have Gange, they were the ORIGINAL team to draft him... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well I'm assuming your talking about Eric Gagne, but the reason they shouldn't be counted because there are many similar cases for all teams. Mark Texiera for example..
  14. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 11:08 PM) And Eck over Ray???? Thomas and Baggs are actaully very, very similar, almost scary. But look at Rays #'s compared to Eck. No way. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I would still choose Eckstein over Durham if I was to choose between the two to start the season, but its definitly close. Almost as close as the bullpens..
  15. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 11:01 PM) How exactly do you justify putting Baggs over Thomas? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well defense alone there but at this point there both damaged goods..
  16. QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 10:26 PM) LINEUPS... Ozuna-3b Iguchi-2b Everett-LF Konerko-DH Rowand-CF Dye-RF Pierzynski-C Uribe-ss Blum-1B GArcia-SP Stewart-LF Punto-SS Mauer-C Morneau-1B LeCroy-DH Jones-RF Ford-CF Cuddyer-3B Abernathy-2b Santana-SP <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thank you, Matt. It never made sense to me to post only the White Sox line-ups.
  17. 1B: Bagwell over Thomas 2B: Eckstein over Durham 3B: Hillenbrand or Youkilis over Crede SS: Garciaparra over ??? C: Flaherty over Paul LF: Carlos Lee over Lew Ford CF: Mike Cameron over Matt Murton RF: Magglio Ordonez over Trot Nixon SP: Clemens, Schilling, Pavano over Buehrle, Wells, Fogg RP: Wickman, Donnelly barely over Reitsma, Duchsherer
  18. QUOTE(Yeast Confection @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 12:59 AM) I know this: There isn't a single Gold Glover on the 2005 White Sox. Rowand and (the PRE-herniated discs) Crede are the only ones who had a shot. Uribe might get one eventually, but for now he still experiences concentration lapses at odd times and is awful at going back on (non-routine) bloopers. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think Rowand has the best chance at winning a gold glove this year as you mentioned, but I would place Uribe ahead of Crede for almost identical reasons that you place Crede ahead of Uribe.
  19. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 10:16 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Excuse me?
  20. QUOTE(SuperSteve @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 08:55 PM) Yuck...I'd take the White Sox... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Interesting, any reasons for your opinion?
  21. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 03:51 PM) Man the Red Sox team sucks they have on CNNSI. Guess that's what happens when you can't draft for s*** and have to buy a World Series. :fyou Boston! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The CNNSI guy did an absolutely horrendous job of creating a Red Sox team. Here's what I have seen on another board, which is far and away better than the White Sox team, which makes it hard to believe how you can say the Red Sox "draft for s***."
  22. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 22, 2005 -> 09:29 PM) If we want to get technichal, you can add Jeff Weaver. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I was going to add him in, but he never signed...
  23. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 22, 2005 -> 09:24 PM) Is this like all time or just right now? I already know the answer, but I just wanted to say this: RON KARKOVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yea, just active players.
