I think its safe to say with the White Sox molding Aaron Rowand into a player who looks at more pitches and walks more, that they have him pencilled into that two hole.
one and two in the order is pretty much all we know as of now in terms of the White Sox 1-9 next season in my opinion.
I liked what he brought to the table in Boston, but after the comments he made I lost interest in the guy.
The fact of the matter is this, you don't spend 2-3 million dollars on a bench player in my opinion especially when you already have Carl Everett making four million next season and on the bench.
A ten million dollar bench is not in the best interest of the team.
So why on earth would you pay a guy who doesn't walk and strikes out at will 2-3 million dollars to sit on the bench?
Why not go out and grab a guy like Travis Lee, Greg Colbrunn, John Olerud, Tino Martinez, Eric Karros or something of that sort.
Shea Hillenbrand will not be tendered a contract by Arizona according to numerous reports and rumors throughout the online world.
Solid pick-up? sure why not, but for half the price i'd rather just start Gload.
He wanted the same deal the Yankees gave to Womack. I don't know if he so much has to start, but if he's payed like a starter, he'll gladly platoon with harris.
1 year/1.25 million dollars? Rather steep, but it might ink him.
All of my Red Sox counterparts will probably bash me for saying this considering how horrible he was for the Red Sox, but I like the move.
The money is definitly steep, but a bullpen with a right hander and a southpaw in Hermanson and Marte is definitly something to look forward for in front of Takatsu as Jason said.
I wanted a reliever to solidy the bullpen, as did many other people. I like it.
