  1. I've been a Miami sports fan since i was about 5 years old. My grandparents lived in Miami and whenever id visit them they would tell me i should move with them where its nice and hot and i wouldn't have to worry about freezing cold or the snow, and i loved the idea but it just wasn't realistic obviously. Miami is my disneyland, even more so once i turned 21. I turned into a Crimson Tide football fan in 4th grade all because of the movie Forrest Gump. I never really followed college sports but once i saw that movie and saw that forrest gump went to Alabama i became a big fan (I even wear my #44 Forrest Gump jersey to the bar for every Alabama game). What helped also was that obviously 90 percent of people from chicago are big 10 football fans and i hated getting these midwest teams shoved down my throat every day. I guess i should include Syracuse basketball.. I was stationed at Fort Drum New York for 4 years which is about 55 miles away from Syracuse. On the weekends id make trips to Syracuse and catch as many Orange games as i possibly could as it was really the only live sports entertainment I had within reach unless i decided to make an even longer trip all the way to Buffalo New York.
  2. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 20, 2012 -> 02:11 PM) The roads already suck. Im already missing Mayor Daley's mafia workers manning the plows. Those guys were on point every winter.
  3. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 20, 2012 -> 11:12 AM) Kudos to everyone for restraining from any TWSS jokes. it was really hard........
  4. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 11:29 PM) You might want to stop by Geek Squad to have your sarcasm detector checked out. hey i said green lettersssss isn't that universal sign language for sarcasmism?
  5. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 05:52 PM) My 3 favorite sports are fencing, Nascar, and curling. omg LOL. nascar is not a sport, i guess me driving on the eisenhower for all these years without a single accident and/or speeding ticket makes me an athlete lolololololol /greenletters
  6. QUOTE (Tex @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 09:48 PM) The same people who never would have considered walking into a store and shoplifting a CD will easily accept or download a pirated copy. It is virtually anonymous. Yes, there are thefts in every business, would you expect a store to just roll over and say, here take what you want? Why do we treat a digital download different than say a car? Imagine if a car thief said he would have bought that Mercedes G series but Mercedes was trying to make too much profit so he stole it instead? The business model may be flawed based on today's technology, but simply allowing people to steal your product isn't the answer. but in my case i wouldn't be stealing the mercedes G series, id be receiving a copy of a mercedes G series and leaving the original to its rightful owner.
  7. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 05:26 PM) I'll add too that I think the MPAA and similar organizations are looking to the future here. At some point people are going to stop going to movie theaters. Yes, there will still be a few here and there, but like movie rental stores, they'll basically all die in favor of online streaming/downloads. Same with music (digital will take over CD sales this year) and books (same trend). They know the majority of their future potential is going to be digital distribution. So again, if i've already got a nice clean digital copy of a pirated show or movie, why would I then purchase another digital copy of the same thing? Im with this, all of it. Its the reason why i havent paid a cent for any software or music. Why would i buy a hard copy when i can transfer my pirated copies easily into my ipod. Or pirate windows using a daz loader and buying a hard copy, i must not have a heart of gold like most people.
  8. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 04:54 PM) Sure. Wrestling is on par with Lacrosse. Just because you sweat a little doesn't make it a sport. I am an ancient Greek and I disagree
  9. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 04:42 PM) Also, you gotta laugh at the way things like "$500,000,000 in damages" are calculated. Yeah, you're really losing out on full retail price for every download! it has to be more than that for sure. i haven't paid for a piece of software or an album since 1998, and i know there has to be billions more pirates worldwide doing the same for even longer.
  10. If piratebay and firstrow.tv get shut down i don't know if ill have any other use for the interwebs outside of cupcake recipes.
  11. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 03:15 PM) that put me to tears. he was my hero even more so than frank thomas was when i was growing up, no joke.
  12. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 02:57 PM) IMO this guy was, on and off the field. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hxVa1zjANU...feature=related aw man i was hoping for an Eric Daze montage
  13. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 10:06 PM) Derrick Rose is too rich to be wearing s*** he bought off 111th the numbers go that far!? i thought that after 35th it was just corn fields
  14. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 07:55 AM) You must have been on a lot of drugs that summer. that or those posts were drowned out by the "He can't win a title on his own" posts. Sports fans are cute, you're either a wuss for not being able to carry a team on your own, or you suck because you don't want to go to where the winning is at.
  15. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Jan 16, 2012 -> 11:58 PM) I can hate on him for it. Winning isn't his #1 priority. i wonder why no one said this when LeBron decided to join Miami.
  16. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 11, 2012 -> 10:04 PM) Yeah, why are you here? qwerty told me about this fun spot back in '04, I've loved it ever since.

  18. Not earth shattering, but its something i guess? Bulls Or Knicks Could Land Dwight Howard Chicago may be a logical landing place for Dwight Howard. With fellow Adidas superstar Derrick Rose a Bull, and Joakim Noah a defensive big man who could be sent to Orlando in a trade, Howard could wind up in the Windy City. Adidas would be delighted with that turn events, as the Nike rival ironically locks down the big Chicago market that Michael Jordan once ruled. The Knicks may also be in the running to bring Howard to New York. Sources tell Ken Berger not to be surprised if a trade sending Amar'e Stoudemire back to his native central Florida for Howard begins to gain traction. Stoudemire's uninsurable knees and James Dolan's willingness to sign off on a trade parting with the All-Star forward are seen as the two biggest obstacles to such a deal. It could also be that the Knicks would have to include Tyson Chandler in any such discussion with the Magic. Via CBS Sports Read more: http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/21808...d#ixzz1iegXf8TS

  20. Noah, Boozer Still Searching For Chemistry Carlos Boozer and Joakim Noah combined to play just 4 seconds in the fourth quarter of Tuesday’s 76-74 win over the Hawks with all four coming from Noah, who threw the game-winning pass to Luol Deng with 3.7 seconds left. "We're worried about winning," Boozer said. "I think we've been playing great this season on the floor together. And we're going to continue to play great." Their spacing on the floor looks off, and they increasingly look frustrated at times together, especially on the defensive end. For his part, Noah admits that he has to pick up the slack. "I think I need to rebound better," Noah said. "And do better defensively. Play better defense." Via Nick Friedell/ESPNChicago.com
