  1. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 21, 2011 -> 05:59 PM) sad drunks are the best drunks! i prefer drunks that turn rich all of a sudden and cover everyones tab, even the people they just met that night.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 20, 2011 -> 07:23 PM) Because its the preseason and it keeps travel down so you don't lose a practice. i noticed that. every team in the NBA is playing the team seemingly closest to them for the preseason.
  3. Lebron with the spin move hop step is incredible especially since he makes damn near 99 percent of all contact layups. The animation of spinning around a helpless mortal on his way to the rack is freaking hilarious.
  4. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 10, 2011 -> 12:55 AM) Why on earth would Howard not want to play here? Has a reason actually been speculated upon? did you almost slip and break your ass bone on that black ice this morning? i sure did.
  5. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 03:15 PM) Transfer at clark/lake? you are a gentleman and a scholar, thanks for that
  6. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 03:02 PM) I like taking the Green line stop and transferring. Less crowded and seems faster. wish i had that option. i have to take the red line to the blue line and deal with the characters that get off at the jefferson park stop. whoa boy..
  7. The Nets are close to acquiring Nene, according to a source. Adrian Wojnarowski reports the Nets will offer Nene a four-year deal worth between $60 million and $65 million. It’s unclear if signing Nene would take the Nets out of the running for Dwight Howard. After the team missed out on Tyson Chandler, they increased their offer for Nene. The Pacers, Rockets, Warriors and Nuggets have also been in on Nene talks. Via Stefan Bondy/New York Daily News
  8. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 02:27 PM) IMO HD TV has lessened the need to actually go to a game. Just a theory, but I've found myself looking at the picture on my TV or at a bar and thinking, this is way more comfortable. i agree. and not having to take the smelly red line back home when I'm piss drunk is also a plus.
  9. I would have a "Be Adam Dunn" day where one lucky fan gets to bat cleanup and strike out embarrassingly 4 times a game.
  10. The Nets emerged as the number one choice for Dwight Howard, according to multiple sources. Howard is expected to ask the Magic to trade him to New Jersey. The Nets are offering Brook Lopez and two first round picks to Orlando for Howard. Despite their pursuit of Howard, the Nets are also actively engaged in talks with Nene in case they are unsuccessful. Howard can become a free agent next summer. 11. i actually thought the trade made the lakers into s***. if/when bynum goes down with injury, who would be the other big man on the roster? oh and Odom seems a tad perturbed (per realgm): “Imagine how Pau feels,” Odom said. “Pau came to the Lakers and played here for four years, went to the Finals and lost, won two NBA championships and then got swept [by the Dallas Mavericks this year]. Wow! Imagine how he must feel. “Man, I’m just in total disbelief about all of this,” Odom continued. “They don’t want my services, for whatever reason. I don’t know what I’m supposed to do. I was proud to be a Laker, so I’ll try to help them in the process as much as possible."
  12. QUOTE (bulokis @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 09:24 PM) What is the supposed trade? per yahoo! sports: Under terms of the deal, the Lakers would have sent Gasol to the Rockets. The Hornets would have received Odom, Rockets guards Kevin Martin and Goran Dragic and forward Luis Scola, league sources said. Houston had also agreed to send a 2012 first-round pick – previously obtained from the Knicks – to New Orleans as part of the package, a source said.
  13. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 11:10 AM) Take your talents to South Beach. Everyone is doing it now-a-days. Thatta boy!
  14. anyone else think that Buehrle is going to whoop some major NL ass?
  15. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 04:07 PM) Oh god. Especially after this Ozzie quote: "that means we're showing people they want to play for us, for me." It's all about playing for you Ozzie, nothing to do with the money at all. not to mention the great weather and hot cuban ladies grocery shopping in bikinis.
  16. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 03:59 PM) As long as they have Ozzie, they are impossible to root for. Of all teams. Well, I guess it's not the Twins. they are easier to root for with ozzie as their manager because I can laugh at his post-game conferences and not have to deal with his in-game tactics
  17. The marlins are getting easier and easier to root for
  18. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 11:33 PM) Anyone care to share what's so awesome about Portland? based on the few people i know that live there, i think marijuana is legal
  19. Miami New York Denver
  20. QUOTE (danman31 @ Dec 5, 2011 -> 12:52 PM) You can't compare a playoff to a one-off system. A playoff isn't about the best team winning, it's about a team beating everyone put in front of them in the playoffs resulting in a title. A one-off is about the best two teams playing for the title THEN beating the team in front of you. In a playoff like the NFL, Ok State would be able to settle it on the field and no one cares. im not going to argue whether or not bama or ok state deserves to be in the title game, theres nothing that can be done about that now. What I'm trying to find the answer to is how the heck some people won't consider alabama national champions if they beat lsu in the national championship game. LSU is clearly the best team in college football, but if the best team in college football gets beat in the biggest game of the year, then what does that mean? I get it that people are upset that bama made it and that no one wants to see a defensive struggle but it is what it is.
  21. i don't get what those few people say about if bama wins the championship game then LSU should still be considered the champion. So if the bears get swept by the packers this season then somehow go on to win the super bowl, are the packers still the champions because they were 1st in the NFC North AND swept the bears? Or are the bears the champions because they won the CHAMPIONSHIP game. Im trying to understand the logic here. If bama beats lsu, people are only going to remember bama raising the national championship, not lsu winning strictly due to an inept alabama kicking game during the regular season.
  22. amazon gift cards. LOTS of them.
  23. i wish some people would take this into account for my fellow soldiers instead of assuming we're out killing civilians for fun like my humanities professor loves to suggest.
  24. real, i enjoy the "jiggle factor" that you just don't get with the fake variety
