Cora was a dumb ass! Doesnt he know the sliding rule?!? SHOULD BE 2-0 -
QUOTE(chicagown @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 10:35 PM) lol every time i passed the manhole i laugh my ass off. you can always go to Harray Carray's. They represent the Sox there also. It wont be as loyal, but it works.

Not to get ahead of tonites big game, BUT do you guys think we can 2 out of 3 in Anahiem? Well if we lose tonite- than WE HAVE TO, if we win tonite, than the pressure is on them in game 3. I'm sick of hearing about that West Coast jinx crap. Lets do some West Coast Damage! What do you guys think?

QUOTE(Brian @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 08:03 PM) Let's start out 5th 8 game winning streak of the year! I love it when you analyze! -
All this Ozzie talk about him leaving, or about him retirering as a manager if we win it all is BS. Ozzie isn't going anywhere. Lets face it- he's our best manager since LaRussa, and w/o him we wouldn't be in this situation. I'm sure he loves Flordia, but Chicago is his true home.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 05:25 PM) Thx to last night, every game from now on in this series is the biggest one of the year. Washburn said he feels 100%, so let's not get into that "oh, we should kick his ass' mind set. It didn't work too well last night, did it? We need to not beat ourselves and a vintage Mark performance. couldn't have said it better myself. I hate this 'assuming we are going to hammer a pitcher" B.S. If a pitcher is pitching in the playoffs- he is GOOD! And Washburn is good. It should be a close game. WE need to get off to an early lead. Like a big 3-4 spot in the first 3 innings. The crowd really needs to be into it as well. -

I also heard an interesting stat- Historically, when the Angels win the first game of a series in the playoffs they are 0-2. Hmmm.... But take it for what its worth, you can throw out all stats during the playoffs. As my Dad was right- Expect the un-expected in the playoffs. 1. Nobody expected the Sox to sweep Boston 2. Nobody expeced Byrd to beat us. -

This series is going to 7 games. Tonites game is HUGE! Esspecially since we don't play too well out West. -
All good points. They better bring the lumber tommorow. Tommorow's game being labeled a must win is an understatement. If we go to Anahiem trailing 0-2 you can call it a season. We suck out west.
-
With Santana and Lackey likely going in games 3 and 4 in Anahiem (or LA or Orange County or California or whatever they call themselves nowadays) These first 2 games at home are HUGE! Lets get off to a quick start.
-
Just because they won't have Colon doesn't make them easy. Besides Colon has struggled recently, maybe we would have liked to face him? They still have Lackey and Santana who are both very solid. However we can hit both Washburn (if he comes back) and Byrd- we've done it before.

Most likely: Paul Byrd vs Jose Contreras tommorow nite! The keys to tommorow nite are: Get off to a quick start offensively. Remain aggressive. (Stealing, hit and run, suicide squeeze exe..) Jose C. continues his dominance! -

AND THATS A WHITE SOX PLAYOFF WINNER

CONGRATS MY FELLOW WHITE SOX NATION! 4 MORE WINS! YESSSS -
We need to get off to a quick start offensively. Its hard to catch Boston in Fenway. Freddy likes having a 2-3 run cushion to work with. So my keys are: 1. Quick start offensively 2. Freddy keeping the ball down 3. Stay aggresive- steal the bases, move the men over, hit and run exe.... We have nothing to lose.
-
Like I said before- we need to score 5+ runs each game to beat these guys. Fenway is an offensive orientated ball park, and Freddy will need the game of his life. I know his road record is like 10-3 and day record is like 9-1 or something like that. BUT you can throw that our the window. Boston will be pressing and hacking. If we can get an early lead- i like our chances in game 3.

QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 01:05 PM) It's being debated at this time. We have 4 seats.. but then again that might be the biggest game in White Sox history- so you have a lot to think about!
-
an ESPN poll reported that 64% said that the Red Sox would win this series 36% said we will win the series. So we are definitely the underdog. But Ozzie said something that made me smile. He said: "In 2003 while I was the 3rd base coach in Flordia- we weren't expected to win 1 game! But we wen't to New York and won the World Series!"
-
QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 11:04 AM) We got offered $700 each for our seats to Sunday's game from Boston fans... a game that might not even be played. Oh i think it will be played. This series is going to 5 games.
