if it was 17-20 it wouldnt be a big deal.... but damn 14 year olds?

well at least she is hot

well they wouldnt need a decent 1B w/ that lineup broussard or whoevr they have would be fine. Im not 2 sure about them resigning Millwood but I heard Hoffman for 2 years 8 million total. Their payroll is really small if they bring in Manny it could get the fans excited again and they have some prospects that they can give for the Red Sox to eat part of it at least. Even w/out Millwood they got Sabathia, Westbrook, and Cliff Lee and w/ a lineup like that it could be all they need. Hell they prob could bring back elarton for a pretty cheap price and than gave Davis another shot at the 5th spot. Elarton didnt have a good era but he is pretty decent and could put up a solid 4.5 era Than keep in mind they still have Riske and Betancourt in the bullpen to be setup guys. and Matt Miller is pretty decent also.

wasnt his 2004 era higher than his 2003?

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 10:53 PM) This thread is missing one of my replies.... Any reason? What you say isnt important?

That would suck if they got Luis Castillo.... I love watching him and it would suck seeing him in a team like the twins... which i happen to hate more than Cleveland. But someone said it doesnt matter they will finish 3rd... man dont count them out they got a great bullpen and starting staff....and with Mauer, Hunter, Mourneau, and Castillo they might get some passable offense. Also like someone else said if they sign Everett he hits very good there. And b4 his injury Kubel had an awesome season in the minors so I wouldnt count him out of being productive either.
-
I just hope to god he doesnt go to Cleveland.... Manny, Hafner, V-Mart, Sizemore, and Peralta....... yeah that scares me. Id say it would look like this Coco Crisp Sizemore Manny Hafner V-Mart Peralta does it matter?

QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 09:50 PM) Gio Gonzalez is an injury prone A baller... He's not CY young... and I refuse to be all broken up about him... In the short term this organization is better off without him, and is no worse off in the long term unless he becomes a CY Young pitcher which is about as likely as Willie Harris winning the triple crown next year... But don't worry there will be another mediocore pitching prospect to cream your pants over drafted soon... He is only a prospect yes.... but to call him a "mediocore pitching prospect" just shows you know nothing at all about the minors...

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 11:13 PM) I disagre. Garland for the last 3 years was supposed to have breakout seasons. AJ came to town, and it happened. I think the bullpen speaks for itself. Who would you want behind the plate when Bobby came up for the first time. Did you want Ben Davis coaching him along? There is a difference... Ben Davis sucks

why do people read his articles anyways lol when they always get pissed...... you would think the simple solution would to be stop reading them. I can honestly say I read half of 1 Marriotti article and after that Ive never read anything he wrote unless its been on soxtalk..... The only time I see him is when I watch Around the Horn sometimes.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 11:06 PM) What makes you think Young is more ready than Owens? Was it Owens batting title, or his dominance in the winter leagues? Jeckle really doesnt know much about the minors.... for proof just look at DBaho's sig . Anyways he prob has heard a lot of hype about C. Young so he just assumes he would do better. But if your talking about making an impact at the major league lvl next season only than either Anderson or Owens are your best bet. Young still needs another season in the minors... if he is tearing it up in AAA and Anderson is struggling maybe he can get a midseason callup but other than that he needs more time.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 10:39 PM) Things I've learned in this thread: Jeckle has the best handle on Garland's value given the current financial market. Most people have no clue how much a 26 yo pitcher with Jon's resume is worth. Maybe if he was a f/a this off-season yes... but look at all the other f/a pitchers available next season.... there are a lot on that list who are higher and going to be more fought over than Garland. If he pulls out another season like this ill be worried but right now im just focusing on this season. As for Pieryznski... im not 2 worried about him either. Even if he leaves I think his influence on our pitching staff has made its mark and he prob is a little overated by us too. Im not saying I dont like him but by sox fans he is a little overated on this website.

ummm everything I heard has said Hernandez is a great defensive catcher and has a cannon for an arm too. I dont know how he does in calling a game but it cant be worse than Olivo . I could be wrong but I thought for sure Hernandez is apposed to be a defensive stud behind the plate.
-
Maybe instead of ripping on Harrington they should pay more attention to that O-Line. Its almost as bad as Houstan's...... I guarantee if Harrington was here even with the worse talented WR's he would put up some decent numbers at least.
-
yeah if they deal Huff/Gathright for a young pitcher with some talent than they would be in good hands.
-
Well that list of f/a next year shows a lot of good lefties but not so much for righties..... if we lose Garland and KW doesnt want to spend so much Id love the addition of a guy like Adam Eaton. If im right he was having a really good season b4 he got hurt or something than started pitching like crap.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 08:38 PM) LOL. Figures. Im just surprised he made a post that wasnt about Rowand and all his greatness

The guys Ill be watching next season is Malone and Lumsden.... and I guess Liotta too. Lumsden has been injured his whole minor league career so far right? Anyways in response to the original poster.... why do people think we can give up an avg. player at best and get 2 stud prospects in return?
-
If Thomas signed with the A's how crazy would it be if he hit #500 against us.
-
they are going to have a great OF for a long time in Crawford, Baldelli. and Young.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 11:39 PM) Holy s***....just got home and heard the news on Chicago Tribune Live and I exploded into glee. Holy s***. KW is THE man! Thome is the man! PK is THE MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I damn near cryed! I dont get your sig? Why would Valentin who wanted to come back and Clee who got traded be kicking themselves? Than RJ and Schmidt never said they didnt want to come here so whats the deal w/ that?

Champion's spoils: Sox sell out 2 sections
GoodAsGould replied to greasywheels121's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I didnt get 2 any games at all last season But even if its crappy seats hopefully I can make it to at least a couple next season.... right now I cant afford it but someday ill hopefully be a season ticket holder but until than maybe I should try to get all the way through college -
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 08:24 PM) Plus I think the Sox will resign AJP and Garland to extensions. I know both are important but I really hope they get Garlands done as the priority of the two.

QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 08:03 PM) Looks like '94 was the best to me. Your right statistically that was the best season. Also in the top 10 1-2 punches of White Sox history Frank Thomas is in 7 of them.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 07:11 PM) Are you still pissed that the Sox won the World Series? Nothing the Sox do will ever make you happy so why bother being a fan? Konerko >>>>> Carlos Beltran, and look what Beltran got last year. Someone is a homer? Anyways at the begining of last season I really didnt like Pauly that much and thought he was overated. But now after last season Im very glad he is back. But does anyone know the incentives that would push the contract to 65 million?
