  1. QUOTE(knightni @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 04:07 AM) That article was posted over a month ago. than why does it talk about the Dodgers managers job too.... I dont care really I find it rather amusing.... Bobby Valentine and everyone's reaction to it
  2. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 03:14 AM) Hey guys how bout we shut up and see what Orton does on Sunday. Maybe he has a good game. We have seen him for 12 games now why should we shutup? is 12 games not big enough to see what kind of player he is at least at this point in his career? Maybe we can compare him to the other rookie QB's like the 1 on the rams or how about the one on the Browns who have done more in just 1 game a piece......
  3. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 12:55 AM) for some reason these guys think that Rex will be the next coming of Tom Brady. Just not gonna happen. If Orton throws for 150 yards this sunday and 1 TD and maybe one interception i am fine with that. People don't realize that this is a running football team. They will run the ball at least 70% of the time even if Grossman is QB. That is why they drafted Benson and not Mike Williams. Who is calling Grossman the next Tom Brady? What you dont understand is Orton is the worse QB thats right the Worse QB in the NFL right now.....And Grossman cant be worse and is accurate thats why people want him in. Hell if you listen to the players and watch the games you can even tell the rest of the team is sick of Orton and want Grossman back in.... its only dumb homers who continue to support Orton..... and I mean that in the nicest way possible.
  4. Thats good news 25% is more than what the backup usually takes so Idonno maybe if Orton sucks he might be yanked in the 2nd half.
  5. Did anyone listen to Boers and Bernstein.... supposedly they were talking to Grossman who is right next to Orton. Anyways he was saying it would be nice if he was back in because than the offense could complete a 20 yard pass or something like that
  6. If they get Benson too they might not be the laughing stock of the league anymore although still bad. whats the rotation Benson, Redman, Greinkie, Bautista, ????
  7. I cant see how people think trading a guy like Prior at his age would be a good idea for an older more expensive hitter. First off pitching >>> hitting....... Unless it was like Bonds when he was 31 or something like that its a bad trade.
  8. QUOTE(hi8is @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 10:43 PM) encrypted in the message above is Kenny Williams cell phone numer... a friend told me that a friend told my other friend that all we have to do is call Kenny by cracking this code and we will then be able to trade 50 rolls of sourdough bread to tampa for Crawford..... all you math wizz nerds.... get crackin!!!!!! I think i cracked it.... Better start making that bread
  9. QUOTE(qwerty @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 12:23 AM) People seem to forgot he was 1-7 before the fourth quarter all the time last year. He is so f***ing inconsistent it's not even funny. No.... I dont forget that and Ilve always thought Deng the better player of the two all the time.... but to say when Gordon is on fire that we arent a better team is wrong and not true.
  10. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 11:27 PM) Here's the thing with his offense. When he is absolutely on fire you don't see the Bulls really pull out or extend leads. I think there is something to be said for that and I really don't think he's near the player some make him out to be (I am pretty sure you tend to feel similar as I do qwerty). Actually when he is on fire he would win us games in the 4th quarter when we were down or when it was close.... he just hasnt really been on 2 much this season.... although he started off slow last year too and it seems like he is begining to get his touch back.
  11. BTw I wouldnt mind if we spent a top pick on a CB but with how late we are going to be in the draft I just dont think we could find someone that will really be better than either Vasher or Tillman.... or even Azumah.... if we could get that kid from Virgina tech Id be all over it.
  12. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 11:34 PM) Ditto! I can see Gooch hitting 30 HRs and having 25 SBs in 2006. Ill take 20-25 with 15 SB's.
  13. If Toronto can even add a decent bat they might be a team to reckon with.... but its not like the yanks or redsox improved hell if redsox lose Manny/Damon they could be worse.
  14. He wont be considered at all for DPOY.... a course if he gets 3-4 more int and another TD that might change a little but as of now no way. But yeah Hammerhead is drinking some hatorwade or howevr Kevin Wheeler calls it when talking about Vasher. Hammer Idonno if you dont like to change your opinions on stuff or what but Vasher has played great this season and ill go and say he is the best #2 CB in the NFL right now. He isnt ready for all the stars yet but he has been shutting out the other wideouts on the opposing teams. And I do criticize players on this team and hell all my teams you are just wrong on this topic.
  15. Does being in the NL or AL really have that much of an effect on a closer? Its not like they are going to face a pitcher if the game is on the line so really its almost the same. Yes Hoffman played in a pitchers park but saying his era is going to go from 2.97 to 4 is a bit of an exageration....
  16. Thats not 2 bad of a contract considering the type of stuff Burnett has even if I dont think much of him. Much better than the BJ Ryan contract.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 03:25 AM) Hoffman will take a hometown discount and 2yr 16 mill would do it (I think he'd take a year less or even do something like a 3yr 18 mill deal). He isnt even rumored to get that much from other teams how would that be a discount?
  18. Umm that at the right place at the right time isnt just luck... its from studying film and knowing where to be.... Mike Brown does the same thing...And this year he has been much better than Tillman although I dont think he is ready for the top notch WR's yet. As for drafting CB's we have a more pressing need. Our 1st pick should be a TE.... than a WR(if a difference maker is available), OL Depth, backup LB or replacement for Hillenmeyer.
  19. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Dec 3, 2005 -> 08:14 AM) The story about Blake is true. He was buying a CD player and some other gifts (probably for friends and family). Umm ok. What you said about me is not true. And i have this to say to you about Orton (who you think should be replaced once Grossman is healthy)You will be wrong about Orton. Grossman is just as unproven. Anybody who thinks that Grossman would make a huge difference to the Bears offense is on the bong. How do you expect people to take you seriously when you are such a homer. Orton sucks and is the worse in the NFL how is that hard to see. I mean at first I thought it was just this but than your Prior/Zambrano would be a 5th starter at best for the White Sox.....
  20. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 12:14 AM) I don't know, but numbers don't mean jack. Tommie Harris, for instance, is about 10,000 times more valuable than Vasher. It's not even funny. Now cmon quit the Vasher hating already..... At the begining of the year I was right with you he isnt a very good coverage CB but he makes the big plays.... But this season other than making big plays he has also been pretty good at shutting down his guy. Look at the stats nobody but the guy Tillman is covering has many yards if any at all. I know he is greatly helped by the D-Line pressuring the QB but so far he has been a good CB in covering his guy and making the big plays. That being said he isnt DPOY....
  21. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 06:30 PM) Yeah he is a joke........with a rating a mere 17 points better than Kyle Orton. LOL!! http://www.nfl.com/teams/stats/NYG People hear the name Manning and they automatically think he's as good as his brother. I didnt say he was amazing... but this is only his 2nd season in the league and he is kicking some major ass. He still has a lot to learn but he came a long from from last season to this one. And there is no reason not to think he is going to get a lot better. Orton on the otherhand :puke
  22. QUOTE(TheHawkaroo @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 11:04 AM) Damon is an over-rated caveman who can't throw and really isn't all that good at hitting. Oh yeah and for some reason he is gonna get a fat contract. That's the last person I want on our team. Ummm If he gets a 7 year contract he wont be good at hitting at the end of it but currently thats dumb to say.
  23. Hey bash him all you want him and McGwire helped get people back into baseball and for that although dont want him on the southside
  24. QUOTE(timotime @ Dec 4, 2005 -> 02:52 PM) lets not and say we did :puke If your going to use that keep it in WSI :puke
