QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Nov 19, 2005 -> 05:19 AM) Gotta love giving up 6 points on one possession. It makes me sick that 6'8" Sweetney has 100 times the inside game that 7'1" Chandler has. Id say Sweetney's game is a lot better than most people taller than him on the inside. And as for Chandler well he is playing like dog s*** but he is also playing out of position and its not just him.... Kirk is playing like s*** too and Gordon is forcing dumb shots and the other team knows he will and leaves open players all the time when Gordon drives in. And Songaila :puke

Ive read all of the books but only saw I think either the 1st or 2nd movie. And I hated it... but this one looks like its going to be much better so Ill definitely give it a look sometime this weekend or next.

Well there really havent been any teamates backing him up too much throughout the whole thing until TO's last comment about Favre. Ive never been a big fan of D-Mac either though... b4 TO came he really wasnt that great of a QB and the Eagles mostly won w/ their defense. Hell they won what 3 games in a row with their 3rd string QB.

They dont know for sure if they were drinking before-hand.... but I think it is assumed that they were. -
NOOO not Fabio Castro!

Wasnt Perez just a f/a last off-season.... I dont understand why clubs sign these guys than want to unload their contract a year after. Well I can understand the Delgado one because they super back-loaded the contract...

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Nov 17, 2005 -> 10:01 PM) A-Rod is gay.. does that count? Maybe if your a 10 year old and calling people gay is funny?

If only it was Castillo we were interested in. I wouldnt mind dumping Tadahito a bit if we could get Castillo over at 2B.....

QUOTE(YASNY @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 12:50 PM) They were televised last year to fill time due to the hockey strike. So, you'd think probably not. However, if I remember correctly, they were pleasantly surprised by the ratings. Now, if you add to that the fact that this year they will have the option of showing ST games of the WORLD CHAMPIONS!, they might consider it. Well that doesnt really make sense. Not everyone was showing spring training games I know most teams werent. And for us we dont get televised hockey games so what would that have to do with them not showing it on TV? Didnt they say we showed the most ever spring training games on TV last year?

Bob Nightengale: Sox Tell Phills They Want Thome
GoodAsGould replied to Wealz's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Why not have them pay half of his contract... and give them Rowand and Marte? That way we have him cheap and we dont lose any prospects. And Anderson can step in for Rowand right away and give us just about what Rowand did last season. Podsenick Iguchi Konerko Thome Dye Pieryznski Crede Uribe Anderson That would also allow us to be able to sign Mueller too for insurance if Crede either sucks or has the back problems. Basicly the lineup mostly the same but you judge if you think the difference between Carl and Thome is bigger than Rowand and Anderson lol. -
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Nov 17, 2005 -> 06:41 AM) The East actually looks pretty good this season. You've got teams like Orlando, Charlotte, Boston etc. who are going to be fighting tooth and nail for one of those playoff spots. Im not 2 scared of Charlotte they are still a year away from being contenders to make a playoff spot in my mind. And I think we can beat out Orlando... I know your a fan but I just feel we are the better team. Boston might give us trouble though. Right now I see it as this. East: 1. Detroit 2. Heat 3. NJ 4. Indiana 5. Milwaukee 6. Cleveland 7. Washington 8. Chicago 9. Philly 10. Boston 11. Orlando 12. Charlotte 13. Toronto 14. New York 15. Atlanta I know Toronto is winless but I think they arent that bad so they should be able to get above Atlanta and NY. Philly has started off fast but I see CWebb and Iverson fading more and more as the season progresses.

Do Dodger fans really all leave in the 7th inning. If thats true they have to be one of the worse fanbases in all of baseball no matter how many show up at the begining.

Throw debris on the field, get thrown in jail

I can understand a penalty for spitting on a player... but I think any decent lawyer could get someone out of the throwing trash charge? -
Who said DH's cant win the MVP? It was just said a guy who plays defense and has similar and in this case overall better offensive stats will have the advantage. Where are you coming with this crap that DH's cant win MVP's. Its understandable you wanted Ortiz to win since your a Red Sox fan but why make up s***?

This season is going to be frustrating... I still think we can get the 7th or 8th spot in the playoffs but it will be tough. Chandler has been playing like s*** and I think its obvious he doesnt fit in the C position. So one of the main goals in the off-seaosn should be a starting C and im hoping we can grab Nazr Mohammed.
-
This blows.... At least after another crappy game you have to hope Songaila is out of the starting rotation.
-
well its down to this... I say wait it out and give Sweetney the final chance.
-
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Nov 17, 2005 -> 05:00 AM) Problem with starting Sweetney is that guy can't stay on the court. He sweats tying his shoes before the game. Supposedly during practice he has been riding an exercise bike or something a lot to work on his stamina. So supposedly as the season goes on he will be able to play longer and longer.

This teams definitely is missing some pieces that need to be addressed this off-season. Also im sick of them settling for 3's all the time....
-
QUOTE(qwerty @ Nov 17, 2005 -> 04:02 AM) Soxfan101... what you think about the officiating a couple weeks through now? Man im fuken sick of it.... after the 1st two games im like wow its gotten much better... but it was just an illusion I guess.

First of all its not krutz.... 2nd its not like Miller didnt do anything either because Kreutz has like 8 stitches or something on his head....Lastly none of us really know what happened and Kreutz has been in the NFL a long time w/out any problems so Id say something Miller did or said had to set him off.

Zach Randoph scares me other than that I think we got advantage everywhere else.

QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 03:52 PM) Never underestimate a Twins prospect. They know how to develop those over there. Well luckily it seems they only know how to develop pitching prospects because their hitting is terrible.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 07:45 AM) If a guy's strength is going back on balls, then he needs to play shallow. Someone else's strength may be coming in on those little flares, so he'd play deeper. There shouldn't be any set way to judge the position. In other words, someone can be just as good regardless whether he plays deep or shallow. Yes but it seems like more of the better defensive CF's... the top ones(Andruw Jones, Hunter, Wells etc....) play more of a shallow CF. While some very good ones for example Rowand play deep.... it just seems if you can get good jumps and everything you are able to get more outs if you play a shallow CF.

Im not going to be able to do the trip but does anyone know if their all going to be on TV again? I know the games dont count but its fun seeing some of the young guys play and its always nice to see baseball after a long off-season.
