  1. Listening to Walker on the radio over the years I can't imagine he'd give a strong interview and he obviously doesn't have the results to overcome that, interesting that he was able to land a job. Must have a friend in atlanta's front office.
  2. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Oct 20, 2011 -> 06:08 PM) That is your opinion you got no idea any more than I do if he is or is not sick of the circus that is JR/KW and wants to leave now. Why would you include JR in that, from all accounts everyone loves working for JR even Ozzie loved JR. My opinion is you have no idea about anything wsox related.
  3. Im pretty sure Ill pass both and reach it first.
  4. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 20, 2011 -> 02:14 PM) Expect for the one commercial he made: "They said I couldn't play division 1 football" (You were a top 3 QB recruit in the country) "They said I couldn't win the Heisman" (You were a favorite to win it at the start of the season) "They said I couldn't play in the NFL" (you were drafted in the 1st round) To be fair, a lot of people have been saying he cant play in the NFL despite the first round pick.
  5. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 19, 2011 -> 06:46 PM) rescinded today due to a health issue with Jerome Harrison. Brown still an Eagle per Adam Schefter Wow, Im not sure why they cared about it.. Brown got practically 0 playing time and best of my knowledge Harrison can still play. If nothing else have a 7th rounder too.
  6. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 19, 2011 -> 06:22 PM) This cracked me up, I figured other cat lovers would also find it funny I dont get why they always try to get into things way too small for them lol.
  7. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Oct 18, 2011 -> 08:30 AM) I switched from Dish Network to DirecTV for the sole purpose of getting the MLB Network. Dish has the MLB network.
  8. QUOTE (OilCan @ Oct 15, 2011 -> 11:05 PM) Just watched Thor for the first time. WOW. Should have seen it in the theatre. One question...How does Thor return to Earth for The Avengers movie? I'm not a Thor comic book reader, so I dunno. Thx. Really? It was my least favorite superhero movie as of yet, I thought even Green Lantern was better. Thor just to me seeming boring and felt like he was never really threatened at all, the whole sacrificing himself was possibly the most predictable outcome ever in a movie.
  9. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 17, 2011 -> 09:43 AM) Someone posted on twitter yesterday something to the effect of "Why is it that defensive players are seemingly benched for performance every game by Lovie Smith, yet Frank Omiyale has dressed for every game since he has signed his contract?" Harris had a really bad game against the Lions, there is no doubt about that. It could have been rust, lingering injury, whatever. But Brandon Merriwether had an equally bad game, as well as piss poor games previously while Harris was out injured and he dressed and played yesterday. That is a pretty disappointing set of standards by Lovie, Harris has played a lot of games under Lovie and it isnt like he gets burned every game he plays. From what I read the reason Harris didnt dress is because he doesnt contribute on special teams, I'm assuming Merriweather does if that's the case.
  10. Illini still lacking some talent apparently, oh well if they can beat at least one of PennState/Michigan preferably both still a very nice season. Forget all the talent on OSU because of the struggles they had, I still think Illini win that game if game planned better on offense, hopefully Petrino takes note for the Penn State game.
  11. We have the opposite of martz running the illini offense lol, passing is the devil
  12. They stacking completely against the run and illini waste plays running into it.
  13. Seems like illini been coming out flat every game, I don't think they have any chance vs Wisconsin.
  14. QUOTE (Felix @ Oct 14, 2011 -> 04:35 PM) I mean, say what you want about the NBA and Rajon Rondo, but there isn't anyone else in the game today that could do this: Rajon Rondo is a great distributer and that is a pretty cool alley hoop, but they playing against scrubs I bet a bunch of NBA guys can do that. The guy also was standing wide open next to the basket for how long? Even the bench warmers(minus Scalabrine) have such amazing talent above anyone else that if you put them in those kind of leagues they could look Jordan esque.
  15. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 14, 2011 -> 10:28 AM) But I don't wanna read any possible spoilers for _____, so I should alter where people talk about it. If you aren't watching it live, tough s***. That's the risk you run. I'm watching The Wire right now. If people start discussing it, I'll skip it. Difference is the discussion for BB goes on for days, so for the Wire if I'm all that worried i can skip 1 page... for BB you cant even click on this thread. On another note, the last episode of Community might finally be the nail in the coffin, it was beyond terrible.
  16. Really hate all the Breaking Bad stuff, haven't watched the series but probably will sometime in future and if I click this thread hard not to see spoilers. With how much discussion goes on about it should just have its own thread so you all can go on forever about your theories of Hector and whoever is killing someone and whatnot.
  17. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 14, 2011 -> 09:36 AM) Oh RLY??? I wasnt aware of how poker was played. And you are wrong about it being fair: http://www.pokernews.com/news/2008/05/ulti...unfair-play.htm Online poker has been rigged for years. There was a scandal with Absolute poker too, but like someone else said people cheat in live poker as well. As far as I know, the 2 biggest poker sides being Pokerstars/Fulltilt as far as gameplay goes were pretty legit. Clearly, they weren't running their bankroll in a legal way though.
  18. Robin did say none of his daughters tweet so already an upgrade in that department.
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 10, 2011 -> 05:21 PM) Walker obviously is a hard worker and well respected in baseball. He did a fine job. The players have been the ones with the bat in their hands IMO. You hit well and you are loved. KC is thrilled with Seitzer cause the team hit the s*** out of the ball. Is anybody on here excited about Seitzer? This is a tough tough crowd. You go out of your way to be unpopular.
  20. QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Oct 9, 2011 -> 01:15 PM) Take this FWIW, @cst_Cowley cst_Cowley Mark Parent is the front-runner for the bench coach job, according to Sox sources. One said it's all but a done deal, other said not yet. I've gotten behind the Robin Ventura deal but this mark parent signing will be very underwhelming.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 8, 2011 -> 09:35 AM) Al Davis dead I wonder if that franchise can have a resurgence similar to the blackhawks now.
  22. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 7, 2011 -> 11:23 AM) Dude. That is it. You are freaking nuts. Cowley is a complete an utter asshole. The players know it, the fans know, it, everyone knows it. Ozzie was the asshole. I don't know how you can't see that. I think greg has gone past the point of just having an unpopular opinion to that of obvious troll. Either that or related to cowley/guillen. People should just stop trying.
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 7, 2011 -> 10:58 AM) Well, it's obvious that Cooper orchestrated this whole thing so Ventura quits after a few months (due to his heart not being into coaching) and Cooper can be named manager so he can finally get what he wants. I think Cooper is a great pitching coach but I absolutely hate his personality based off interviews ive heard him in and would not enjoy having him as manager one bit. Not to say he is the devil cowley says in his column just my opinion over the years about Cooper.
  24. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 05:04 PM) Steve, Maybe its because some of the most famous baseball managers were "player managers." I think its interesting (insert stupid) that people dont want to research the fact that there is almost 0 correlation between MLB managerial experience and success at the major league level. I think its interesting (insert stupid) that people dont believe Robin can be a good manager just because he hasnt been a coach. Whatever the facts, I really cant imagine anyone creating a good argument that MLB manager is harder than NBA/NFL. And thats the comparison. I think that's the most important statement, a lot of mlb manager's wouldn't even hack it as a coordinator or even position coach in the NFL and the same for being on an NBA coaching staff. With baseball, even moreso in the AL as long as you are good with handling personalities and not a clueless idiot you can be fine at your job. Hell Ozzie lasted for 8 years and he wasn't good at either of those things.
  25. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Oct 5, 2011 -> 03:43 PM) And that was last year, when they had a better group of players and still went 7-9, not this year. This discussion is on a year by year basis, otherwise I could say the Cavaliers won 60 games last year so clearly they had a shot this year! Seahawks didn't lose anyone near lebron caliber though. It does seem though in Nba you go in season with only a handful of teams having realistic shot at championship. In baseball yes there are Yankees and bsox always good but like 14 teams had a shot at some point. Football seemingly easiest sport for teams to become legit contenders. Different team from NFC makes superbowl every year.
