QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 29, 2012 -> 10:26 AM) It kind of boggles my mind that this is the same Novak Djokovic I watched 2 years ago. He used to get so rattled so easily. He would let the smallest things bother him, and now, here he is, outlasting and outwilling Rafael freakin Nadal, a 10 time grand slam champion, in a 5 set final. His transformation since the 2010 US Open is remarkable. And the fact that winning the Davis Cup did so much for his confidence says a lot about how much he cares. The talent was always there, but the mentality wasn't. I watched him win his 1st grand slam in 2008 and I thought he'd take off from there. He did, just not when expected. It's hard to say, but he could very well be on his way to a Roger Federer-esque run. They both really hit their primes around the same age and right now, Djokovic has the edge over all the top competitors. I actually think Federer is the one guy that at their best he could beat Djoko. He beat him at the French Open I think last year and should have beat him at the US Open. I wish tennis was more open it really seems like only 4 guys have a shot at every event and even of those 4 it seems every final is going to be Nadal/Djoko at this rate.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 29, 2012 -> 10:15 AM) You're telling me you put Peyton on the Browns or the Rams and they're SB contenders? I don't even think the Colts this year WITH HIM would be that good. That defense was just awful. I think the Rams could be, that defense front 7 actually is pretty talented and with Peyton forcing other teams to pass the ball they could just full out pass rush. The Browns not so much. -
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 29, 2012 -> 10:12 AM) I'm not denying it, I obviously have a biased opinion, but I also think Djokovic can get away with not playing his best easier than other players because of his defensive abilities. He's got the intangibles now. You must have watched a different semi than I did because Nole playing his average game wins that match in 3 sets. Had tons and tons opportunities to put Murray away and couldn't. Dominated the first set, then had break point up 2-0 in the 2nd and then lost his edge, where Murray stepped his game up. I may be biased for Nole, but you might be just as biased against him. I actually like Nole, I just didn't care much for last year because it was domination lol. The only one in the top4 I don't care for is Federer, but I do enjoy Federer/Nadal matches for that very reason. But yeah, today I think Djokovich played better except the 5th set which Nadal I guess nerves or whatever messed it up. In the semi's though I think Murray played a better match especially the 3rd set where like I've said I felt if anything he should have won that a lot easier. He just ran out of steam and Djokovich seemed to hit a 2nd wind. As for not playing his best, I don't think anyone played their best honestly which is usual for the Australian Open... still some sick tennis though.
-
I think you are way biased, I mean everyone is but Murray probably should have won that game vs Djokovic he just ran out of steam... if anything that 3rd set he had more mistakes that would have lead to a much easier set win if he completed them. I will say Djokovic messed up the 4th set and probably should have won but at same time I think Nadal gifted it right back to him the 5th set in which he should have taken. Obviously end of the day all that matters is winning, but my statement was more about last year Djokovic just looked unstoppable to the point only person who stood a remote chance was Federer vs him. This open I was happy to see Nadal/Murray up their game and make it some enjoyable tennis to watch instead of a steamroll. Which is important because obviously both those matches could have easily gone the other way.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 29, 2012 -> 08:46 AM) TOOOOO SRBINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOLE! NOLE! NOLE! I think Nadal lost it on the game after he broke Djokovic. He had that easy winner and if he won that game could of been the nail in the coffin. The one thing it showed though is Djokovic isn't going to run over guys this year though... Murray/Nadal both had solid chances of winning.
-
Nadal is an idiot.... so many slices this last set right at Djokovic...... they have been losers far more than not.

We going to the 5th set in the finals!!!

QUOTE (dasox24 @ Jan 28, 2012 -> 03:03 PM) It would be tough for me to like the guy after the cheap-shot that tore Eric Berry's ACL this year. Oh, and Emery is so typical Bears. Just bring in one of the "good 'ol boys" that used to be with the organization. They would hire my least favorite of the outside candidates. Idonno I had Emery number 2 after the Giants guy. The Patriots guy supposedly doesn't do much anything at all in the draft decisions and the last few Patriot drafts/signings havent been very good anyways. The Chargers are also a team that recently haven't added many impact players too. Don't need to explain Ruskell. -
QUOTE (farmteam @ Jan 28, 2012 -> 12:04 PM) Met a girl last night who fooled around with Toews in high school. I bet a lot of girls have fooled around with Toews... not as much as Kane.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 28, 2012 -> 10:55 AM) Here's one version of the drop stat line last year. No one seems to mind Dwayne Bowe being near the top. The thing is, both those guys are playmakers so it makes the drops a little more bearable. Roy and Cutler just didn't seem to have it, even when he was open it didn't seem like they were on the same page. -
QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jan 28, 2012 -> 08:31 AM) Show is solid with plenty of room to grow. They definitely tried way too hard last episode, Raj with the phone and Sheldon with the whole flag thing both were very lame. Plus the whole Penny/Leonard thing already happened and is boring too. I really hope it was just one lazy boring episode and they fix it up next week.

QUOTE (Felix @ Jan 27, 2012 -> 09:40 AM) That's another difference from what I can tell. SWTOR doesn't really have big raids. The max group size is four, unless you're doing a PvP Warzone which is a completely different, unique instance. I imagine it's easier to find three random people than finding 20+ pubbies in WoW, but maybe not. Basically, SWTOR seems much less guild based, which I really like thus far. Well there were end game instances that were just group based in WoW, but I forget that was 5 or 6 people instead of 4. Are you lvl 50 in SWTOR yet?

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 27, 2012 -> 02:55 PM) Serbia went 3 for 3 in semifinals today. Djokovic beat Murray, our water polo team beat Italy and our handball team beat Croatia. WOOHOO! Lol nobody cares about all 3 sports for the most part especially the 2nd two.

QUOTE (Felix @ Jan 26, 2012 -> 12:41 PM) From what I understand, if you want to play WoW alone, you'd get s*** on pretty quickly (at least, according to a few friends of mine that play(ed) WoW religiously). From my experience with SWTOR, that's far from the case. I'm not in a guild and have no intention of joining a guild, and haven't had any issues whatsoever. That being said, I haven't gotten to the endgame yet, so maybe that changes. You can level WoW solo pretty easily, but yeah the endgame stuff you need guilds or at least a big raid of people to do stuff.... I can't say for sure but I'd be guessing Starwars would be similar that once you get endgame most of the content would be at very least groups. Also just like WoW there are quests on the way you cant do alone but mostly can pickup random groups to complete it which I'd imagine is same in Starwars. In WoW at least though all the stuff leveling wise that required groups was optional, it was fun but very easy to do majority of quests solo and might take a little more time could easily level all the way solo.

Murray has to be crushed, I think his biggest issue is he probably should have won that 3rd set a lot easier and ended up putting a ton of energy into it. He definitely just gave up the 4th set after losing the first match and decided to conserve his energy for the final set. Murray is getting real close to breaking through if he keeps this up, I think he just needs to work on his 2nd serve no reason for it to be that slow given his size and he will be able to finally win at least at the Australian/US Open. Time to see if this is going to be the same as last year or if Nadal has found a way to challenge Djokovich. The women's final is going to be a screamoff might have to leave the tv on mute.

Nadal back in the finals, that was a pretty awesome match. The last game was a little sloppy on both sides but some awesome shots throughout.

QUOTE (Felix @ Jan 25, 2012 -> 02:46 PM) Basically, you gain most of your experience from questing and less from actual grinding (which, as far as I understand, is different than WOW). There are heroic quests that you generally need a group to complete, so if you're playing alone you generally won't be able to complete those. However, I haven't had much issue finding random groups of people to complete them, so that's always an issue if it interests you. You generally get better items/experience from the heroic quests, but with bigger groups the loot gets split up. There is indeed a trade system where you can trade unnecessary items or crafted items for cash. Each faction (imperial/republic) can trade amongst themselves, or, if you're on a neutral planet, there's a trade system where you can trade with anyone (regardless of faction). Nah its exactly like WoW, EQ is the one where you got all your experience from grinding. But if you have played EQ before Badger it plays very similar except that you get simple quests like kill 10 soldiers or some crap like that which makes leveling a lot faster. It has tradeskills etc. like EQ but in it you can actually send workers to go grab you materials etc. and the PVP is way more advanced than EQ.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 25, 2012 -> 05:29 AM) Got him in 3 sets, but it certainly wasn't easy. Those first 2 sets were absolutely grueling but Djokovic crushed him in that 3rd set. Ferrer is such a pain in the ass. Hopefully Djokovic's hamstring is ok. He'll have to be 100% for Murray. Yeah I think Ferrer gave up in the third. Those first 2 sets were some good tennis though, we get the big 4 in the semi's now I think given what I've seen anyone can beat anyone.
-
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 25, 2012 -> 12:28 AM) Federer, Nadal, Murray into the semis. Djokovic/Ferrer coming up in 2 hours. This match will be telling for Djokovic, if he makes easy work of Ferrer I think the only one who has a shot vs him in the Aussie Open will be Federer.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 24, 2012 -> 11:46 AM) I figured, just was wondering about the game play. Right the gameplay is like those 2 games I meant, I was excited for it until I found that out.

I've heard Humphries is just an asshole all together, I think it was here someone mentioned players of a college team begged their coach not to recruit him because he came off as that much of a prick. -
Nadal finally figured out he cant stand 10 feet behind the line and started kicking some major ass, should be a fun semi's. Despite being the first seed Djokovic got the toughest quarterfinal match.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 24, 2012 -> 03:46 AM) Berdych had set point, 15-40, on Nadal's serve, up 6-5 in the first. And Nadal saved it with what might be the best point of the tournament so far. Then comes back to win the game. Tiebreak time. Berydych's serve is pretty much as good as it gets right now and might be enough to beat Nadal at this rate.
