QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 01:46 AM) Who's to say he wouldn't be on a better team than the Clippers (assuming they would can VDN for a real coach, and somehow they keep Paul and Griffin). Certainly the above scenario would look better than the Bulls without Deng IMO. But the Magic are playing pretty good ball in the meantime, just finished a 4-0 road trip and we're 9-3. If only we could somehow get an upgrade at PG (e.g would love Kyle Lowry), then I'd put us down as real contenders. The Clippers he'd be in a good spot, but if Lakers are losing Gasol/Bynum and the Nets/Knicks are the other choices I don't see them being better situations. -
Argument for not having all INTL players part of June draft

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 16, 2012 -> 05:02 PM) You could really set the NBA up for a disaster in that situation. The drafts top picks could go to Europe to avoid the cap, play 5-6 years until they hit 25, and then come back. Under that system Derrick Rose could still be playing outside of the US, making assloads of money and the NBA would be out of luck. I think most players still wouldnt want to go to Europe -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 16, 2012 -> 04:36 PM) Exactly. And it doesn't matter how long someone has played professionally somewhere else, at least in the NBA. All teams have an equal shot at a player if they put their name in the draft. I think if someone has played at a professional level they should have the opportunity to make some more money than a kid coming out of college. Although I'm not aware if there is an age cap for the draft, if that was set at something like 25 I'd be ok with all guys under it being elgible for draft. -
QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 09:15 PM) lol, hell no. He said I play similar to online players because of my bet-sizing in relation to the amount that is in the pot. I usually bet in a range of 1/2 the pot to as much as the pot or more. Your goal is pretty much to force people to fold, which can work well depending on the type of people your up against.

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 09:53 PM) Deng took Pierce out of the game and I don't ever want to hear that Deng is not a top 10 SF. Pierce hasn't been that good as of yet, but Deng is an obvious top10 SF -

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 04:45 PM) I really don't know where this "max effort" bulls*** comes from. Carmelo Anthony is a f***ing beast. He's taken his Nuggets deep into the playoffs before, and he's always given "effort". I'm certain the "will he won't he" trade rumors last year negatively affected the Nuggets. Melo can score at will and does. He's greatly improved facets of his game including 3 point shooting, rebounding, and distribution. He's sneaky-good in pretty much all facets of his game, and an average defender. I want some proof to your claim that Carmelo Anthony doesn't give max-effort. He works his ass off and has since he was at Syracuse. It's these misconceptions, I guess because of cornrows, that continue to have people criminally underrate Carmelo Anthony. Why would cornrows give that misconception, for all his negatives Allen Iverson was clearly a max effort person on the court. I mean when I watch him he is so talented but instead of working for shots he just takes lazy turnaround jumpers while being covered and on defense it looks like he doesn't care. I think, he could easily be a top5 player in the league but he is more or less content where he is at. -

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 04:39 PM) If you say so. Dude just said he'd rather have Deng than Carmelo. And I'm the troll? That's like me saying Joakim Noah > Dwight Howard. Take that garbage anywhere else and he'd get banned. That isnt even remotely close the same comparison. I said I rather have Deng until Carmelo gives max effort, because looking at Nuggets they actually improved with guys who seem to want to win. -

Carmelo is clearly way more talented than Deng, I did the list very quickly and overlooked him. But, in all honesty I'd almost rather have Deng because you know your getting max effort on both sides and the Nuggets actually improved losing him. Yes they got multiple peaces in return but they also lost Billups who at the time was still playing at a high level. -

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 04:17 PM) Perhaps the way you carried yourself or the attire you were wearing led to some drunken discussions? You never know. When I'm down there, I tend to rock the Cardinals jersey shirt and the White Sox cap, and I'm always well-received. And yes, the Landing is awesome and the new casino they opened (Lumiere Place) are quite awesome. And of course, the tour. I've been on it twice... and ending with fresh, free Bud products is worth the 40 minutes or so. What tour? -

All around game considered the only clear cut SF's better than Deng are: Lebron James Kevin Durant Danny Granger I think you have to group Deng with the Caron Butler/Rudy Gay/Gerald Wallace bunch. -

QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 02:48 PM) Not the only, but you're fan base is one of the worst. I mean, you're complaining about the refs in a game your team wasn't even playing in. I just watched the replay on Zellers and 1, and there was definitely enough lower body contact to call a foul. Regardless, it's over, we lost, time to move on. You go to any sports message board and there will be b****ing about refs. My Texas Rangers/Mavericks fan is always b****ing about them nonstop too, thinks the world is out to get Texas sports teams. -

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 12, 2012 -> 09:16 PM) lmao. Lakers > Magic Mavs > Magic Spurs > Magic Blazers > Magic Clippers > Magic Nuggets/Magic could go either way. The Grizzles aren't healthy. But they would definitely have a case. There's a reason Dwight wants out. And it's not because he loves Jason Richardson. Spurs depending on if Manu is healthy. But he's always hurt. So might have to eliminate them. Yeah you grossly overate the West, The Clippers won't be there until they fire Vinny and Spurs/Lakers you are living in past. Blazers had a hot start but I think Magic are better and Mavs started off slow but we will see how they look like in a month. -

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 12, 2012 -> 09:08 PM) Which teams from the West if moved to the East would you pick over the Heat or Bulls? Hell, with Dwight still in Orlando I don't think any team in the West outside of the Thunder is better than them. -

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 11, 2012 -> 10:11 PM) And you know at least two, if not three, of those teams will get in with sub-.500 records. I dont know I think they can all get in at .500 or above. -

With having very little knowledge of all those people I'd want guy from giants or falcons. -
I used to play on Pokerstars all the time mostly doing sit and go's. It was easy money and worthwhile as long as you were running multiple tourneys at a time. Now that online poker is gone I've had to gravitate towards cash games which I used to hate. But when I have the extra cash I'll be at the Elgin boat casino on the 1/2 tables, I've actually learned to like cash games too haha.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 12:11 PM) It could have been a coaching decision on injury risk vs. winning a game against the Hawks that won't really matter that much. You really think any coach can hold out guys like Wade/Lebron if they want to play. I don't even think Larry Brown would be able to stop them if they wanted to play certainly not Spoelstra(sp?) -

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jan 5, 2012 -> 12:59 PM) Tomlin is 55-25 in the Regular Season. He won coach of the year in 2008. In the last 5 years he has taken his team to the Super Bowl twice. Winning one championship. He's done all of this before the age of 40. If that's not a top 5 coach, I don't know what is. He also inherited a team coming off winning a Superbowl. He walked into a perfect coaching job pretty much, he is a defensive minded coach but the team doesn't even run his defense. I guess he is good at staying out of his coordinators way and not making any Ron Zook like in game decisions. -

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 5, 2012 -> 11:48 AM) Fisher is a tremendous head coach and is one guy I would be completey on board with hiring over Lovie. Note: There aren't many guys I'd replace Lovie with in the league. I do think if you brought in a GM like the Ravens guy (who is the top candidate in the league) and the Bears loved him and he was in with the exception that he needed to have a shot to bring in his coach, than I'd probably do it. There are probably 5 coaches better than Lovie in this league: 1. Bellicheck 2. Sean Payton 3. McCarthy 4. Tomlin 5. Reid I think anyone else and you can make an argument Lovie is better. The next list, which includes Lovie, also includes Mike Smith, the Harbaugh Brothers, Shanny (I might include him in the top group), and Rex Ryan (who I happen to hate). You could also argue for Kubiak (who I'm a huge fan of). Which means, if you agree with my list, at worse, Lovie is the 11th or 12th best coach in the league. I happen to think he rates on par with everyone else on the list of this group of candidates and most definitely ahead of Rex. I don't think Tomlin deserves to be in top5, hell our resident Steelers fan always seems to be b****ing about him. Reid to me is the same as Martz, he gets in his own way too often.... I think given how bad the 49ers were last season you have to Jim Harbaugh in the top5 and I think I'd round it out with John Fox. I don't know what to make of Fisher, It's hard for me to want a guy that insisted on starting Kerry Collins when despite all his problems Vince Young was clearly the better choice imo or even a ton of guys off F/A would have given more production than Collins. -
QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 1, 2012 -> 04:36 PM) What's Bucky Larson's percentage? More importantly the first 2 movies scored well with fans that he posted so his point isn't even valid.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Dec 30, 2011 -> 10:20 PM) Well then they must have tapped in to a demographic that they didn't intend to, because it's a hit among college people I know. Also, it's rated PG-13. Not sure how "little kids" constitute teenagers, unless you are an old crotchety adult, which could be the case. Not sure what college you went too lol, it definitely wasn't a hit at mine.
