QUOTE (kapkomet @ Jul 11, 2010 -> 03:43 PM) I've admin'd forums for about 15 years now, you know, since Algore invented message boards ( ) and this place lets you do a lot of stuff that most places don't. It always is a good chuckle when I see that we are commies that want to kick the "free speech" thing down. I didnt say commies or any of that, just sometimes it seems when too people are disagreeing on a topic admins can be a little fast on the draw, I dont ever recall it from you 2 anyways.

Hopefully KW man's up and just cuts Kotsay when Teahen comes back, no reasoning behind keeping a veteran player hitting .230 no power and can only play 1B.

QUOTE (scenario @ Jul 11, 2010 -> 03:27 PM) So... if Beckham or Lillibridge got hurt on a play in the next two innings... who would finish the game at their position? Also could use Santos if need be, he was a middle fielder majority of his career.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 11, 2010 -> 03:32 PM) It's about time for Linebrink to go on his annual month and a half DL stint anyways, and the Sox don't need a 12th pitcher, so that's what I suggest. Hasnt Ozzie always carried 12 pitchers though, the most logical choice would have him taking Kotsay's place but we all know that wont happen.

QUOTE (mcgrad70 @ Jul 11, 2010 -> 02:55 PM) And all of those pitchers got better when they went to the NL and in a different culture. it was just too good to be true the Sox were going to have a 5 man rotation like that all year long. You are such a downer, especially for a new person

QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jul 11, 2010 -> 02:27 PM) I was hoping Hudson would be good... not so much here. Eh its his first start not going to put too much into it, we need to hold on and win this game and hopefully Hudson gives a better effort his next start.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 11, 2010 -> 02:26 PM) Detroit has even worse pitching and they have two flukes waiting to tank in Boesch and Jackson. I dont know if Id call Jackson a fluke, I think his avg will dip some but he didnt come out of no where like Boesch has.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 11, 2010 -> 02:06 PM) While it'd be neat, he has to go in as an Indian. Well what might come into play is how Cleveland fans have turned their back on him while in Chicago he is loved. -
QUOTE (girlslikebaseballtoo#26 @ Jul 11, 2010 -> 01:42 PM) Katy Perry FOR ANYONE WHO EVER SAID SHE ISN'T CURVY!!! The girl is FREAKING GORGEOUS!!! Yeah I saw that music video the other day and I have a new found love for Katy Perry.

QUOTE (jaxsoxfan @ Jul 11, 2010 -> 12:32 PM) Would anyone be interested in Nate Mclouth, hes recovering from a concussion right now but has the speed on defense and decent power from left side. Might be a cheaper option then some of the other big names mentioned, I havent heard anything just wondering if he is a name that might come up as under the radar. He is a poor defender and really isnt that great of an offensive player either, I guess if Atlanta was literally giving him away Id be ok but besides that not much of a fan.

If anything I think sometimes the mods are a little bit too strict, vast majority of posters are senior in highschool or older so not like a bunch of kids that need policing. Sure sometimes it gets nasty and a warning to cool things down is needed but overall there shouldnt be much policing.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 11, 2010 -> 10:29 AM) And I am really getting tired of Pierre. What I'd do to swap him for Dejesus. Right now our biggest hole is at DH, seeing Kotsay/Andruw take bats in that position distracts me from the other weaknesses in the lineup.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 10, 2010 -> 02:00 PM) Except for that people keep ignoring the fact that the Astros owner has said publicly he will eat more cash on trades in order to acquire better prospects. He has finally realized they have to pay the piper and get some good young talent in their system... Right but than you take into the fact his age and the fact he is having a mediocre season there is no way they are going to get premium talent for Berkman even if the owner pays the entire contract.
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 10, 2010 -> 01:48 PM) I don't really even think it matters anymore...our system is so thin right now the answers to all these types of questions are going to be "Flowers and Viciedo." With Berkman given his age and contract he prob could be had for a guy like Morel or Danks2 or both.

Man defends property against 'illegal' thieves....

QUOTE (Soxy @ Jul 10, 2010 -> 12:01 PM) Okay, I'm not sure I see your point. Frankly, I wasn't responding to the story at all. I was only responding to Y2HH's pronouncement that criminals needed to die and are worthless. The guy who was defending his property/whatever did what he thought was right and made his choice. Just like the thieves. My point is that both the guy that shot them and the thieves are more than that one night where all this went down. I can't really say either of them are horrible people. They both did something stupid and illegal. None of them should have their humanity revoked. Won't be the first time I'm called self-righteous, won't be the last. Its not a big deal, I wasnt really agreeing with Y2HH or you... kinda a middle ground inbetween. I think all life is valuable, but I guess the best way to explain it is if I had to choose between the old man or the thieves in this case and one had to die it wouldnt exactly be a tough choice? And that I can understand him shooting at them given the heat of the moment and the fact he thought they put his life at risk too, although I dont own any guns myself so wouldn't be an issue if it happened to me. -

QUOTE (Soxy @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 01:04 PM) How so? I'm genuinely curious. Because I don't think anyone is subhuman or deserves death I am closed minded? Not so much the deserving death but his point of if some is a career criminal with major felony charges against him Id like to think my word and my life would mean a little bit more than his. You kinda just completely shut that part out and came off imo as self righteous and whatnot. -
One bad stretch of games or if they fail to win the championship this season Im sure Riley will step in and take over as head coach, but I guess cant blame someone for wanting to coach a team with 3 superstars.

QUOTE (Soxy @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 10:33 AM) Oh, goodness, you are rich. To be fair you were being just as close minded as him just on the opposite fence. I think some charges need to be brought up to the guy but having someone steal from you and almost run you over I can understand shooting at them, dont think a victim deserves to spend the rest of his life behind bars. -
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 11:54 AM) You do realize that prior to MJ winning the Bulls had never won a championship. You do realize that MJ never even made the NBA finals until the year they beat the Pistons. MJ could have left, but he knew the only way to be the best, was to beat the best. And so when the Bulls downed the Pistons and then took out the Lakers, MJ became the greatest guard alive. He beat Magic, he beat Isaih. He didnt leave to go play with them. And if Lebron is happy with being 2nd or 3rd tier, then he just isnt as good as I thought he was. Today's NBA its Kobe 1, and then the rest of the pack. Here is what Lebron accomplished: 1) Make Kobe likable and the best player in the NBA today, 2) He made himself unlikable. I understand your a Heat fan, but universally this move is getting panned and Lebron's image may be irreparably harmed. I think some of it is because the initial shock factor and the fact that we are all Bulls fans here and were hoping he would land in Chicago. I think we can thank JR for him not being a Bull in the end, he prob. told him all the s*** with his entourage wasnt going to fly and that was it for Lebron.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 02:09 AM) I don't think there's any way you can add Richardson, Morrow, Asik, and one of Livingston/Ridnour with the amount of money we have. Well Richardson is first, I dont really dig Brewer unless he comes on the super cheap as Id assume would be same for Livingston. Otherwise just bring back Acie Law and Flip Murray.
-
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 02:02 AM) Here's what I'd like to see: Trade whatever for Richardson, if you can get him for a trade exception or something, wonderful. Sign Brewer to be your backup shooting guard. Sign Livingston or Ridnour to be your backup PG and fill out the last 3-5 spots with minimum guys from the summer league team. Rose Richardson Deng Boozer Noah Brewer Gibson Ridnour/Livingston Asik Johnson MIN MIN Id rather sign Morrow than Brewer, but other than that I dig it. I wish somehow we could find a way to trade for Carmelo, convince Nuggets Deng and Johnson or whatever is better than nothing.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 01:44 AM) Richardson is as close as it gets. Decent offensively, adequate defensively. Also a willing passer and is a much more consistant 3 point shooter. Bulls definitely have some room to be a contender still, they should be sending out feelers on how Carmelo's future looks because if he comes than our team is every bit as talented as the Heat. Id definitely be down for JRich too as Phoenix cant have much hope and a cheap owner that would prob be willing to unload contracts.

Yes, ok we know Lebron is going to Miami.... so what are in the Bulls plans now?
