QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 12, 2010 -> 01:20 PM) It is stupid if we are changing Viciedo's position because of Teahen. I thought it had a lot to do with Viciedo was a butcher at 3B despite Cubano trying to convince us otherwise and the fact that the wsox are so high on Morel.

QUOTE (knightni @ May 12, 2010 -> 09:57 PM) Kobe Bryant was a superior player at 25 than LeBron. so was MJ. Lebron scores just as much as Kobe did at the same age, shoots more efficiently, more rebounds, more assists, steals the same, and blocks more. In what way was Kobe superior besides man on man defense.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 12, 2010 -> 09:35 PM) Someone in the catch all said if Short hits .400, they could care less about how much he walks. I agree. Well if you are hitting at such a high avg. he isnt getting much chance to walk. How much is he striking out?

QUOTE (knightni @ May 12, 2010 -> 08:30 PM) Yes, there are others. I wouldn't dislike getting LeBron, but Wade is a better fit, IMO. James is a sore loser, a child and really obnoxious; he's also arguably the best player under 28 in this league. I agree Wade is more likeable than Lebron by far, but there is no better fit in this league than Lebron because he by far and away is the best player. I have Wade 3rd on my list after Bosh, but for obvious reasons Id be ecstatic if Bulls landed any of those 3.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 11, 2010 -> 04:44 PM) Are you Wilt Chamberlain or Gene Simmons? Warren Beatty? LOL. I'll nominate my "ex" wife (well, we've been separated for 4 1/2 years), I always joked she was the Russian Jessica Alba. BTW, don't bother to e-mail her, she already has a fiance, lol. www.irina.s5.com If you want to see the hottest girl I've ever been with, just google "Davon Kim," she's one of my best friends, originally from Cebu City in the Philippines, she's most definitely not Korean. And no, you can't have her e-mail, lol....she's married and living at an undisclosed location in Europe. If you saw all the pictures from the Philippines, Thailand, China....you would wonder why I ever posted here or listened to White Sox games at all. The funniest, though, was when I met Dennis Rodman's dad hanging out in the Philippines. His name is Philander (literally) Rodman and he has at least 19 different kids in the world, although he said the real numbers are in the 30's or 40's range when I asked him if it was true. Crazy guy. I could understand, when he was famous, chicks like Madonna being after his son, but there's nothing really compelling about his father that would cause every woman to want to sleep with him. For the record, I'll trade all those girls for the one in Rock Raines' avatar, but he's never divulged that information. She's like Kristin Kreuk merged with Racheal Leigh Cooke WITH A SOX HAT, lol. But I really have to get one of the KTV girls here in China (the ones with five inch platform heels, those black stockings that should have a garter that the girls wear up to mid thigh, mini-skirt, XXXS blouse) to pose with my White Sox cap on so I can change my avatar. But I love El Gran Titan de Bronze too much!!! If those are the girls you are hanging out with I really need to become your friend. Not too mention I loved China when I went lol so Im assuming Thailand/Philippines would be fun as well

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 12, 2010 -> 01:51 PM) Deng is almost necessary to move as he won't have a position if LeBron comes here. If the Bulls sign Lebron and cant get Amare/Bosh in a S&T, would Minny consider moving Al Jefferson. I know he has his flaws, but he would be a low post scorer and being the 3rd option on a team I think he could easily score 18-20 ppg efficiently.
-
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 12, 2010 -> 01:08 PM) The key is, who the Bulls feel they should trade is going to be heavily based upon who the first target is. The only team that appears to be potentially open to a sign and trade are Phoenix & Toronto (Amare & Bosh). And I think the Bulls #1 target is LBJ so you wouldn't want to trade someone Lebron feels would be a good fit. How sick would the Bulls be if they got Lebron and one of Bosh/Amare. That could very well be the start of a new dynasty, with the chance of being better than our last one.

QUOTE (knightni @ May 10, 2010 -> 01:32 PM) Ruth only had 714. Williams could have had anywhere from 700-750 HR. It's all semantics anyway. ... Are you nitpicking me recently because you feel you need to defend the honor and truthfulness of Soxtalk, or are you singling me out because you just don't like me? Im saying its ridiculous to say Ted Williams is underated and you were being inconsistant with first blowing away all of Ruths stats when most likely he still would have had less HR's and you even admitted so by giving him an avg of 30 those missing years. Im not going to attack someone because I just dont care for them, if that was the case there are posters I dislike far more than I ever could you.

Official 2010-2011 NCAA Football Thread

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ May 10, 2010 -> 04:34 PM) While I have no love for ND, they would bring in a ton of revenue and their football program is solid. ND isnt joining, they have no reason too. -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 10, 2010 -> 08:50 AM) Not disagreeing. Just not going to use rebounds as a metric for how Rose develops. With Noah on that team, there shouldn't be more than a handful of rebounds a game that get out to Rose. Right which is why I pointed out I think you meant to highlight the 13 not the 18 when you were making your point. Although, maybe once would be fun for Rose to get 18 reboards just so everyone can say how amazing he is.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 10, 2010 -> 08:34 AM) When a PG gets that many rebounds...IMO, it's often a combination of being in the right system to do so and having bigs who aren't doing the rebounding job or who are getting shut down by someone else in the game. I'm not sure I ever look at that as a positive. Well right but you cant take it away from him that his teamates didnt show up, he got the points and did the dirty work and carried them vs the Cavs. Im not a big Rondo fan but last night he was a machine.
-
QUOTE (knightni @ May 10, 2010 -> 03:56 AM) I meant that while east coast fans worship the guy more than he deserves, the stats he produced in limited games played could have been huge if he hadn't had prime years taken away by military service. He lost ages 24-26 and a good part of his early and mid-30s (31, 33, 34, 36) to time away from the game. You average 30 HR per year added and he could have finished with around 700. So you go from blowing Babe Ruth from every stat too maybe around 700 HR's which is less than Ruth...He was a great hitter and yes he lost some time which sucks but there is nothing underrated about him.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 10, 2010 -> 07:45 AM) IMO, the best things to help DR1 at this point are: 1. a legitimate coach, and 2., someone for him to pass to. The 18 he had was for rebounds, which is what made Rondo's game so sick last night. Im assuming you thought it was assists.
-
QUOTE (knightni @ May 9, 2010 -> 08:57 PM) Underrated by stats or underrated by fandom? Ted Williams is overrated by fans but his career is underrated because without WWII and Korea stints, he would have blown Babe Ruth off of the top of every stat record. That doesnt really make sense, everyone knows his career was shortened by wars and even without them there is a decent chance he doesnt break the all time HR record unless he played another season or so at the end of his career.

QUOTE (G&T @ May 9, 2010 -> 08:36 PM) Here's the story I dont get that one bit, I thought Howard was awesome in the first Iron Man and the perfect actor for the role, imo from the get go Don Cheadle didn't sound like a good person for the role and I was pretty upset that they changed actors. Maybe Im wrong, but I thought the general public was perfectly fine with the job Howard did in the first Iron Man.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 8, 2010 -> 04:21 PM) so what you are saying is that you have been losing a lot of money playing poker? Well winning playing poker but yes

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 8, 2010 -> 10:26 AM) If you call him up right now he'll make us jealous for Pierre's ground balls. At least strikeouts wont be double plays

Ill see if I can make it out there, although lately Ive been obsessed with either getting lucky or playing poker at nights.

Draft Preview: High School Hitters, Part 2
GoodAsGould replied to Ozzie Ball's topic in FutureSox Board
QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ May 8, 2010 -> 08:29 AM) I'd love to see a study on what a dollar spent in the draft is worth in terms of future value. Perhaps that's something I'll try to tackle in the summer. Wilson/Ragira would be pretty sweet. With this deep high school pitching class I'd look to drop one (or more) of them in rounds 2 - 5, RHP Mike Foltynewicz from Minooka HS (IL) is one of my favorites there, although he could go supplemental 1st. Well one way or another its cheaper money initially than bringing in a big free agent, and that matters too. Not too mention it adds flexibility/tradechip, so there is more than just if he eventually becomes a good player or not when figuring out that equation. -
Draft Preview: High School Hitters, Part 2
GoodAsGould replied to Ozzie Ball's topic in FutureSox Board
Dang, I hope the Wsox go crazy and take Austin Wilson in 1st and go ahead and grab his would be future teamate at Stanford Brian Ragira in the 2nd. Investing the money in the draft is sure of a hell lot cheaper than F/A and can never have too much talent. -
HAWKS WIN! HAWKS WIN THE STANLEY CUP!!
GoodAsGould replied to southsider2k5's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 6, 2010 -> 12:44 AM) You're a better poster than this nonsense, come on now man. .................... As for the game tonight, not much needs to be said. The last 40 minutes were just awesome hockey by the Hawks, and the first 20 was just an incredible display by Niemi. Great goaltending, ugly goals, adequate defense, just a great performance. Yeah I dont know how anyone can complain about the talent in the NBA, the West was incredibly stacked, every playoff team was incredible and 50 plus win seasons. Not too mention 3 pretty talented teams behind those in Memphis, Houston, and NO with a healthy Paul. East also has some pretty solid teams including 3 title contenders. Also in the off-season chance it adds a couple more teams to that mix. -
Royals @ White Sox, 5/5 Game THREAD

Can someone teach Quentin how to take a pitch, a little patience would go a long way with him. -
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 4, 2010 -> 12:43 AM) Ubaldo Jimenez is this year's Zack Greinke. And unlike ZG, he's actually on a good team. Im not sure if we can call the Rockies good yet since Jimenez has half of their wins.

QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ May 3, 2010 -> 11:52 PM) I was playing poker like crazy a couple of months ago. And then I went to Vegas and played for like three days straight. Haven't had the desire to play since then. What happened in Vegas that killed your desire lol?? I usually go through fazes where I love playing poker all the time and than times where I dont want to touch it. Right now im on pokerstars everynight hitting up the 4.40 SNG's.

QUOTE (3E8 @ May 3, 2010 -> 10:43 PM) #54, it's a $1K no-limit hold 'em tourney on 6/1. The main event is just a few days after So if you cash enough in that event, any chance you try the main event as well or would it be too late to sign up. Ive always wanted to do a WSOP event but cash/time have prevented me.
