  1. QUOTE (3E8 @ May 3, 2010 -> 09:43 PM) I'm playing in the WSOP this year Which events are you entering in?
  2. And why bring in Thornton in a game we winning 5-0, this would be a time for Putz.
  3. Why would Ozzie bring Peavy out for the 8th, can he not just let him leave a start feeling good about himself?
  4. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 3, 2010 -> 06:19 PM) http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?sh...5&start=375 Post #379 Yeah I was screaming for Scheppers at the time as well, but that clearly was a money issue and not talent evaluation. Everyone knew Scheppers had the stuff to perform well.
  5. The last 2 drafts I loved the Wsox 1st round choice and than later in draft getting guys like Danks/Thompson. It's every other round they need to improve upon, despite Morel's success from all accounts he was a super overdraft at the time and I personally hated the Phegley pick since an unproven bat to go along with questionability if he can play the position longterm. Hopefully they continue their success this year and we dont get any Broadway/McCulloch like that last mock draft has them taking.
  6. I know poker threads have been deleted in the past but I've gotten the ok from the administrator as long as no illegal online sites are linked. So, I'll start it off by saying I'm addicted to online poker and have spent my last 2 weekends on pokerstars, how about all of you?

Denise Milani, I could die happy if I was with her
  8. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 30, 2010 -> 10:49 PM) I'm sorry, but this just pisses me off to no end. Oh, he's a black basketball player so he must smoke weed? Jamal Crawford has actually spoken out against smoking and says he doesn't need to "get high" with that when basketball is the ultimate high. Come on, man. I wouldnt look too much into it, Knightni is incorrect on what he says majority of the time
  9. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 30, 2010 -> 11:05 AM) I don't know why I continue to watch LA Ink. It's so awful and staged. Kat is hot and some of the tattoos look cool?
  10. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 11:29 PM) I wonder if there's a chance Mark Cuban fires Rick Carlisle in the next few days after they got knocked out by the Spurs tonight. And would that be a good coach for the Bulls to go after? I dont think he would really be an upgrade, I have no idea why he sat the Mavs best player for the first 3 quarters for almost the entire 4th, Beaubois

QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 02:48 PM) Oscar! I dont support anything that makes fun of Shawshank Redemption.
  12. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 10:10 PM) J4L, do you expect people who already have allegiances to other teams to just jump ship? I mean, they're a very new team and have done seemingly little to ever garner a fan base. The few people I could see rooting for a team like that are Tampa area residents that were born in the last 15 years or so. Also, what's up with Howell? If I was to move to another city that didnt host a team I hated, it's likely that I'd adopt them as my 2nd team. Add on to it that this is the 3rd season in a row they have a pretty competitive team, so enough for a solid group of bandwagon fans to join in the fun. Florida just doesnt seem like a baseball state, the Marlins won 2 WS and cant get a fanbase either.
  13. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 05:41 PM) No. That's why it was a wild pitch. That doesnt mean he couldnt have stopped it.....
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 11:13 AM) The conversation was about the decision-making of the Indians...or decent players on the M's, I can't even remember and am not going to bother to backtrack all the way through the thread..trading Franklin Gutierrez for what they got back was epic stupid/fail. It was about the decision making of the M's and you or someone posted a stupid decision by the Indians.
  15. I haven't put much into researching the law besides glancing at this thread and an article or two, but I'd imagine the primary focus would be to attack companies that hire illegal immigrants. As far as profiling individuals, I think the only reason one would have to worry is if they are gang related, doing something illegal/suspicous, or like previously mentioned if a cop pulls over a car for speeding/running a light/etc. and driver cant produce a license.
  16. QUOTE (NIUSox @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 12:50 PM) I've been going to the Canucks message board the last few days and they all are in agreement that they hate Buff. This is great news, Buff was awesome in front of Luongo last year. BTW Canuck fans may be the whiniest fans in all of sports. Everything I have read over there is that the refs weren't calling anything on the Hawks last year, and we were/are a dirty team. They also think that there is a conspiracy that the NHL doesn't want a Canadian team to win the cup. It always gives me a good laugh going over there. I talked to a friend who is a diehard Canucks fan and he is convinced that they are the favorites in the series and the better team without a doubt.... I know everyone is a homer when it comes to their team but considering we beat them last season and better record this season it was a little puzzling to me...
  17. QUOTE (chisoxfan09 @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 12:30 PM) Are we more homers than the flubbie fans? Everyone on this board is a homer
  18. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 11:38 AM) Because it's a stupid, juvenile marketing effort that no one outside of Chicago homers will give a damn about? You think the players get amped up fighting for a worthless statue invented circa 2010? That's some great tradition. The majority of fans for both teams fall into that category, so you made a point for having a trophy.
  19. I dont understand why so many of you are against it, fans love the crosstown series and if you attend any of those games the atmosphere is awesome. If I was a player I'd love playing those games too, I know Rowand always did. The trophy sure is a bit silly, but I think its an overall fun idea.
  20. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 27, 2010 -> 05:46 PM) Julius Peppers got paid. Good luck getting consistent effort out of him now, as that's always an issue (including last year), let alone after he gets paid. To say we have no idea how this season will play out is overly hopeful. You could argue the Packers and Vikings (if Favre comes back) are the two best teams in the NFC not named New Orleans. The Bears haven't done nearly enough to catch either of those teams. Peppers has a clause in his contract that he can be cut after 1 season, the Bears have a chance to be a really good team again. I still think they should consider a few more f/a's as stopgaps but we'll see how that turns out. As for Hester, from what I heard is that Martz wants him more of a slot guy but Lovie wont hear anything of it and demands he the number 1 guy.
  21. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 27, 2010 -> 01:04 PM) 12 forced fumbles and 5 interceptions in 3 yrs with Carolina. I love the move. I was on the Atogwe bandwagon but I guess with Harris/Wright that addresses the safety position pretty well. Harris/Tillman are definitely the 2 best guys in the league in forcing fumbles which should be fun. Now lets end the off-season on a high and sign Henderson the DT from the Jags and Faneca as a stop gap for the O-Line.
  22. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 27, 2010 -> 01:31 AM) Don't trip. I had never heard of the dude until like two weeks ago. Probably because he stunk his last stint in the majors. Went to Japan and did good and the Rangers gave him a lot of money considering the economy and the problem f/a's have had.
  23. Dont know if this was posted, but apparently when Keith was in the penalty box in game 4 a fan started heckling him, Keith got the last laugh though. http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puck_dadd...?urn=nhl,236817
  24. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 26, 2010 -> 02:38 PM) But, to be fair, we were saying the same things when we jettisoned: Nick Swisher O-Cab Aardsma (although we seem to have his number as an M's closer) Rauch Masset MacDougal Juan Uribe Joe Crede Willie Harris ETC. Yes, Thornton turned out great. Just like the acquisition of Marte around 2002, both became arguably the best LH set-up guys in baseball for 2-3 years stretches w/ the White Sox. Ok, the bolded guys dont make any sense to be on the list. I can almost include Masset because he wouldnt even be on our current bullpen, only guy he is better than is Randy Williams. Really, Aardsma and Rauch are the 2 that got away I guess... but Rauch was traded more for attitude than performance.
  25. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 26, 2010 -> 03:20 PM) There are now 4 guys in the NL who are 4-0 with ERAs of 1 or lower Ubaldo Jimenez Roy Halladay Tim Lincecum Mike Pelfrey (one of these things is not like the other, one of this things just doesn't belong) He only 2-1, but can almost throw Livan Hernandez on that list as well.
