QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 02:46 PM) I see so taking the first step penalizes someone. I guess KW should have just sat on his thumbs and kept his B+ <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Your missing the point. He took the easiest step in signing the new guy. The harder part is getting rid of the guy you want gone. Willie needs to go and a UIF needs to be brought in. Simple as that.

QUOTE(FISK72GOAT @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 02:40 PM) - the guy on the coach <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What the hell is this supposed to be... I hope your saying couch. Otherwise it sounds kind of gay...

How long before the Tribune reveals the attack to be a Sox fan? Seriously though Wrigleyville has become such a dump lately. This is what you get when you turn your neighborhood into the world's biggest frat party.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 02:37 PM) Getting someone off of the roster starts with replacing them <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Exactly...his grade will go back up to an A the moment he finishes the job. If Willie stays the C- stays.

Words cannot properly describe what a sick freak this guy is. Stuff like this should get people life in prison. Heck isn't this how most Serial Killers start out? This guy needs to be commited to a psych ward and never let out. If he is released he will kill a least one person in his life time (if he hasn't already).

QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 02:31 PM) But Willie's not just a 2B. He's also a reliable OFer. That opes the door to more possibilities for a trade. There are also solid relievers available. Consider this: Harris + PTBNL (the Sox depth you mentioned incl Adkins) for Bradford (A's). Oakland saves $, & gets two cheap above average players in return. Beane always seems to know more about our talent then we do so I'm sure he would know which PTBNL to pick to make the trade worth his while. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Bradford is a puke. He's nothing but a right handed Wunsch. There is a reason KW dumped him. IMO we need to trade Harris for a veteran UIF that can play a solid SS and 3B. Maybe not with as much offensive potential as Willie but more defensive flexibility.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 02:27 PM) So he dropped that far with the signing of a Japanese call star for 1/3 of his original asking price? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> IMO yes. Until he shows that he has a plan to get Willie off the roster (since he hurts us being on the bench).

QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 10:51 AM) The poor woman needs to be put out her misery. We are more humane to animals than we are to humans. We'll put and old dog to sleep before we'll pull the plug and a person that has no chance of recovery. "They shoot horses, don't they?" <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree. I could see if she had any sort of quality of life at all.

KW earns a C- so far from me which has dropped from the B+ he had last week. Why you may be asking? Because he has yet to close the bigger hole on this team. He needs to trade Willie to make room for a middle infielder or he needs to send Willie down to AAA and sign a middle infielder. Either way until one of those happens I just can't give him a higher grade...
-
QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 02:16 PM) Don't be too disheartened because your Castillo idea was based on sound thinking. And I agree, I believe Willie will be traded for some AAA,AA depth. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think everyone here would rather of had Castillo then Iguchi all things being even. Ohh well...

I'm too lazy to read the thread but I really hope some of you aren't expecting too much out of them. If this guy can match Willie's .260 .340 then I will be satisfied. I doubt he even sniffs .300 this year.
-
I'm too lazy to read this entire thread so sorry if someone else brought it up but I think the Cardinals would be the biggest market for Willie at this point. I doubt they are sold on Grudz and he is injury prone. Not to mention that Willie might even be able to do some of what Wolmack did last year.
-
IMO Everett will have a huge year. If Pods starts out ala 2004 and Rowand, Dye, and Everett are hot I won't be at all suprised to see him benched. Pods is a much bigger ? then Everett at this point.
-
Right between the WhiteSox.com board and the ESPN boards...
-
I just read a thing in the paper about him the other day. It's a shame to know he's gone.
-
I would much rather have Castillo then Iguchi because when Pods fails in the leadoff spot (...and sadly he will) then the team won't totally collapse. Some of you seem to think Iguchi is just going to pick up a bat and be a lock to hit .300 his first year. Remember our leadoff hitter had an OBP of .313 last year. Castillo is insurance for more then just the infield. I'm much rather have Castillo then Marte and i'd much rather the Sox spent the cash and got the proven comodity.

QUOTE(bmags @ Jan 22, 2005 -> 02:39 PM) i realize that, but it still seems a bit absurd that so many succesful people in the music industry aren't even musicians. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That is why I hate American Idol so much. So what you can sing. What about all the people who can sing and play and instrument.
-
I fully expect them to make the playoffs. I think they will go out in the first or second round though. I don't see them winning a championship but the playoffs would be a huge jump from where they were.
-
I think Willie could be a solid starting 2B if Ozzie gave him some playing time. However guys like Jim and Addison are right he does have attitude problems. If he ends up on our bench in 05 then it leaves us with only one guy in Uribe who can play SS. I would much rather have Ozuna and Valdez on the bench then Harris. Not to mention if you look at his first years as a part time player they were far from impressive (remember when he could barely break the Mendoza line). As a starting 2B he's servicable but he's not a bench player. If we could trade him for Tony G. I'd do it in a heartbeat as long as he passes a physical.

I have no opinion on the ad one way or another... But really how many translations of the Bible do we need. I mean it seems like the church keeps trying to periodically dumb down the message. I mean I can see not wanting to wade through the King James version but the New International Version reads just fine. Isn't it a sin to alter the bible by the way? *Hunts for Bible to look it up*

QUOTE(WSFAN35 @ Jan 22, 2005 -> 11:40 AM) Harris can play more than one position. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ok let me clarify... We need INFIELDERS on the bench who can play more then one INFIELD position. Harris playing CF might be a nice for a team that didn't have 5 outfielders already but it's useless for us.
-
QUOTE(The Critic @ Jan 22, 2005 -> 11:16 AM) I'm neither here nor there on them. I find them funny in this order: Ron White Bill Engvall Larry The Cable Guy Jeff Foxworthy <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think Jeff Foxworthy is way funnier then Larry the Cable guy (not that it's saying much considering Larry the Cable guy is an example of the lowest common denominator of comedy.) Ron White is the funniest part of the entire thing and his absence is the reason their TV show isn't that great.

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jan 22, 2005 -> 11:27 AM) It'll be Valdez, they don't have anyone else who can play SS and Uribe will need a day off every once in a while. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This is why we need to get rid of Harris as soon as a replacement secondbasemen in signed. They need to either trade him or place him in AAA because there is no room at all for him on this team. He's either the starting secondbasemen or he's worthless to us. We need guys on the bench who can play more then one position. He doesn't fit. Hopefully we can trade for him for some type of barely holding on MIF with more defensive versatility then he has.

My girlfriend recently brought home their new album and I have to admit there were a few decent songs on it. I certainly have heard worse. So I just thought i'd pose the question to you guys. Do you think they really suck or will they just never live down the crap they did as kids?

This is a very sad story. However something creepy about this thread is you all keep refering to him as "that actor" from Moesha. The poor guy had a name. Lamont Bentley. R.I.P. Lamot!
