  1. QUOTE(Chisoxmatt @ Jan 21, 2005 -> 03:51 PM) No doubt about that. Spod rowand dye perez Everett Gload Borchard All these guys would get OF playing time before Escobar would. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Escobar has to be ahead of Borchard unless he goes down to AAA and hits .350 + and 50 HR's. I think KW got Escobar and Timo as insurance against having to ever bring Borchard back to the big club.
  2. There is a special place in hell for people like this.
  3. QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 21, 2005 -> 09:47 AM) Police said a woman alleged she complained to Cosby about having stress and tension, and he gave her some pills that made her dizzy. According to a police report, the woman said her memory is poor from that night but she does recall Cosby allegedly touching her breast and placing her hand on his genitals. The alleged victim claimed she awoke about 4 a.m. with her clothing in disarray and bra undone. She allegedly drove herself home. http://www.nbc10.com/news/4113118/detail.html <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ohh Grandpa... :rolly
  4. You know how you can tell that article is BS. Mark Buherle is mentioned and has never had any arm problem as far as I can tell yet Mark Prior is barely mentioned (doesn't make the list) and Kerry Wood isn't anywhere on the site. Anyone who thinks Buherle is more of a risk then these two don't know anything about baseball.
  5. Now is the time for Kenny to stick to his guns. Offer him incentives to get to 3 Mil Per but don't just give it to him.
  6. Why in the heck would you want to snort anything off a toliet lid? Especially a public toliet lid? *Shudder*
  7. People who mistreat animals make me sick!
  8. Just more proof he's the worst manager in the game today. I have a theory that a chimp with ADD could have managed those Giants teams he had to the playoffs.
  9. 1980's: Harold Baines, Carlton Fisk 1990's: Frank Thomas, Wilson Alverez 2000's: Aaron Rowand, Mark Buherle
  10. QUOTE(JimH @ Jan 20, 2005 -> 08:13 AM) If this happens - again, which I doubt - the scenario would more likely be Larkin at SS for 90-100 starts with Uribe taking on a similar role to last year, i.e. some SS, 2B, 3B. Two reasons I do not see it happening, one, KW is so aggressive he would've already put the full court press on Larkin and gotten him to agree or definitively say "no". Second reason, that big contract Uribe just got. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Uribe's contract will have no affect on Larkin because KW and Ozzie see Uribe as a 2B just as much as a SS. Willie would be the one on the bench.
  11. It was funny until the end. Then it just became sad. :headshake
  12. Maybe. It'll be the same as Omar Vizquel on the last two years of that deal he got. If it's a 1 year deal at the league minimum then I say go for it. Tell him the job is his to lose in spring training.
  13. I'm kind of shocked we offered two C's minor league deals since we already have Davis as a backup and Burke in AAA not to mention AJ. I'm also suprised we didn't sign any pitchers to minor league deals. I guess KW thinks Grilli really could come through for us in a pinch.
  14. QUOTE(mrzo2733 @ Jan 18, 2005 -> 09:24 PM) I guess I agree with something someone mentioned a bit ago. In this case, I think we have to trust our scouts. They seem to have hit on Shingo. I think it would be a good investment and personally hope it gets done because I'm tired of seeing Willie bunt every first at bat and not be able to get a sacrifice down when it counts. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not to beat a dead horse but who the hell do you think was the one telling Willie to bunt every first at bat? It was Ozzie. Hell it was also one of the main reasons AROW struggled at the beginning of the year. Ozzie handcuffs them at the plate and makes them bunt and then somehow acts shocked when the other team is actually smart enough to expect it and play right on the grass. It wasn't until Ozzie actually got desperate and let Aaron swing that he actually got hot. I think if given a full year Willie would out perform any potential Iguchi signing, however since the White Sox brass are treating him like s*** then I have no faith that Ozzie would give him a setting in which he could succeed. Hopefully i'm wrong though.
  15. IMO Jose needs to be the #5. At least Garland is fairly consistant with what he gives us. With Jose he's either dominating and throwing a shut out or he's giving up 10 runs. No real middle ground. Plus lord only knows how old he really is.
  16. QUOTE(sircaffey @ Jan 19, 2005 -> 08:49 AM) You think the Sox will go with a 6 or 7 man bullpen? 6 man: Shingo Marte Vizcaino Hermanson Politte Cotts 7 man: Shingo Marte Vizcaino Hermanson Politte Cotts Diaz, Munoz, or Grilli? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If Grilli makes the pen it means that KW and Ozzie have suffered severe brain damage and should be taken to the hospital. It'll be Diaz, Munoz, or Adkins.
  17. I really think the time it coming for Jason Grilli to be taken off the 40 man roster. He is a waste of roster space. Diaz out performed him in AAA and at least had a couple of decent starts at the major league level. Worst case scenario we designate him for assignment and he ends up in Charlotte. Best case scenario someone claims him and we no longer have to worry about KW bringing him up.
  18. I don't see how Aurelia is an upgrade over anything and he'd be too expensive as a backup. No thanks!
  19. This reminds me of a line from that Clerks Cartoon DVD... Steve-Dave- Will this administation ever bring the Hambugler to justice. Mayor McCheese- No...I mean Yes...look does anyone have a question about the deadly virus that could kill us all? Some Guy- Can the virus kill the Grimace? Mayor McCheese- Nothing can kill the Grimice...
  20. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 18, 2005 -> 06:43 PM) Off the top of my head... Nolan Ryan Cy Young Sandy Kofax Christy Mathewson Walter Johnson Warren Spahn Steve Carlton Tom Seaver Randy Johnson I would have also put Pedro and Greg Maddux ahead of him from this generation on a career basis. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Where on earth is Bob Gibson on that list. He has to be at least 10th. He's ahead of Johnson for sure.
  21. QUOTE(Butter Parque @ Jan 18, 2005 -> 05:15 PM) I think you will see the white sox trade for Tony Graffanino, and then platoon him with Willie Harris. The team will then be set, and it leaves room for the sox to trade mid-season. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It would be the ideal situation if TG is healthy. By way the glad that we got Vizcaino signed for next year.
  22. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Jan 18, 2005 -> 06:59 PM) I see that Roberto appears to have signed on with the D-Rays. Not much more info, but maybe KW can trade for him a third time? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's nice he's on a team that will give him consistant playing time. I hope he can get to 3,000 hits....
  23. I'm just glad Family Guy is back... I still watch the Simpsons by the way. It's not that bad...
  24. Can you blame the guy? I mean he has done it all. This is just him putting a figure that he knows the Astros would never jump on.
  25. You know there are some teenagers who are going to read this and start chugging mouthwash... :headshake
