hate to say I told you so, but I did. all offseason I said eloy is a dh and if we put him in the OF he's going to get injured. Didn't even take the regular season for it to happen. And the worst (saddest?) thing is that this is the second major incident in the OF just this spring. (other being running into Luis) Absolutely bonkers.

Yankees just put Mike Tauchman on the trade block apparently (brand new rumor). Their looking for a RP it seems. I would think that after this injury, the CWS are in on it. That's just my speculation.

The pitch out stuff is not really making sense to me. I mean, was that really a problem? I hadn't heard about it being an issue. Seems very stupid to make this rule change. The elimination of shift is at least slightly more reasonable, but I don't like it in general. Limiting the opposing teams defensive strategy just to manipulate the game so there's more hits seems lame as hell. Invest in better hitting strategies, different types of hitters, etc.

Not quite the same. Tatis Jr is on another level. Eloy is amazing in his own right, but Tatis Jr is a top 3 talent in the game, absolute generational talent right now.

Yeah... seriously, anyone expecting Kopech to be a factor in the rotation this year was not using their brain. Just seeing him pitch meaningful innings will be a positive.

My point was that the Front office wasn't educated enough to sign Ozuna instead. They tend to spread the money around to mediocre or weak players.

The problem with the who cares its just money argument is that edwin sucked. White Sox spent 12 mil on Edwin to be a negative asset to this team. They could have spent 18 mill on Ozuna to have an MVP candidate. They always go for the second servings or worse with these signings. Pay up a bit more, get the value back.

I get your points but the major problem is the teams on the bottom not spending. The very tiny problem is the disparity between large markets and small. I gurantee you that difference isn’t as big as it seems. These low narket teams are liw market because their pocketing the money.

Maybe I didn't read the whole thread correctly, but this list is based on best short stops in the game of baseball for 2021, not the best for the CWS? If you are making the argument Tatis Jr vs. Tim Anderson for the CWS in 2021, yeah, maybe you can argue that (I still pick Tatis Jr, but it's really much closer).

Hi Thecommish. You were right. Many people did not like the 3 year commitment idea. I scraped that away. Unfortunately, we have 16/15 managers as it stands. If I need another one, i'll PM you. I'm also open to making another league based on soxtalk, but I don't think there's more than 5 of us who would do it here :(.

In April the only team we play that is actually trying to make the playoffs is the Angels. The other teams are Tigers, Royals, Rangers, Indians, Mariners, Red Sox. We will need to start off strong against these weak teams.
