Absolutely. NYM/Padres/Dodgers really have the right strategy. Load up on quality SP and focus on depth. I can't say it enough... that is going to be so incredibly important in 2021 and really going forward. More teams are evolving to 6 man rotations, even if they don't come out and say it. That's the immediate future of the game. Just more reason to be upset with how the White Sox have watched pitchers go by all offseason.

Jose Ramirez might be the next Indians star on the move... I'd say the likelihood that a trade happens is around 25%, but if it does, the Atlanta Braves make a TON of sense. Trade Waters + Pache for Ramirez? Indians OF gets a massive upgrade, braves get a star to join Freeman/Acuna/Albies for 3 years. I'd love our Sox to get J-ram, but obviously the fit isn't really there.

I think your grades are spot on and cover most or all of the offseason so far. I would say Targetting World Series more like a D tho. We are not in the same league as the top dogs (Padres/Dodgers/NL Eats Machines/Possible NYY)

Looks like they have Bauer in the bag... I think they will definitely upgrade after Bauer once more somewhere and I think you are spot on about 3b and possibly Bryant.

I think you are on to something here. The White Sox almost give off or pose as a team that is willing to spend big. We saw in and around 2005 some top level budgets, but it would be A LOT easier to take in these arbitrary budget constraints if we knew of them well a head of time. The biggest issue I have and I think many fans have, is that we got constant reminders of how the money will be spent, and how that when the rebuild is ready they were going to go for it, and instead, we have some weird 120 mill constraint these past two years. If I were a Rays fan, I'd know to look at prospects and expect my guys to be traded. I wouldn't be happy, but I wouldn't be ready to flame JR on every forum/social media account I have.

Yeah, because we all know that's going to do something. This is a serious problem in baseball, not just the white sox. This issue isn't going away. Try to mature up about it or let others vent their frustrations here.

Nah, Jack is one of the post posters on this site IMO. Makes good posts backed up with facts and when he is wrong he openly admits it. Maybe a bit on the pessimistic side, but he's on my top list of posters.

Yeah SRF is a decent prospect if I recall. I used him in Fantasy leagues when he came up because he had some hype.

This is the 'ole 'Dad' mentality of love the white sox say no more (my dad has this same attitude and always calls every move the white sox make as amazing). What do you say about the ownership group when they were putting out very low payrolls during the rebuild and continued the talk of 'the money will be spent'? What do you say about the fact that (from what I understand) our payroll this year (2021) is going to be less than it was in 2020? I mean, take your optimistic train of thought and add a Bauer to it. Or instead of Eaton, maybe we got Ozuna or Springer or hell, even Pederson. Say we added to your post Quintana AND Wainwright as depth. The fact is that the White Sox are crying poor at a time where they should be spending BIG (like they promised) and on top of it haven't really done anything this offseason.

Their offseason has been highly questionable and mostly garbage. Liam Hendricks comes in and 'upgrades' Alex Colome. Look, it's an upgrade, not an addition. The money isn't that different and the results hopefully aaren't that different. Lynn for one year over Dunning. Massive upgrade, but again, no addition here, and likely only for one year? Cost is more in millions but Lynn is one of the better salaries out there. Adam Eaton over Mazara? Really? How long until Eaton is injured? Will he even be useful. Garbage. tony La russa debaccle... This offseason blows.

Honestly, Twins don't scare me at all even with Nelson Cruz. Their SP staff low-key blows. Maeda ain't holding up over a full season, Berrios is nice, but he's no #1, and the rest is hot garbage. Their RP core got weaker with losing May. Their offense is only a shell of what it was compared to how it entered the 2020 season. People thought their offense would be insane, and it turned out to be mediocre at best. Their older guys (donaldson/cruz) will be older, they lost Eddie Rosario. Doesn't scare me at all.
