Trade Whispers - Starting Pitchers
Yup, White Sox M.O.

Hector wrong. Again. - Cruz back with Min
Nothing in particular, just general prospect bust rates. For Vaughn to succeed as a 1b/DH type he will need to be a monster. That's asking a lot.

Trade Whispers - Starting Pitchers
? Then we shouldn't trade for him. I'd be PISSED if we traded Madrigal for Gonzales. Burnes has the ceiling you want... Gonzales is going to regress.

Happy to have Vaughn and I would love to see his success, but IMO his best value to the team is being traded for SP now before the potential bust.

Hector wrong. Again. - Cruz back with Min
So I'm catching up with the thread... ...Seems like Hector is a complete BOZO. Promised that White Sox fans would be happy with good news this week, posts another Tweet leading us on and a few hours later we hear the Twins upping their offer. This guy sucks.

Trade Whispers - Starting Pitchers
This is stupid. Why do we need to trade Madrigal to get a good starter? Heuer+Kelley+++ should nab a pretty good one on it's own. There's absoulely no way that Gonzales is the same price as burnes and would cost that.

I would 100%. I am totally behind trading Vaughn now. His value is as high as its going to get IMO. We have Eloy at DH and Abreu at 1b for 2 years. The way Abreu is going he will be competent at 1b for the next 4 years, maybe more. If not Abreu, it won't be hard to pick up a 1b anyway.

It's not that I 'wish' it so... it's what it is. I'd much rather have Eloy play LF and have faith in it. Defensively, he's awful. I don't even really care about that. I care about keeping him healthy. I find it very surprising that so many are willing (and seemingly happy) to trot Eloy out in LF the way he injures himself out there.

Do you pro cruz guys realize eloy is going to break his body playing left field?? Eloy is our dh. Dont need two of them

Cruz makes absolutely NO sense. If he comes here itd be a complete waste of resources. We have a dh, we desperately need quality sp

MLB 2020-21 off season catch all
MLB Offseason could definitely use some changes, but I think all/most of these guys will be signing within the next 2-3 weeks.

Dodgers sign Bauer (3/102, opt-outs, 40-45-17)
Pretty much what I thought when I ranked the possibilities 1 Blue Jays 2 Angels 3 Mets Smart GM like Cohen goes after Quality and makes SP depth a strength. I'm kinda leaning towards the mets unfortunately getting him.

Dodgers sign Bauer (3/102, opt-outs, 40-45-17)
It's Time for SoxTalk to turn into BauerTalk for the next month+. All we need is one substantial rumor that the White Sox might have the tiniest bit of interest. Let's make it happen.

the old Corbin Burnes thread, we have a new Burnes thread
So the one positive this topic brought up to me is that we should look to trade Vaughn.

White Sox need SP. Three choices: 1) Give up prospect talent 2) sign Bauer and win world series 3) Sign garbage free agents and burn the money I know which one I would do!

If sox are serious about winning they need to stop worrying over a few million dollars on shitty players. Just sign Bauer and a few back up pieces and put a bow on it.

Im in camp trade vaughn asap

Dodgers sign Bauer (3/102, opt-outs, 40-45-17)
It's interesting to note that crowdsource projections have Bauer signing a 3 year deal worth 87 million for 29.0 million per year. I think it's fair to assume a little more than that, so something like 4/120 mil for 30 mill a year? That's not too crazy and maybe something the White Sox will do.

yes, https://www.reddit.com/user/itbayly/comments/ " Patients young one. Both those tweets were tweeted significantly after my original post." then links to al cheesy and other foodie account tweets regarding Burnes. One of the tweets since has been deleted this was within 2 hours ago

the old Corbin Burnes thread, we have a new Burnes thread
so we are at 24 pages 24 hours after a random dude on reddit confidently claimed burnes to chicago and we have nothing substantial to burn the fires other than the fact that the White Sox are watching SPs go off the board and foodies making cryptic tweets to sound like they were on top of things too im a bit bummed so far.

Michael Brantley to the ASTROS 2 years 32 mill per Nightengale
Yup. Big difference between free agents like Harper/Machado (who were absolutely worth a massive overpay) and a 31 year old Springer. Is Springer at 25 million for 6 years really that much better than Eaton for 7 mil/1 year? I strongly prefer Eaton over Springer in this situation... and I hated the Eaton signing.

You don't really have a choice with Eloy. He's unbelievably bad as a defender and if we keep trotting him out there in LF he's going to suffer injuries. Eloy is way too valuable as a hitter to keep this carousel of injuries going on.

Michael Brantley to the ASTROS 2 years 32 mill per Nightengale
No idea how you can think that this is not a bad contract. Springer is 31 years old. This contract puts him on the Jays until he is 37 (!!!!). Springer has had some superstar years, but at 31 years old his days of CF are coming to an end quickly. He's been somewhat injury prone as well. Looking at the contract, IDK the exact details but if we take it as 25 million AAV... that puts him as the third most expensive outfielder in the game according to : https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/rankings/salary/outfield/ for 2021... ...Right next to Jason Heyward, Justin Upton, Will Myers, McCutchen, Pollock, Fowler, Cain... you get the idea... other bad contracts. This is an obvious bad contract. But it is also obvious that the Blue Jays HAVE to sign players at terrible contracts to bring them to Toronto... so I get it and give them respect. But this is going to be BAD and fast.

the old Corbin Burnes thread, we have a new Burnes thread
Ok uhh, does anyone know if there's been anything significant on the Corbin Burnes trade rumor front since the reddit post and twitter comments from last night? I get that JR is probably sleeping (seems like these White Sox moves strike at night), but I want the SMOKE!

Eloy is our DH for the future. Abreu has at least another 2 years. Very high chance Abreu has another 4 years. I have 100% no problem giving up Vaughn right now for a stud SP before Vaughn comes up and has the possibility of becoming Nate Lowe. If we can't develop another 1b in 3-5 years or sign one or trade for one if need be, then IDK... but I am not worried at all about losing Vaughn. However, I am very very much worried about our SP ability this upcoming year (and in the future).
