  1. I kind of agree. I don't think the Brewers are looking for Madrigal though (They have Hiura as long term 2b). I think there's a way to acquire Burnes with a package that would make White Sox Fans happy, but hell if I know. I still have no idea why the Brewers would pursue this tho... the rumors make no sense to me.. but if their legit, I'm down!
  2. Projections for any SP this year is near impossible, but I understand the trepidation with a guy like Burnes. The industry has him projected for 155 IP. I think that's about right. https://www.rotochamp.com/baseball/Player.aspx?MLBAMID=669203 I mean, this guy is young, battled through some injuries and playing time issues and turned a corner last year. Got to assume he's ready to take off.
  3. Kris Bryant is being paid 19.5 million dollars this year. That's going to destroy any trade value he has/had. He's coming off some lackluster seasons, no one should pay 19.5 million for him. I'd love for the White Sox to take him off the Cubs hands for a year (for nothing).
  4. There's no way the Padres are trading their SP's. They acquired the depth for a reason, to emulate the Dodgers way of success. They know that this year is going to be a massive grind, like no other, especially on SP's. White Sox would be smart to load up on depth at SP'ing.
  5. In 2018 Burnes was a rookie, in 2019 if I recall he was fighting for time in the SP rotation with Woodruff and lost. In either '18 or '19 he was fighting woodruff for SP time and lost initially. Got to remember that the Brewers were a big time playoff team in 18 and 19 and had a decentish rotation at the time. A rookie coming up like Burnes had to fight off a lot of competition. Of course the IP is a big concern with Burnes, but talent and youth is on his side. I'd be incredibly ecstatic if we were able to get him. Let's fleece the Brewers, let's get him without giving up Kopech/Vaughn/Madrigal :).
  6. You say dream scenario and then you say realistic... ... But my answer would be Trevor Bauer or one of the Brewers Woodruff/Burnes... assuming Castillo is off the market (Reds GM stated that) and assuming the Brewers are open to trading their SP.
  7. White Sox need another starter Trevor bauer would be A+, amazing, super fantastic But realizing that was a long shot, the few SPs I was looking at where: Musgrove, Kluber as most obtainable, now both are gone. Woodruff/Castillo as hardest/impossible to get, and now Castillo is off the market as far as we know and Woodruff was never really on it. Burnes would have been borderline acceptable due to high price and high risk. As of now it's looking more and more like we are getting garbage can Quintana or broken Garret Richards. Bogus.
  8. Wow, Padres strike again and burn the hearts of White Sox fans. :(. Every move they make strikes a weird jealous nerve in me. Great for them, and it does seem like Musgrove netted quite a bit of a return here. I'm not mad that the White Sox didn't match it/go for it with the return on Musgrove so far, but yeh it sucks for us.
  9. Bauer is a workhorse and a hell of a teammate. Can't wait to be rooting for him on Opening day as he takes the mound for our Sox.
  10. Without bauer this team isn’t making it to the pkayoffs, starting pitching will be in shambles
  11. Wow passan going in on hector guess this thread is meaningless
  12. Biggernews on luis to nyy Thatvwoukd suck big time
  13. Would trade vaughn for elite sp now or at deadline or vaughn replaces abreu or injuries figure it out
  14. Ozuna dh and then trade vaughn ozuna is a monster hitter going to be great for years cruz has to face time at some point... a gamble
  15. The Free Agent starters suck and would make this team worse Musgrove is nice, but it 100% depends on price, absolutely no reason to give up a valuable piece for him. Other trade targets: Castillo/Gray/Burnes all would cost a fortune, but with the right deal, definitely worth doing -- problem is I highly doubt a deal works. Just sign Bauer. Immediately completes this team for the next 3 years. Bauer + Giolito as 1-2 would go up against any team in the playoffs. Lynn+Keuchel are extremely good 3/4 options. And best of all, we lose nothing except $$$$. This team has been pocketing money most of the last 5+ years due to the rebuild. Time to spend. Every fan should be pressuring Jerry to spend it for what we've endured.
  16. Gleyber Torres + ____ for Castillo makes a lot more sense. Reds need a SS. Torres + Frazier + One of the SP Prospects like Clarke
  17. Andujar - guy can't play defense, and while he has shown capable offensive production, he is entirely replaceable. Was going to be traded for practically nothing last year. He's worthless. Frazier - If I recall, he also can't play defense well. Gurantee Reds get different pieces
  18. 1. 7 inning double headers isn't a bad idea with Covid. Even without it, I'd consider it OK. 2. Guy on 2nd in extra innings is terrible. However, im more open to it now than I was one year ago. 3. They have to shorten the game. Best way to do this is the pitch clock 30 seconds. 4. Universal DH is a must
  19. Frazier is only decent and Andujar sucks, that isn't a good package
  20. Who says they aren't going to get a top starter?
  21. We won’t those don’t really exist anymore sans a rare unicorn like steve cohen
  22. I'd give up the farm for Castillo for sure.
