QUOTE(IgnatiusReillyTheThird @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 06:49 PM) Pierzynski seems to be fairly well liked by the fans here - no incidents yet? He gave borchard a 100 dollars for hitting a home run off of tomko. He is really like thus far it seems. In my opinion all of the things that happened in the past were sorta blown out of proportion. I really like how he pisses people off and can get into the opposing players heads. He ahs also been very good handling are pitchers this year.

QUOTE(TheDybber @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 04:39 PM) I'm sorry, did I see the record right? Is that 6-3? We are only 9 games into the season people. We haven't even hit double digits yet and we are already switching batting order? Let the players get comfortable. If this is still going on by the end of May (first quarter of the season) THEN you can start worrying. We are in first. This thread was like a damn...

QUOTE(JimH @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 04:06 PM) By the way I say the odds are very good they re-sign Konerko anyway. The decision is made on Crede according to how he does this year. I doubt Josh Fields is ready until 2007 so they may have to bring in a stop gap if Crede doesn't get it done. You think we are gonna give konerko ten million? You think konerko deserves ten million? Because he will get very close to that if he is even close to last year.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 03:55 PM) The key is making up what you lost in power in different areas. Grab a few more guys with higher OBP's, improve defensively, and improve your pitching staff (grab a stud reliever). And, back to what I said about Aubrey Huff -- put me on the "If Crede doesn't pick it up by Mid-June, make a trade for Aubrey Huff" bandwagon. Err -- did I just hear a couple days ago that Huff is hurt? Huff is easily one of my favorite players in the league. Anyway all that i know is he had a flu a month or so ago.

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 03:43 PM) How the hell does Gload=Grace? Look at their stats. Sure, grace did it for a much longer time but you can see gload can become a mark grace type player. Both have below average power for a first baseman. You have to remember grace never hit 20 in a season. Grace is a .300 hitter and gload definitely has the potential for that. He is a .301 hitter in the majors and grace was a .303 hitter. Both are lefties with really good gloves. I can see gload being a .300/ 15-20/ .360/ .450 type player which would be very similar to grace. The lowest i see gload hitting is .270-275 in all honesty.

QUOTE(quickman @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 03:42 PM) Wow we will really be turning into a punch and judy team. I was not a fan of konerko's I personally feel he singlehandedly costs us the 2003 season, but that aside we need his pop, we still need to hit HR's. Now that lee is gone, Everett is in his last year, thomas is in his last year, and dye is worth 25 homers healthy we cannot afford to lose the HR's that Konerko brings. Not saying we need to go back to the way we were but we do need to hit homers. Just curious, who are you a fan of on the team?

Gload is basically a clone to mark grace in my opinion so how does that make gload a back up when grace started for all those years? Btw, free agents all around blow next year.

QUOTE(quickman @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 02:51 PM) Well this is knoerko's last year, are you saying Gload should play first on a regular basis? Good chance.
