  1. QUOTE(rangercal @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 01:41 AM) Since we have a tiger section already, does this mean we are skipping a twins section? (which is our next series) Twins fans will not be coming here apparently. Either will yankee or red sox fans because no one wants them to start s*** up. Because we all no how cocky they can be even when they are in last place ( yankees).
  2. QUOTE(traydragen @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 12:33 AM) How's that?? I think it could possibly play a psychological role with the players, but in order for this to happen they must first believe that a "jinx" in real and actually occurs. In no possible way can somebody convince me that posting something on a message board can interfere with the outcome of a baseball game....Seriously people grow up. You are telling me you do not have a lucky hat, lucky pen, lucky condom.. whatever the hell it is? That is basically the same thing as a ''jinx'' in my opinion.
  3. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 12:47 AM) Yeah, and he led the league in steals, I think... I'd say that's about right for him. He can steal, but he's never been shut-down. He was overrated with the lakers, in my opinion... He is basically larry huges when it comes to defense. If they really really want to they can shut people down but that is rare. Jones also gambles alot likes huges does.
  4. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 12:32 AM) f***in' chicks man. f***in' chicks You wish, but sadly no. :headshake
  5. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 12:23 AM) I think that even with a healthy Jefferson, the Nets are an average team with a weak 4/5 rotation and bad overall depth. They have no business winning jack s*** in the playoffs. That's almost like the Juan Gonzalez/Ivan Rodriguez/Rafael Palmeiro/Jose Canseco/Dean Palmer argument. All that glitters ain't gold. The nets guards are gonna be a big time miss match. Jones is no where near the defender he use to be. Throughout his career he has been pretty underated defensively in my opinion. I agree they will get raped by shaq but if they get hot for this series the heat are gonna have some problems. I know a lot of heat fans thought it was gonna be a walk in the park until they heard jefferson may be coming back. Now some of them are getting scared because they know what that trio could do by themselves, you put them all on one team? Dayum. I agree with whoever said jefferson may be rusty but a rusty jefferson is better than anything else they have. They may not click well in the playoffs but next year if they get a big man along side nenad ( he is becoming pretty good with his playing time) they will definitely be a threat. That is if of course jefferson resigns.
  6. QUOTE(Reddy @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 10:27 PM) like how many quality starts a team has or tough losses or cheap wins etc etc etc Sox have 8 which lead all of baseball i believe. Might be someone tied with them. QUOTE(BridgeportHeather @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 10:37 PM) JUGGERNAUT seems to be the king of statistics here at Soxtalk. If you say so. QUOTE(Wedge @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 11:59 PM) I do know off the top of my head that a quality start as definied by MLB is considered 6 IP with 3 ER or less. As it works out, 50% of starts by pitchers are quality starts and a team that gets a quality start from a pitcher tends to win 66% of the time that occurs. I still will never understand why a 4.50 era is considered ''quality''.
  7. He is still in excellent shape... this was from an exhibition game very recentlly. His arms are still huge. Compared to the other guy he looks like a complete monster. No doubt it my mind he could but 10-15 minutes a game. Too bad it's not gonna happen though.
  8. QUOTE(BridgeportHeather @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 11:07 PM) My guessing his function on this team will be much like Rusty LaRue and Keith Booth on the 1997-1998 Bulls team? Scorer off the bench and another body to pick up fouls. We should have given rodman a look... and i am cereal.

  10. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 09:18 PM) Looks like the trade did pay off for NJ. Vince is averaging over 31 ppg in April and has the nets in the 8th spot, 1 behind Philly. Also Jefferson is due back this week. I don't want to see the Nets in the 1st round against the Heat, no thanks. Man the heat might get royally screwed when jefferson comes back. They sure as hell won't be able to take the nets very lightly... because if they do they will be going home sooner than everyone would have though.
  11. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 06:43 PM) Easier than the other ones given in this thread IMO. What's bbb? The one you asked showtime if he is a moderator there.
  12. Garbage base stealers usually do not steal at an 80% clip or higher.
  13. Am i the only one that wanted willie to tag on the fly ball to the warning track?
  14. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 03:51 PM) I don't understand how accidentally pressing the gas pedal would make the car go instantly fast enough to run over the mom and kill her. It should have left some bruises maybe even a broken bone or two. But i mean what the f*** did she stomp on the gas pedal?
  15. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 03:17 PM) Thanks! That board is much easier to follow. I'll sign up as soon as I have something worthwhile to say. Easier to follow?
  16. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 12:55 PM) Go to RealGM.com and it let's you talk about every team. The Bulls board is about the 3rd biggest and it's gotten some dap. Lots of true insiders there too. Bulls4Ever is affiliated with RealGM, but not quite as good IMHO. Just make sure when you sign up that you introduce yourself and don't make dumb posts like Frank Williams for Shaq. It also has a trade checker and everything. You'd love it. I know I do. You can't go wrong with either bbb or realgm... i like how bbb is set up much more ever since the over haul. The boards at realgm look kinda funny to me. Anyway, who are you over at realgm?
  17. Single for iguchi, first and second one down for everett.
  18. QUOTE(Sparks4Ever @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 12:22 PM) http://www.motownsports.com is another nice Tigers board with more traffic than tigerstalk. I have been there before... doesn't seem like the tigers are big fans of the twins.
  19. QUOTE(rangercal @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 10:38 AM) I just heard that was the fastest mlb game in 21 years. Did you hear who the pitchers were for that game?
  20. QUOTE(daa84 @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 11:32 AM) ron villone and joey eichen? 1.) if we get bullpen guys they should be better than that, and 2.) if we make a trade it better be for a bat. I see no reason why the white sox can't make a bid at aubrey huff. everyone knows hes gonna be on the market, the only problem is his price will be high because other teams, notably the cubs, are also interested. huff would be the perfect fit for this team, a lefthanded power bat, who can play multiple positions, including the hot corner over crede What are we gonna do then They would have no interest in dye or everett because of the mony are making/ will be making. They have no interest in our outfield period in my opinion. The only way for us to get him would be to send some relief pitching/crede/ willie/ or they could go the minor league route. I would love to have him at either one of the corner infield positions i will tell you that ( even though he blows at third).
  21. Is that a good amount for the amount of people here? Is that more or less than other board have proportionately?
  22. QUOTE(backman @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 01:14 AM) NUGGETS! As long as Phonix gets knocked out by those Memphis G's, the Nuggets have what it takes to take the west crown! I am gonna say no on this one.
  23. Um, how about we compare crede's average to our other starters?
