  1. QUOTE(quickman @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 02:51 PM) Well this is knoerko's last year, are you saying Gload should play first on a regular basis? Good chance. Milalr and durazo are the only free agent first baseman i would have interest in. Rafael Palmeiro Frank Thomas (Player + Team option) J.T. Snow Julio Franco Tim Salmon Doug Mientkiewicz (Vesting Option) (arb.) Kevin Millar Paul Konerko Dimitri Young (Team Option) Scott Hatteberg (Team Option) Eduardo Perez (arb.) Wil Cordero Robert Fick Greg Colbrunn Mark Sweeney Tino Martinez (Team Option) Ruben Sierra David McCarty Tony Clark Travis Lee Erubiel Durazo Brian Buchanan
  2. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 02:50 PM) He has been a minor league FA at least a few times. If he was that good someone else would have jumped on him who could play him at the major league level. .304 minor league hitter seems pretty good to me. Lots of players either never get the chance or are stuck behind players. Just because he was passesd up by other teams does not mean he is not a good major league player. He will continue to do so even if it is in limited at-bats.
  3. QUOTE(quickman @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 02:44 PM) Fair enough, he bounced around for a reason. Because he was behind todd helton, grace and thomas/konerko.
  4. As it stands he will not be getting the max. Shouldn't have got the max before this happened anyway. The nba is pretty ridiculous when it comes to handing out money. Once all of his test results come back we should know how it is gonna stand when it comes to money. I will be stunned if he gets the max even after the results come back. Because you know that it will be in the back of everyone's mind that it can come back. At this point he keeps getting the irregular heart beat but they have found nothing at all. That in my opinion anyway cannot be a good thing considering all the specialists he has been to. Wouldn't one of them find something small even? http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/20...urry/index.html

  6. QUOTE(quickman @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 01:56 PM) Last year he played the outfield and sucked, also I found him very unclutch. Don't like him, doesn't really matter why, just like others don't like timo. Gload is not as good as everyone thinks. Well his numbers entirely prove you wrong. Maybe you were watching a different gload than me? I don't know. True, his outfield defense was not good but how often is he gonna be there? He will either be a dh or first baseman 90% of the time. He also is our best defensive first baseman on the team.
  7. QUOTE(T R U @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 01:41 PM) I hate Buehrle, Konerko, and Shingo... So you like the koch's and garland's of the world? Nice.
  8. QUOTE(quickman @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 12:13 PM) for the record I hate Harris, Gload, and crede. I will always hate them, even if they go 4-4 . I am also shaky on politte. I remain consistant. Cotts is not good, but I don't hate him Yet.... What has gload ever done that you do not him? Hitting over .300 last year with excellent defense at first apparently does not make you likeable.
  9. Pineiro should get slapped around a bit considering he has had no starts in quite a while.
  10. I feel i should respond to this... and i did.
  11. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 01:20 AM) I don't think so. You should always go with the hot hand, not just go with guys who need work. You could also mix it up...not have the two worst pitchers you have go in the same game. Maybe have Politte work on the same nights as Viz, and Cotts on the same night as Hermanson...or something similar to that. Also, when you have bigger leads in games...even 2 runs, where 1 run does not kill you...you should also go to Cotts and Politte for about an inning. The key to a bullpen is to have as many guys succeed in the situations you present to them as possible. That is why you do not have your closer come in when you are up by 5, and you don't have your worst reliever enter a 1 run game, and in some cases, a 2 run game...that really depends on the situation. That is also why I am really not for letting you closer close a game when you are up by 3 just because it is a save situation. The thing is when they give up runs they usually don't give up one at a time. It always seems to be two or three at once. Seems like we cannot afford to have either of them in unless we are losing by a lot or winning by alot. I still don't think our bullpen is as good as most do. When you have both politt and cotts in there how can it be considered one of the best? I have heard that around here alot in the off season. We still need to upgrade now or at the dead line if we are serious in my opinion. Three runs should also not be considered a save situation... just seems a little ridiculous to me... but i have said that before.
  12. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 01:10 AM) Is this the best way to manage the bullpen? Save the good guys for some games and possibly throw away some with the two worst pitchers being the first guys out. That is retarded.
  13. QUOTE(knightni @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 12:50 AM) You know what sucks for me...? I remember watching the videos for these songs when they came out on MTV. Videos were so bad then. Half the time they would just be sitting in a white room or on a stage playing their song. Wtf is with that? I mean how cheesy does it get. I would rather not waste the money on that garbage if i were them.
  14. QUOTE(valponick @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 12:33 AM) Hey Qwerty do you play poker at Gaming Club? Nope, there may just be a couple more qwerty's running around the internet... but i am of course everyone's favorite.
  15. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 12:14 AM) Please tell me you are not serious Second thread about him and mentioned him about fifty other times... i think he is cereal.
  16. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 11:58 PM) Don't forget the Mexican Leauge. Gload? Or did you mean borchard the whole time?
  17. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 11:31 PM) I'd take a Cruddy vs. Uribe avg. bet. I thought you like uribe a lot? Do you think uribe will go back to how he was before last year or what?
  18. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 10:47 PM) Jesus christ, can't we do better than Gload for a DH? Wtf is wrong with gload now? So he had a s***ty swing tonight but he still managed to get a hit. He is our best guy off the bench for us and would definitely be solid for us given playing time every day.
  19. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 11:09 PM) As qwerty once said, lol @ this title. You could at least get what i said right... :banghead
  20. This thread has the potential to become very big.
