  1. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 1, 2005 -> 09:16 AM) A crowd over 30,000 against Detroit was pretty good I thought even though it was on a Saturday Night. Saturday nights are always packed.
  2. So whatever happened with the holy water that Dusty Baker once talked about with the media?
  3. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 03:43 PM) Question: If we need to win to get mass coverage, how bad do either of those teams need to become for people to stop talking about them? Or better yet, how mediocre? Obviously a BAD team will also get mass discussion going. We may very well have a 19-0 record and we would get no recognition. :headshake
  4. Clemens has been lights out. He currently has an ERA under 1!

    Films

I have to agree with Kip. Road to Perdition over-rated? I don’t think so... It is one of Tom Hank’s most underrated films, but is also one of his best. With a cast of Hanks, Newman, and Jude Law, you can’t go wrong with this film.
  6. Always nice to see the Twins lose.
  7. That girl must have been real crazy in order for three officers to arrest her.
  8. 1.) The Interpreter $22,809,000 2.) The Amityville Horror (2005) $14, 200,000 3.) Sahara $9,000,000 4.) A Lot Like Love $7,743,000 5.) Kung Fu Hustle $7,297,000 Nicole Kidman headlined her first number one opening ever with the political thriller The Interpreter which easily grossed more than the weekend's other three new releases combined. A trio of new comedies - the date flick A Lot Like Love, the martial arts gangster pic Kung Fu Hustle, and the kidnapping film King's Ransom - attracted more modest business and were sprinkled across the top ten chart. Most holdovers saw small to moderate declines during the final weekend before the big-budget summer extravaganzas start invading the multiplexes.
  9. Happy Birthday Capn12!!! Hope you have/had a good one.
  10. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 04:57 PM) Call me crazy, but is this team, this $200 million team, in danger of not being .500, or at the very least, not making the playoffs? The offense will undoubtedly get better, but if you are giving up 7 or 8 runs a game, it will be hard for any offense to win a lot. Carl Pavano is being judged by the Yankees as a good #2 or #3 pitcher because of his numbers from last season. But last season is about the only year where he did well. IMO, Pavano will get lit up in the Bronx. The only positive the Yankees may have is Randy Johnson. If the 41-year-old can stay healthy than he might be a 20 game winner. As of right now the Red Sox and the Orioles have a much better chance of heading to the playoffs.
  11. I know I’m late, but I still want to thank you for this awesome site. Best place to talk White Sox baseball. Here’s wishing you have many more birthday’s to come...
  12. The Yankees are in trouble with their starting rotation. Mussina does not look as sharp; Brown does not have it anymore and now Wright? I smell nothing but bad things for the Yanks.
  13. Tim Hudson is looking even better for the Braves. He has a 1-0 record with a 0.82 ERA. And how about Roger Clemens? He has not allowed a run in three straight games! That is sick.

    Cubs

The sad thing is that Greg Maddux was looking for win #1 of the season.
  15. I don’t like to smile when someone gets hurt... even if he’s from the Cubs. Nomar is a great shortstop that can hit for average. Its just too bad that he wasn’t doing well offensively before getting injured.
  16. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 05:15 PM) I don't see how all of this adds up to an "awful" experience. Neither do I. You can always tell that person to stop smoking and they will probably stop. This has happened to me as well, but I have nicely asked them to put their cigarette out and they do. BTW, isn’t The Cell smoke free? Last time I went you weren’t supposed to smoke inside. If you see someone doing so than immediately tell one of the guards that work there. I’m sure they’ll do something about it.
  17. I wish I could have been able to see the game, but unfortunately I was at school. Though my math teacher did keep me updated on the score while he was online. Great performance by Buehrle. He is looking sharper and sharper. Both him and Garland are looking like 20 game winners.
  18. Took me a little while to figure yours out, Jester.
  19. Anyone else notice that DJ is trying to be a little more like Hawk? I usually hear him start a sentence off by saying “I don’t care who you are or where you come from...” That is Hawk material right there.
  20. We’ve played three exhibition games and our pitching has shut down the opposing lineup. We are averaging about 7 runs a game! Our season opener is on April 30.
  21. QUOTE(Wedge @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 05:49 PM) We'd end up being the Yankee pitching rejects...
