  1. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Sep 29, 2011 -> 02:22 PM) Ah, so he must have been lying then, right? http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20...sp&c_id=cws You should not be so defensive.
  2. FWIW, Terry Boers just said his source told him there is only one name on the list: Alomar.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 29, 2011 -> 02:17 PM) Yep. That was a quote from an early presser in that season when Kenny got asked about Q. I don't remember when Kenny said it, but I'm going to assume it was when Quentin was tearing it up.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 29, 2011 -> 01:57 PM) God I hate having to do this. I really do. Marty's right. I know how difficult this must have been and truly appreciate the effort on your part.
  5. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 29, 2011 -> 01:55 PM) So Williams has a world title and a higher winning percentage. Guillen has a world title and a lower winning percentage. Do.Not.Follow. Williams has no World Series titles or even post-season appearances with managers other than Guillen.
  6. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 29, 2011 -> 01:56 PM) Guillen World Series Titles with Williams: 1 Guillen World Series titles with out Williams: 0 Just sayin' Marty Right. No defense of Guillen.
  7. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 29, 2011 -> 01:50 PM) I better watch out. I guess it doesn't show us that Ozzie actually lowered KW's winning percentage. Williams World Series Titles with Guillen: 1 Williams World Series titles with out Guillen: 0 Just sayin' Milkman.
  8. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Sep 29, 2011 -> 01:48 PM) The f***? Is Ozzie going to come kill him or something? Ahahahaha. Also, yeah, Swisher was not acquired as a CF. Opening Day CF was Alexei. Ok, then Williams got Quentin to be a reserve OF'er. One or the other.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 29, 2011 -> 01:41 PM) Exactly. In Cuba that was supposed to be his best position. Instead he stuck Swisher out there. Where were you going to play Swisher with Quentin in left and Dye in right?
  10. Milkman you are making a mistake by using win percentage to defend Williams over Guillen. A very big one.
  11. Kenny traded for Swisher to play CF. Another mistake in talent evaluation on his part.
  12. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 29, 2011 -> 01:09 PM) I'll take the heat off of Kenny for the Dunn move and to a lesser extent the Peavy move. The Rios one was incredibly risky and he knew it. The worst moves were the Rios/Hudson moves. The Swisher trades were awful too. Reminded of the terrible Linebrink signing last night watching the Braves game last night.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 29, 2011 -> 01:04 PM) Right. Just like you can't handle anything even remotely anti-Ozzie. He was 10% of the problem here, right? No. I am big anti-Ozzie. Proof here on this message board.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 29, 2011 -> 01:00 PM) If he could actually concentrate on the job stuff, and not just being Ozzie's shill, it would be different. But like his mentor, he has no interest in actually being a columnist, because being a gossip columnist keeps everyone riveted to him. You have no interest in hearing any anti-Kenny stuff. He is doing his job.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 29, 2011 -> 12:53 PM) The dysfunction is going to fix itself now the the root cause of it is gone. It would be different if he were actually contributing something, but worrying about Kenny's dating life? That is the type of crap you want to hear more of? Blah, its all yours. No anti-Kenny stuff. He has done his job.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 29, 2011 -> 10:55 AM) I'm just hoping this doesn't mean 3 weeks of anti-Kenny crap instead. Yes. Let's not hear anything negative about the GM of perhaps the most dysfunctional outfit in MLB.
  17. QUOTE (Papa Tru @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 09:21 PM) How is that even possible? They are all KW's players.. Ozzie didnt do anything to make Adam Dunn flop, Jake Peavy fall apart, and Rios to not give a s***.. there was nothing that could be done about that.. Yes, who saw it coming.. I know.. However, they were still moves that didnt work out at all.. I dont think I need to bring up Dan Hudson.. KW should have been relieved of his Gm duties just as much as Ozzie should have been relieved of his manager duties.. I dont see what changes with this team now.. 100% true. (Careful dissenting opinions aren't welcome here.)
  18. Per MLB Trade Rumors: Sounds like Tito has a lot in common with Guillen.
  19. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 07:34 PM) Tito baby Francona isn't managing the White Sox.
  20. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 07:36 PM) And Manny. That only cost Uncle Jerry $4 million. Indeed. Can't forget the HoF numbers of Robbie Alomar either.
  21. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 07:22 PM) Yeah, Adam Dunn and his career .243/.374/.503/.876 line is doing a terrible job at identifying a good offensive player. You are so full of s***. Griffey too.
  22. QUOTE (Tex @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 07:25 PM) Yeah, bringing in guys like Thome and Dunn, based on hall of fame numbers, proves that. Griffey too.
  23. QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 06:42 PM) You can't put a number on it...but if he does his job the right way, you'll definitely see improvements in select hitters. The thing is that the White Sox bring in a bunch of guys who have had success in the past and they just fall flat on their face here. The one constant during that time is...Greg Walker...and the rest of the coaching staff as well. It has something to do with it. We don't know how much, but it was definitely time for Walker to go, whether it's his fault or not. The other constant is Kenny Williams. This organization doesn't do a good job in identifying good offensive players.
  24. Martinez. Alomar least appealing candidate with a legitimate chance.
  25. How many runs does everyone expect the new hitting coach to be worth?
