  1. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 05:00 PM) Maybe Herm can quickly rub it out of Brian. Thanks for that brain painting.
  2. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 05:01 PM) I don't know how we won this series, but we did. Grindy.

    QUOTE (Texsox @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 04:45 PM) What makes me think this is more serious is the death rate and that the current vaccinations seem to not be effective against it. Last year's flu shot didn't protect many people from the strains that were going around. I know 3 people who got the flu shot AND the flu.
  4. Good luck MMac. Hope you can catch on with another team.
  5. I'd like to know who the 4% of dumbasses are that said KGJ won't be a first ballot HOFer. Oh and... Dos out-o's.
  6. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 04:49 PM) Whatever. His average is lower than BA's, he sucks. But what is his average after an 0-2 count?
  7. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 04:35 PM) the best part about criticizing one at bat by BA is that it's met with two pages worth of statistical rebuttal. The guy's a f***ing legend. Sasquatch. Except that Sasquatch is real.
  8. Hey Jerry...you aren't Rickey Henderson, soooo, could you use two hands and stop slapping your leg with your glove when you catch a routine fly?
  9. QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 04:30 PM) Is he wearing a onezee? No, but I bet you are.
  10. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 04:25 PM) OK, one last time, for those of us at work... WHAT HAPPENED TO BRIAN ANDERSON??? Is he hurt? He took a HUGE hack and then grimaced and put his hand on his right hip. Hopefully just tweaked something.
  11. QUOTE (Wanne @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 04:25 PM) Anderson swung so hard at one and fouled it probably ripped his colon in half. Is it just me or does it always appear BA swings too heavy a bat? Bartolo?
  12. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 04:22 PM) He came in with an 0-2 count...thats tough for anyone Sorry...didn't see that. Thought it was 0-1.
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 04:16 PM) By the way, someone may have asked this earlier but wasn't there talk yesterday of Getz being ready to go today? Broken finger...colder weather...going to Texas...I'd sit him one more day, too.
  14. See...hitting it in the air WORKS sometimes...thanks Greg Walker! /green
  15. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 03:53 PM) I said this over the weekend and hope I am not right but the WHite Sox seem to be unable to adjust during games and are not hitting bullpen pitching. Again I have no proof just an observation for the last two years. Have you been reading Soxtalk again?
  16. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 28, 2009 -> 06:29 PM) People are running on issues, but consensus in our republic requires some organization People are running on issues mandated by their parties...most of the time.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 28, 2009 -> 11:49 PM) Our depth at nearly every position is pathetic this season. That's what happens when you don't spend any money during the offseason. It's funny that the Sox really thought Viciedo would contribute at the MLB level this season. While I agree with you on one count, think of it this way...as someone said, the AAA team is not so good, which is usually cast off MLBers and AAAAers. AA, which is usually the future of the franchise is stocked. But, most of those players, at least for the Sox, need some seasoning and I don't think will be called up, except for September. So, we are stuck with the cast-offs, most of which we got through a trade or free agent signing. With the economy in the tank and MLB feeling the effects, probably more so in 2010, the White Sox made a choice and that choice was (for the most part), stick with the core starters, let the dead weight go and let the system replace them. Then, stock for the future. Does it suck? Sure it does. The Sox may not win this year, but that isn't going to be because of Owens, Lilli, Betemit or Miller. I guess my point is (after much rambling), if the biggest problem is the bench, then the Sox aren't that bad.
  18. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 28, 2009 -> 04:37 PM) We'll be bringing our new daughter to her first game this year - she'll be 8 months old at that time, give or take. We're going to buy scout seats for that game, so that we have somewhere quiet and inside to take her if she loses it. I suspect we won't make it through the whole game, but, we'll see. My friend and I took his son to his first game last summer. He was 3 and a half...and he lost it in the third inning...he was hungry, but didn't want to admit it. But once he had a piece of pizza and we walked around a bit, he was better. My son is a year and I'm not sure if I should try to take him to his first game or not.
