  1. MacBook /thread and discussion
  2. QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 04:22 PM) how stupid, ah well /thread!
  3. QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 04:24 PM) Go sox, shud be able to hit dickey... That's what she said... Excellent line-up (sans Wise)
  4. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 02:43 PM) I said for the sake of simplicity that I wouldnt get into the back of the ticket. First of all, I would argue that t-shirts being thrown into the stands are not "incidental to the Game". T-Shirt throwing is not part of the baseball game. If you went to the Sox game and the a piece of concrete fell from the upper deck and paralyzed you, the Sox may be liable if they were negligent. All I am saying is this case is not as clear cut as people are making it out to be. Actually, wouldn't the Illinois Sports Facilities Authority, be negligent? The Sox just rent there. I don't know, I'm just asking. Also, the t-shirt throwing is not a part of the game, but it is part of the experience, which might be argued as the Sox logo is on the shirt as well as the people throwing them. Also, Southpaw is a White Sox mascot seen before, during and after the game...just saying, it's part of the White Sox US Cellular Experience. And, who's to say this guy didn't wrench his back while going for the same t-shirt?
  5. QUOTE (Sox It To Em @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 12:40 PM) A loss tonight would put me in a real funk, so let's get a winner. I'm sure the Sox are worried about your funk.
  6. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Apr 8, 2009 -> 04:41 PM) Maybe if Plax signed with the Bears Obama can pardon him because he is a Chicago guy. Well shoot...then maybe we should just sign Rae Carruth! Seriously, TO doesn't have the off-field problems like Plax does, but he does have issues. Bit unstable, if you ask me. Personally, I'd rather have 80% of Holt or Marvin Harrison...if only because they wouldn't come here demanding, well, anything, except a chance.
  7. QUOTE (The Critic @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 12:22 PM) That would seriously be fantastic. "Judgment for the plaintiff in the amount of 4,500 White Sox Pride Crew t-shirts....and they must be delivered to his home, since he couldn't possibly lift the box anymore." Delivered to his home via a repeating t-shirt cannon.
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 11:34 AM) If you ask most baseball scholars and reporters/media, they would take Jim Thome for the Hall of Fame over Edgar Martinez. Having said that, Edgar SHOULD make it, if not on the first ballot, sometime in the next 2-3 years. And Bonds won't ever make it in...in fact, all the inflated HR numbers has made it a bit more difficult for some of the other players who weren't accused of cheating, like a Jeff Bagwell, to make it. It's so difficult to know who was doing what, exactly. At any rate, Edgar was a professional hitter in the same way Harold Baines was, but NOT a slugger. Thome's in a different category. I was just talking about shifts and the ability of certain players to have high AVGs even with the shift. Edgar would find the holes better than anyone.
  9. Maybe the Sox should settle in t-shirts?
  10. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 11:56 AM) You know what the Rangers need...? A big helping of Mike MacDougal in trade for Byrd. Sssshhhhh...you hear that? Faintly in the distance? That's Jon Daniels laughing.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 10:55 AM) Big Jim is going to the Hall of Fame and people have been shifting him for well over a decade. Minus the humungous noggin, Barry Bonds got the shift and he still hit for average. That's when he wasn't 'roiding them out of the park. For the non-roiders...there's Edgar Martinez. He got the shift and still hit .300.
  12. QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 10:26 AM) Byrd would be a great idea. Possibly, but is he any different than any other tradeable CF out there? Definitely better than D-Weezy...but I don't know. Doesn't move my needle. That sounded horrible.
  13. How will they know which one passed away? All the mourners are going to be just as pasty. Oh man, do I feel dirty. RIP.
  14. And even though we lost 2/3...the pitching looked pretty damn good. Our pen rocked it (minus McDougal) and the starters held their own.
  15. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 03:53 PM) So you're denying it? I love how the Ozzie supporters always act like they're the smart ones when they can never provide a solid argument. I'm sorry, Ozzie sucks. I guess it's not enough that I bring up examples every time this "argument" comes up. You're right, it IS pointless because there IS no argument. Ozzie is a bad manager; simple as that. Bait me all you want Hurt. I don't have to give you an argument. Smarter baseball minds than me have decided that he is a good manager. If they decide to fire him...than they fire him. I'm not going to get all riled up over a manager. Or one player. Or a GM. Because at the end of the day, I just want to enjoy White Sox baseball with a couple pops and some friends.
  16. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 03:50 PM) Ozzie being a generally bad on-game manager is no f***ing opinion, sir. *waving bye as he turns his back on an pointless argument*
  17. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 03:47 PM) If you need "evidence" as to why Ozzie sucks, you simply aren't watching the games or know nothing about baseball, one or the other. I think Balta knows baseball. Just drop it.... WE know your opinion. Watch the game.
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 03:44 PM) Please tell me Ozzie pinch ran He did.
  19. QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 03:38 PM) Aw man, Curious George isnt on until 4. CRAP! Is Word World on?
  20. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 03:35 PM) Because Ozzie is an idiot. Enough already...Ozzie has one thing that you don't have...a World Series ring. (waiting for the inevitable, "Players won that championship in spite of Ozzie" comment)
  21. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 03:30 PM) The laughable thing is when KW says the types of players the White Sox need are not available, and his followers eat it all up. The guy has been GM for now 9 years. They have been available because other teams have them. Oh for the love of God.....
  22. QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 03:29 PM) When we are at bat who wants to watch cartoons on PBS with me? *raises hand*
  23. QUOTE (qwerty @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 03:27 PM) It was in his glove for roughly a half second. Should be like football. Have to continue all the way through the throw to first. Did the ump do the over the top point at the ball and "out" sign over and over again?
  24. QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 03:26 PM) DP ball hit to short....threw to second, callaspo never caught it, but the ump said he dropped it on the transfer and called a FC I hate that play.
