  1. QUOTE (fathom @ May 12, 2009 -> 04:23 PM) No idea how this could have happened. INstead of hitting the bat with his hand, he decided to give it a roundhouse kick.
  2. QUOTE (longshot7 @ May 12, 2009 -> 01:05 PM) I know a little about the case... it's pretty solid, that's why they took 18 months before making the arrest. That's what I would think. Peterson has been making a mockery of all the proceedings. Whether it's by going on TV or joking about it. I would think they would really want to nail the sonuvab**** because he's been laughing at them. I hope they found something that they didn't have before and therefore wipes that ridiculous smile off his face...Jackass.
  3. Kaner's 2nd goal won that game for us. I know a lot of people would say Burish's goal...a 4th line goal, was the big one. But just look at Luongo after Kane tied it at 5. He had no way of stopping us. I think Rosenbloom said it best. Kane's 2nd goal was opportunity, Toews 2nd goal was luck and Kane's third goal was skill. Any way the Nucks wanted to play, the 'hawks played...and eventually beat them. I really don't think it matters who the 'hawks play because after destroying Luongo, they have the confidence to beat anyone. Even the Dead Wings. BTW, Luongo has NEVER allowed 7 goals as a Canuck. NEVER. In fact...the last time he allowed 7 or more goals were back-to-back games in 1999-2000: Luongo with the Islanders
  4. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 11, 2009 -> 01:32 PM) I didn't see enough of Brett Favre coming out of Peter King's mouth. That's because he was cumming in his mouth... ...I thank you.
  5. QUOTE (G&T @ May 11, 2009 -> 02:51 PM) On a related note, when MB was on B&B he said he would throw at the Ranger's players when his guys were getting hit. After hanging up, B&B proclaimed that he was wrong to want to throw at people. Nothing like radio hosts telling a really good pitcher how to play the game. ...and after hanging up.
  6. QUOTE (knightni @ May 10, 2009 -> 10:02 AM) That would create some severe absentee ownership issues. Plus, the NHL is a money pit. JR is never one to throw his money down a hole. If he were to buy the 'yotes...how long before their fan boards talk about attendance issues and spending money?
  7. QUOTE (earthshiner @ May 8, 2009 -> 09:28 AM) has there been a white sox player in the last 30 years thats been easier to like than MB? The only one that really jumps out is Baines. Joey Belle.
  8. Baseball: Pitching inside is the way to go. If you hit a guy, you hit a guy...I don't necessarily believe in plunking a guy to send a message, but I sure as s*** believe that you need to pitch inside. Hockey: Players are constantly sending messages during games, whether there's fight or not. Whether it's a quick stick to the calf or a minor cross-check in front of the net or face full of glove after the whistle...it's happening every game. Did you see game 3 when Big Buf screened the only 'hawks goal, turned around and mouthed off to Luongo? That's called sending a message. Is it wrong to do that? N...O...
  9. QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 7, 2009 -> 05:12 PM) Dewayne Wise took flyballs today. This is going to be interesting. Hopefully he took them to the skull.
  10. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 7, 2009 -> 03:42 PM) Is the minor league stint really needed at this point? Yes, especially if he hasn't swung a bat in a week.
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 6, 2009 -> 09:14 PM) OOps, thanks for the clarification. That's interesting stuff on how he liked Walker. I personally don't think hitting coaches matter that much, but I guess that's open to debate. Also a good DeLuca take on the situation. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/deluca/1562...eluca07.article I posted this somewhere before, but Walk was on Mully and Hanley and basically said as much. For the vets, he's a psychologist not a swing doctor. For the rooks, he's more of a tutor to help them adjust to major league pitching. Not that he doesn't teach...so I don't want to get into that discussion, but something to keep in the back of your head.
  12. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ May 6, 2009 -> 05:05 PM) Sex Ed in middle school should teach abstinence and safe sex. My face on a $2500 bill You could get Bristol Palin to be your spokesperson... (I wish I could put that in green)
  13. Rhombus...right size, wrong shape.
  14. Congratulations. And in the immortal words of Thornton Melon: I have only one thing to say to you today...it's a jungle out there. You gotta look out for number one. But don't step in number two. And so, to all you graduates...as you go out into the world my advice to you is... don't go! It's rough out there. Move back with your parents. Let them worry about it.
  15. Didn't Canseco and Thomas play together on the Sox? If so, I think Canseco would have said something. As for Manny...not surprised at all which is a sad state for a baseball fan to be in.
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 6, 2009 -> 11:46 AM) That on paper is not that bad a lineup, especially if the old Lexi is playing in place of Nix. Pods may suck but he at least has had some hits and some good at bats. Yet the team is last in runs scored? Something is wrong. Horrible situational hitting.
  17. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 6, 2009 -> 11:28 AM) Also, forgot to add, Alexei has real power, as we saw last year. Better for him to hit with someone in front of him getting on base, like a leadoff guy with a highish OBP. Getz isn't a guy who is as likely to drive in runs. FINE! Stop flaming! And yelling at me!!! I GET IT!!! Sorry...been on this board too long.
  18. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ May 6, 2009 -> 11:24 AM) Do the sox emplore the Greg Walker school of pulling the ball in the minor leagues? No...LIFTING and pulling. And booooooo...no more Greg Walker hijacks. At some point, the players have to be accountable...they all but ran Gary Ward out of town (and back to Charlotte, somehow) because of his methods.
  19. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 6, 2009 -> 11:23 AM) The only change you made was moving Lexi up to leadoff, Getz to 2, and Fields down the order. I'm all for moving Fields down and Lexi up, but... why not put Alexei at the 2 slot? Getz is doing quite well leading off, doing all the things you'd want him to do. You'd put Alexei in a better position to succeed if you put him in the 2 slot: he'll see more fastballs hitting between Getz and TCQ, you'd force him to stop pulling the ball so much (which he needs), and give him protection. Leading him off makes no sense. But don't you want a higher OBP in the 2nd hole? Which is what Fields brings, for now.
