MLB invented a billion dollar behemoth company to handle their live streaming that they still have plenty of equity in it. They're not going to give that up and it won't be up to the individual teams to do so. That said on their own platform they need to resolve mlb.tv blackout issues at some point.

They're partners with disney so yeah they could go with them. But the mouse didn't just give them a billion dollars to have mlb stab them in the back and go with Amazon.

Doubt any time soon. MLB has their own competing media service that theyve already turned into over 1.5 billion dollars and still hold plenty of stake in it.
