  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 31, 2017 -> 03:28 PM) I was just thinking the other day what if they drafted Bryant and not Appel? Bryant, Correa, Altuve. You could have me play 1B and its the best infield in baseball. Well I mean MVP winner and 7 time all star, I would sure hope so.
  3. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 31, 2017 -> 03:27 PM) Dodgers and Nationals NLCS, please. Yankees and Astros ALCS, too. Why root for the Astros at this point? I hope they flame out spectacularly with Charlie Morton giving up 8 runs in a 3 game sweep.
  4. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 31, 2017 -> 03:17 PM) Tobias Myers Seems like a non prospect. Odd move
  5. Great. Said it in the other thread but figured this would happen at last second.
  6. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jul 31, 2017 -> 03:08 PM) Tim Beckham to Orioles...that's a weird one. Wow. Any word for what? Would have loved to added him. I remember we were all praying he was the ptbnl in the Crain deal.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 31, 2017 -> 03:07 PM) Lopez He has to be coming up. Everyone and their mother has reported "Lopez close to call-up" for the last 3 weeks so definitely been long leaked out. So surprising they didn't trade someone then
  8. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jul 31, 2017 -> 02:39 PM) Who's to say they aren't? We will find out in 20 but I guess I imagine Gonzo being had for a bag of baseballs (especially since Hahn is looking for an excuse to call up Lopez) so if he's not moved then no one was a player at all. Maybe the Dodgers have something contingent in line on a Darvish deal not happening. But I feel that Darvish deal will happen and its just contingent itself on the Rangers not finding a better offer
  9. Pretty surprised Royals werent bigger players for MiGo
  10. Have to listen on the radio, but Farmer with a rare great call. "Give him the Gold Glove now!" And you'd be lucky to see those in a year. He did it back to back. I assume they were awesome plays. Video links would be great.
  11. Royals announcers saying it's officially the injury of the foot
  12. Fantastic piece of hitting by Engel there
  13. It should be noted the salary dump was a massive reason this trade was made to the point where Hahn mentioned it twice during his announcement presser. That's the very likely reason why the player return ended up so disappointing, moreso than any Sox players perceived value.
  14. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 19, 2017 -> 10:22 AM) , he moved Swisher for obvious AAAA players He was doing drugs in the locker room, got benched for a corpse and hit .219. The fact they got a living breathing human for him was impressive. The problem was acquiring him to begin with.
  15. Undoubtedly the worst of the big trades. To trade 3 major leaguers including two with some nice value for only guy who will enter your top 20 or 25 prospects is not good to say the least. Just got to hope it land out and it doesn't matter anyways.
  16. We should have gotten a third piece in the Sale trade so I think settled is the right word. That's the worst trade of the bunch. He's a generational talent and about to be Cy Young winner. But yes, Robbie Cano and all that. The fact we got 3 legit prospects for Eaton and not Q and Sale is something
  17. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 15, 2017 -> 03:03 PM) Meh.. he's young but that's about it. I think Rondon is the much better prospect for example. But nice to have a glove in the lower levels to help the pitching. Cleuluis? Sox released him last month because he was pitiful. Never got the soxtalk obsession with him other than that he was involved in a big trade.
  18. Considering we had 0 leverage here, sounds like a great pickup.
  19. If you take on all of his contract you better get Devers+. Taking on 45 million, including some going into the Sox prime years, negates the point of acquiring prospects to begin with. Of course a 45 million for Devers+ is a ridiculous premise to begin with. I don't think the Sox should take on any more than 20 million for any one player else there.
  20. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 14, 2017 -> 10:41 PM) Rick Slattery??? He's been posted here before and of I emember right I think he either broke the first Frazier to white sox trade or the Samardzija deal. But fathom could be right too.
  21. This story has been floating NBA circles a lot today for whatever reason. Basically the gist of it is the Bulls received 3.5 million for a draft pick the same day they signed Jake Burger. The Robert signing also thrown in there. Most NBA people seem to believe it. Seems ridiculous given that Reinsdorf probably doesn't even own more than 50% of the Sox (or the Bulls?) And the transfer of funds is not that simple.
  22. Commentary sold a double turn and they continued with it onto Raw talk. ...now will it continue into Raw tomorrow? Anyways, ended up being a great ppv.
